How to approach it
- Clarify the platform and quality assumed, e.g. standard mobile streaming versus HD.
- State a bitrate assumption, say 2.5 Mbps for standard-quality mobile video.
- Convert 2GB to bits: 2GB equals 16 gigabits, or 16,000 megabits.
- Divide total megabits by bitrate to get total seconds of video, about 6,400 seconds, roughly 1.8 hours.
- Assume an average video length, say 5-10 minutes, to convert total watch time into a video count.
What a strong answer includes
- States bitrate and average video length as explicit assumptions, not facts.
- Shows the full unit conversion cleanly, bytes to bits, minutes to videos.
- Notes how the answer shifts for HD or 4K, showing the estimate isn't a single fixed number.
Common mistakes
