What this question tests

Whether the candidate can decompose an operational logistics problem into road coverage, vehicle speed, and capture rate assumptions.

Pick a city and estimate its total drivable road length, for example assuming a mid-size city has roughly 3,000 miles of roads.
Assume a Street View capture vehicle drives at an average speed of 20 mph while capturing, accounting for stops and traffic.
Calculate driving time: 3,000 miles divided by 20 mph gives 150 hours of pure driving time.
Account for operational factors: one vehicle working 8 hours a day means roughly 19 working days for a single car.
Adjust for a realistic fleet size, for example 5 vehicles working in parallel, bringing total time down to roughly 4 working days, and state this as an estimate.
