What this question tests
Tests prioritization reasoning for a B2B-facing surface where the buyer (page admin/business) differs from the end consumer.
How to approach it
- Segment Pages users: small local businesses, larger brands running ad campaigns, and public figures/creators, since their needs diverge.
- Identify the top pain point for the largest segment, small businesses: managing customer messages and reviews efficiently without a dedicated support team.
- Prioritize a unified inbox feature (messages, comments, reviews in one place with quick-reply templates) as the highest-leverage fix for that segment.
- Next priority: better analytics on which posts drive real business outcomes (calls, messages, site visits), not just reach.
- Deprioritize niche creator-only features for this pass, since small business retention is the larger lever for Pages' overall health.
What a strong answer includes
- Segments Pages users clearly and picks the largest, highest-churn-risk segment (small businesses) to prioritize for, rather than treating all Pages the same.
- Chooses a workflow-efficiency feature (unified inbox) over a flashy new feature, since it directly reduces churn from overwhelmed small business owners.
- Uses an illustrative number, e.g. assume 30% of small business Page admins go inactive within 3 months due to message overload.
- Explicitly deprioritizes something (creator-only tools) and explains why, showing real prioritization, not just a wish list.
Common mistakes
- Listing many features without picking and justifying a top priority.
- Treating all Page owners as one segment instead of recognizing small businesses, brands, and creators have different needs.
Likely follow-up questions
- How would you measure whether the unified inbox actually reduced business owner churn?
- How would you prioritize differently for large enterprise brands versus small businesses?
