What this question tests

Tests product sense for a multi-stakeholder, multi-touchpoint journey with several friction points, and the ability to prioritize instead of listing everything.

How to approach it

  1. Segment travelers (business, leisure, infrequent flyer) and pick one to focus on, since needs differ sharply.
  2. Map the end-to-end journey: booking, check-in, security, gate wait, boarding, baggage claim.
  3. Identify the two or three highest-friction moments, such as security wait time or flight-delay uncertainty.
  4. Pick one pain point and propose a concrete fix, like real-time security wait predictions in the airline app.
  5. Define a success metric such as reduced average security-to-gate time or NPS at that touchpoint.
  6. Confirm with the interviewer whether this is airline-specific or airport-wide, since ownership differs.
