What this question tests
Whether the candidate can define success metrics for a broad, multi-surface AI feature set rather than treating AI as one monolithic thing.
How to approach it
- Clarify which AI features are in scope: Meta AI assistant, AI-generated stickers and images, or ad creative generation, since each has different goals.
- For an assistant-style feature, define usage metrics: queries per user, task completion rate, and repeat usage within a week.
- Add a quality guardrail: helpfulness or accuracy rating from user feedback (thumbs up/down) and hallucination or complaint rate.
- For creative AI tools, define adoption by creators or advertisers and downstream impact, such as ad click-through rate for AI-assisted creative.
- Separate leading indicators (query volume, feature discovery) from lagging indicators (retention lift, revenue impact) in the metric tree.
What a strong answer includes
- Picks a specific AI surface rather than answering generically about 'AI features' as one thing.
- Includes a quality guardrail like thumbs down rate or hallucination reports, not just usage volume.
- Ties the metric to business impact, such as AI-assisted ad creative lifting click-through rate by an assumed 5 to 10 percent.
Common mistakes
- Treating all of Meta's AI features as one undifferentiated bucket.
- Measuring only adoption without a quality or satisfaction guardrail.
Likely follow-up questions
- How would you detect if users are adopting the feature out of curiosity but not finding it useful?
- What would make you sunset an AI feature?
