Ability to synthesize company strategy on the spot and pitch a single, well justified idea rather than a scattershot list.
How to approach it
- Clarify scope: which business unit the CEO is asking about, Azure, Copilot, Windows, or gaming.
- Anchor the idea in a real Microsoft asset, such as enterprise distribution or Azure infrastructure.
- Propose one specific idea, such as a Copilot feature in Teams that automates meeting follow ups for enterprise customers.
- Justify with a business case: addressable market, why Microsoft can win it, and needed resourcing.
- Name the biggest risk, such as cannibalizing an existing Microsoft 365 feature, and how you would mitigate it.
What a strong answer includes
- Commits to one idea instead of hedging with three, matching what the question asks.
