What this question tests

Product sense and personal conviction: can you pick a real product, show genuine understanding of it, and propose a specific, defensible improvement.

Pick a specific Google product you can speak to concretely, e.g. Google Maps, Search, or Photos, rather than a vague favorite.
State why you like it: a specific job it does well for you, tied to a real use case.
Identify one real limitation you've personally experienced, not a hypothetical one.
Propose a specific improvement addressing that limitation, e.g. better indoor navigation in Maps, or smarter duplicate detection in Photos.
Explain the tradeoff of your proposal, such as added complexity or privacy considerations.
Define how you'd measure whether the improvement actually helped.

Chooses a product they clearly use and understand deeply, evidenced by a specific, personal use case rather than a generic description.
Identifies a real, narrow limitation (not 'it could be better overall') that shows genuine product thinking.
Proposes a concrete, buildable fix rather than a vague wish like 'more AI'.
Names a believable metric to validate the fix, e.g. task completion time or feature adoption.

Picking a product superficially ('I like Search because it's helpful') without a specific limitation or fix.
Proposing a fix so broad it's unactionable, like 'make it smarter'.

Why hasn't Google already built this, in your view?
