What this question tests

Product sense applied to everyday objects: can the candidate spot a real gap in a familiar product and propose a grounded fix.

Pick a specific, well known product rather than something obscure, so the interviewer can evaluate the reasoning easily.
Explain why you like it: name the specific job it does well and for whom.
Identify one real limitation or friction point in that product's everyday use.
Propose a specific improvement addressing that friction, not a vague wish list.
State how you would validate the improvement actually matters to users before building it.

Chooses a product with a genuinely specific insight, for example a French press's inconsistent grind filtration, over a generic answer like a phone.
Names the exact user and moment of friction rather than a general complaint.
Proposes a testable improvement, such as a finer mesh filter, and states what metric (sediment complaints, repeat purchase rate) would confirm it worked.
