How to approach it
- Clarify what signals are captured, e.g. heart rate, movement, skin temperature, and stress markers, since use cases depend on signal fidelity.
- Generate use cases across distinct domains rather than variations on one theme, e.g. health, safety, fitness, productivity, and accessibility.
- Propose five, for example early illness detection, fall detection for elderly users, stress-aware notification pacing, sleep quality coaching, and accessibility for nonverbal users to signal distress.
- For each, briefly note the target user and the core value delivered.
- Pick the strongest one and explain why, e.g. fall detection for elderly users, due to clear urgency and a measurable outcome.
- Define a success metric for the chosen use case, e.g. reduced response time to a fall incident.
What a strong answer includes
- Spreads the five use cases across genuinely different domains, health, safety, productivity, rather than five minor variations of fitness tracking.
- Picks one use case and goes deep with a concrete mechanism and metric, showing prioritization instead of listing five shallow ideas equally.
- Considers ethical and privacy implications briefly, since continuous body signal collection is sensitive data.
- Ties the strongest use case to urgency and clear value, e.g. fall detection matters because minutes matter for elderly safety.
Common mistakes
- Listing five nearly identical fitness-tracking ideas instead of diverse domains.
- Not going deep on any single use case, treating all five equally shallow.
- Ignoring privacy and consent implications of continuous body signal collection.
