Is Reforge worth it after the Miro acquisition? An honest review from AllthingsPM

Reforge is still a deep product, growth and AI library after Miro bought it, but at $1,995 a year plus tax it only pays off if you use it heavily. For AI PM skills and the next job, AllthingsPM gives you an AI PM course and JD mock interviews for $120 a year.

A big library or a focused plan: what are you actually paying for?

Short answer: Reforge is still worth it for a senior PM whose employer pays and who will use several courses a year. For most individuals paying out of pocket, it is not, and AllthingsPM is the better buy. AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform: 14 chapters and 101 lessons built from 604 real PM job postings, mock interviews generated from any job description, and 4,122 real interview questions, for $20 a month or $120 a year with a free tier. Reforge Individual costs $1,995 a year plus tax, annual only.

The Miro acquisition in March 2026 did not change that math. Reforge says its learning product stays a separate brand with no price changes, while its Insights, Research and Build tools moved into Miro. Every Reforge fact below comes from Reforge's own pricing page, help center and blog, or from Miro's announcement, checked on September 28, 2026.

What happened to Reforge after the Miro acquisition?

On March 24, 2026, Miro announced it had acquired Reforge, including its team, learning platform and AI product development tools. Reforge CEO Brian Balfour became Miro's Chief Growth Officer, and COO Tom Willerer became Chief Strategy Officer. Miro cited more than 100,000 Reforge Learning alumni and said it serves more than 100 million users.

The part that matters to a learner is what stayed the same. In his post announcing the deal, Balfour wrote that Reforge Learning keeps its own brand and community on reforge.com, that "there are no price changes at this time", that past course material stays available, and that no Miro account is needed. Miro's newsroom said the learning platform would keep "independent, vendor-neutral courseware".

What moved: Reforge Insights, Research and Build became part of Miro's Product Acceleration offering. If you only ever used the courses, your day-to-day is unchanged.

Balfour also wrote that Reforge plans "additional courses across our existing topics of AI, product, and growth as well as new topics." That is a promise of more content, not of a cheaper plan.

How AllthingsPM does this: AllthingsPM is independent, and its AI PM course changes every week from what real job postings ask for, not from a parent company's roadmap. When a skill such as agent design shows up in postings, it becomes a lesson, like the agents and agentic architecture chapter.

What does Reforge cost in 2026?

Reforge's pricing page lists four plans, all billed yearly and all plus tax:

  • Individual: $1,995 a year, 1 seat.
  • Starter: $9,995 a year for 10 seats, with self-serve onboarding, admin and engagement reporting.
  • Scale: $23,995 a year for 30 seats, with dedicated customer success.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing for 50 or more seats, with SAML SSO and private events.

Every plan gets the same library: live courses, 40+ on-demand courses, 600+ guides and 1,400+ artifacts. Reforge's help center adds that you get one live course each season, Spring and Fall, subject to schedule, plus the member Slack community. It also says courses cannot be bought one at a time; you need an active membership.

Neither the pricing page nor the help center article on cost lists a monthly plan, a free trial or a refund policy. Reforge does link a guide on how to expense the membership, which tells you who it is really priced for: employers.

Bar chart: AllthingsPM, highlighted first, costs $60 for 3 months and $120 for 12 months; Reforge Individual costs $1,995 plus tax for either, because it is annual only
AllthingsPM costs $60 for a 3 month job search and $120 for a year; Reforge Individual is $1,995 plus tax either way. Sources: allthingspm.app/pricing and reforge.com/pricing, checked September 28, 2026

The gap is largest for the most common reason people buy a course: a job search. A three month search on AllthingsPM costs $60 on the monthly plan. On Reforge it costs the full $1,995, because there is no shorter term.

How AllthingsPM does this: AllthingsPM has one price for everything: $20 a month or $120 a year for the whole course, JD mock interviews and the full question bank, with a free tier that includes one JD mock and one resume review a day. See the plans on the pricing page.

What do you actually get from a Reforge membership?

Reforge's strength is depth. It was built by growth and product leaders, and its catalog now leans hard into AI. The courses page lists AI Transformation, AI Evals, AI Prototyping, AI Productivity, AI Strategy, AI Product Leadership and AI Growth, alongside Product Foundations for the AI Era and Growth Foundations.

The live courses run as seasonal cohorts, and the guides and artifacts are templates and worked examples you can reuse at work. For a PM leading a team, a strategy framework plus a real artifact can save days.

What the membership does not list is anything about getting hired. We found no mock interviews, interview question bank, resume review or job listings on Reforge's pricing page or membership help article. It is a skills product for people who already have the job.

How AllthingsPM does this: AllthingsPM teaches the skill and then makes you prove it. Each of the 14 chapters ends in a graded case study, and the evals chapter teaches you to define good, build a golden set and defend the number, the same topic Reforge sells as a standalone AI Evals course.

What do PMs on Reddit say about Reforge?

Reddit's r/ProductManagement has asked "is Reforge worth it?" for years, and the answers split along one line: who pays.

In a 2023 thread, one PM called it a "strong yes" and said they get every PM a yearly subscription wherever they go. Another in the same thread warned that you need a lot of time, "20 hours a week?", to make the most of it. A third said they did it "only because it was free from work" and would not pay out of pocket.

A more recent thread from a laid-off PM asking whether to spend about $2,000 on the Individual plan drew the same caution. One long-time member wrote that they cancelled because it was "tough to justify for the self-serve content" and they were not interested in the AI material Reforge was investing in. Another called $2,000 while money is tight "a big gamble".

These are individual opinions, not a survey. But the pattern is consistent: Reforge earns praise when an employer pays and the member has time, and doubts when someone is funding their own job search.

How AllthingsPM does this: AllthingsPM is priced for the person paying out of pocket. At $20 a month, you can study one chapter, run mock interviews by question type, and stop when you land the role, without betting a year's budget.

Is Reforge worth it for AI product management?

Reforge now has a real AI track, and a senior PM rolling out AI across a team will find useful frameworks in courses like AI Strategy and AI Product Leadership.

For an individual trying to become or grow as an AI PM, three things matter more than a large library: the skills hiring managers ask for, practice on real questions, and a way to show proof. That is where a general membership is a weaker fit.

AI PM job descriptions are specific. The 116 live roles in our jobs catalog, such as Product Manager, AI Growth at Figma, ask about evals, agent design, model trade-offs and shipping AI into other companies' workflows. A course built from those postings maps straight to the interview.

How AllthingsPM does this: the AllthingsPM course is built from 604 real PM job postings and updated weekly, with chapters on the AI PRD, evals, agents and AI UX. Explore how the concepts connect on the knowledge graph.

Is Reforge worth it if you are looking for a PM job?

This is where the answer is clearest. Reforge does not list interview practice, and it only sells a full year. A job search needs the opposite: targeted practice now, for as long as the search runs.

A strong search loop has four parts: find roles that fit, tailor your resume to each description, practice the interview that role will run, and study the gaps the practice exposes. AllthingsPM covers all four in one subscription. Reforge covers the last one.

How AllthingsPM does this: use Resume Job Match to find roles, check your resume against the exact posting with resume review against a JD, then paste that posting into a JD mock and get an interviewer that asks the questions that role implies, with follow-ups and a score. Company hubs such as Anthropic interview questions show what that company actually asks.

Who should still buy Reforge?

Reforge makes sense in a narrow set of cases:

  1. Your employer pays. At Starter pricing, 10 seats work out to about $1,000 each, with admin and engagement reporting that a learning and development team wants.
  2. You are a senior or growth PM with time. You will take the Spring and Fall live courses and use the artifacts at work.
  3. You want the community. The member Slack is a genuine draw that AllthingsPM does not offer.

If none of those fits, especially if you are paying yourself or searching for a role, the membership is hard to justify on value.

How AllthingsPM does this: even Reforge members use AllthingsPM for the part Reforge skips. The question bank has 4,122 real questions from 260 companies, each with its own page and answer guide, such as how to define leading vs lagging indicators in product strategy.

Reforge's $1,995 buys about 16 years of AllthingsPM at the annual price. Unless live cohorts and a Slack community are worth that difference to you, AllthingsPM is the stronger value.

How AllthingsPM does this: the extras are part of the same plan. Read book summaries of the frameworks Reforge-style courses cite, catch up on podcast summaries from product leaders, and study 455 PM portfolios before building your own.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice than Reforge for most PMs

Reforge built one of the best known product and growth libraries in the industry, and after Miro's acquisition that library keeps running, with live cohorts, a large guide and artifact collection and a member community. Those are real strengths, and they suit teams with a training budget.

But the question most people search is whether Reforge is worth their own money. For that reader, three facts decide it.

First, price and commitment. Reforge Individual is $1,995 a year plus tax, annual only, with no single-course option. AllthingsPM is $20 a month or $120 a year, with a free tier.

Second, focus. The AllthingsPM course is entirely AI product management, built from 604 real PM job postings and updated weekly, so you study what hiring managers are asking for right now.

Third, the job. Reforge does not list interview prep. AllthingsPM adds mock interviews from any job description, 4,122 real questions with answer guides, 116 live AI company roles and resume review against a JD, in the same subscription.

Our verdict: if your company is paying and you want a community and live cohorts, Reforge is a fine perk. If you are paying yourself, want AI PM skills, or want your next role, choose AllthingsPM. Open the AI PM course and start free today.
