- Prioritize supply acquisition first, since parking marketplaces are supply-constrained, not demand-constrained.
- Define success as average time-to-park reduction, or lot utilization rate for supply partners.
What a strong answer includes
- Picks a specific, high-frequency segment, daily commuters, rather than a vague 'people who need parking'.
- Identifies the marketplace's real constraint, supply of available spaces, as the priority to solve first.
- Proposes a concrete underused-asset supply source, private driveways or off-hours office lots.
- Picks metrics for both sides, driver time-to-park and owner lot utilization, reflecting the two-sided marketplace.
Common mistakes
- Focusing only on the driver-facing app UX while ignoring the harder supply-acquisition problem.
- Not addressing the marketplace's cold-start challenge in a new city.
