Three things explain the spread.
- Total pay versus base. Levels.fyi counts base, stock and bonus. Glassdoor and AmbitionBox averages lean toward fixed salary, so they come out lower.
- Who reports. Levels.fyi skews toward big tech and funded startups. AmbitionBox has more services and enterprise respondents, where AI PM titles pay less (upGrad cites TCS at ₹13.1 lakh versus Accenture at ₹37 lakh for the same title).
- Title inflation. "AI Product Manager" is applied to everything from a chatbot owner at an IT services firm to a model platform PM at a frontier lab.
The honest reading: a typical AI PM in India lands between ₹25 and ₹45 lakh, and the top of the market is two to three times that.

These are PM figures, not AI-only figures. At these companies, AI PMs sit on the same ladders and bands as other PMs, so the level you are hired at matters much more than whether the team is called "AI".
Two details are worth knowing before you negotiate.
- Stock is a big share at senior levels. Amazon's L7 PM median has ₹63.5 lakh of annual stock on a ₹105.2 lakh base, and Amazon's vesting is backloaded, with most of it in years three and four.
- Entry levels are closer than the medians suggest. Google APM1 (₹30.9 lakh), Microsoft Level 60 (₹32.1 lakh) and Uber APM (₹27.5 lakh) are within a few lakh of each other. The gap opens at the mid and senior levels.

Experience bands vary even more across sources than averages do. Here is what each reports.

Hyderabad topping Levels.fyi likely reflects the large Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Uber PM teams there, which pull the median up. Bengaluru has the most AI PM roles, but also more early-stage and services roles, which pull its median down. For a job seeker the practical point is the same: the company you target matters more than the city.

Do AI PMs earn more than regular PMs in India?
