The Flipkart APM program is a two-year program for fresh graduates, made of two one-year rotations in different product teams, and in 2026 Flipkart hires for it only through on-campus recruitment [1]. The selection runs in four stages over 8 to 10 weeks: a workshop, a case study round, a buddy program and campus interviews [3]. Applications for the APM Class of 2028 are open through participating campuses [2]. The fastest way to prepare is AllthingsPM, which holds 88 real Flipkart PM interview questions, each with its own page, answer guide and a scored AI mock you can start free today.
AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. This guide covers what the program is, who can get in, how each round works, what the interviews actually ask, and a week-by-week plan to prepare, with every fact linked to its source.
What is the Flipkart APM program in 2026?
Flipkart says it "was the first in India to create an APM program" [1], and its program site dates the start to 2015, a decade of classes [2]. Here is the program at a glance.

How AllthingsPM does this
Open the Flipkart company page and you see all 88 questions in one list, filterable by type. Every question has an answer guide and a button that starts a scored AI mock, so the week you hear Flipkart is coming to campus, you can start reps that same evening.
Who is eligible for the Flipkart APM program?
Flipkart describes its target candidate as "fresh graduates who have the curiosity to ask the right questions and a drive to solve problems," with interest in "business, technology & user experience" [1]. There is no public GPA cutoff or branch list on the program site.
The real eligibility rule is the route. Flipkart states: "We are currently hiring for the APM role only through our on-campus recruitment program" [1]. If Flipkart does not recruit APMs at your college, there is no public form to apply through. Flipkart's program site offers a contact form for questions [2].
Alumni profiles on the program site give a sense of where past classes came from: BITS Pilani, IIT Madras and IIT Bombay graduates are featured, now working at places like Google and Flipkart itself [2]. That is a sample of testimonials, not a complete list of campuses.
If your college is not on the list: the APM title is not the only way into product at Flipkart. Build the same skills, apply for product roles off campus later, and use the APM programs in India guide to see which other programs you can reach.
How AllthingsPM does this
Eligibility is out of your hands; readiness is not. AllthingsPM's AI PM course teaches the product thinking APM panels test, starting with a chapter on getting the job that walks through the product sense and execution rounds out loud.
How does the Flipkart APM selection process work?
Flipkart calls its hiring an "8-10 week long, campus only process" with four stages [3].
Stage 1: The Flipkart APM Workshop
It opens with a pre-placement talk from a Flipkart product leader, followed by a case-solving walkthrough by a current APM [3]. Treat this as free coaching. Take notes on how the APM structures the case, because the next stage asks you to do the same thing on your own.
Stage 2: The case study round
After the workshop, Flipkart releases a problem statement and candidates submit a solution [3]. This is the shortlisting round: your submission decides whether you reach the interviews.
Flipkart does not publish the exact prompt for each year, and it changes. One prompt that appears in AllthingsPM's Flipkart question set captures the style well: Tell me about a problem with a product that bothers you. How would you use technology to solve the problem? Flipkart's own resources page lists a book titled Preparing for Product Interviews (with Flipkart APM deck examples) by two alumni [4], which tells you the deck matters enough for alumni to write it up.
What a strong submission tends to show, based on how Flipkart describes the role and the final round:
- A real user and a real pain. Name who suffers, how often, and how you know.
- A clear problem statement before any solution.
- Two or three solution options, with a reasoned pick.
- Success metrics, including one that could go wrong if you push too hard.
- Scope. An MVP you could actually ship, not a platform.
Stage 3: The buddy program
Every candidate who moves forward gets an APM buddy for 1:1 mentoring and mock interviews, and Flipkart says the buddy program is "not evaluative in nature" [3]. Use your buddy for honest feedback, not for impressions. Ask for at least one full mock case and ask where you lost them.
Stage 4: Campus interviews
The final round tests "problem solving, product thinking, and culture fit" [3]. Expect back-to-back case conversations on campus, so stamina matters as much as structure.
How AllthingsPM does this
A buddy gives you a handful of mocks; AllthingsPM gives you one every day. Start any Flipkart question as a mock interview, answer in text or voice, take the AI interviewer's follow-ups, and get a score. For the case study round, run your deck idea through the "problem that bothers you" question first and see where the follow-ups poke holes.
What do Flipkart PM interviews actually ask?
We tagged the 88 real Flipkart questions in the AllthingsPM bank by type. A question can carry more than one tag, so the bars add up to more than 88.
The chart makes the priorities plain. Product sense and analytical thinking together appear on most questions, and behavioral questions are rare (3 of 88). That fits Flipkart's own description of a final round built around problem solving and product thinking [3].
The questions lean hard on commerce, which is Flipkart's business. Real examples from the bank:
- Strategy: Launch grocery on Flipkart and How do you measure selection gaps on Flipkart and how would you address them?
- Root cause: Recently there has been a drop in revenue metrics at Flipkart and returns and cancellations are rising
- Operations meets product: Flipkart is facing issues in delivery of bulky items and the earphone category is seeing a lot of returns
- Product improvement: How would you improve Flipkart? and grow the userbase of users over 60
- Estimation: Estimate the sale of colored TVs in Flipkart during Diwali
- AI: How would you enhance the AI-driven recommendation system at Flipkart?
Not every question is about Flipkart. The set also includes questions about YouTube, Google Maps, Swiggy and Uber, so be ready to reason about any consumer product an Indian user touches daily.
How AllthingsPM does this
Every question above opens its own page with an answer guide, and every page starts a mock. For the two biggest categories, pair the bank with the product sense framework and the guesstimate guide with worked answers, then go back to the Flipkart page and answer cold.
How should you answer each Flipkart question type?
Product sense and design (the biggest group). Start with the user, not the feature. For "grow users over 60 on Flipkart," segment first (first-time online shoppers, children buying for parents, experienced users), pick one segment with a reason, list their pains, then propose two or three ideas and choose. Close with a success metric and a risk.
Root cause and analytical questions. When a metric drops, clarify the metric and the time window, check whether it is a data issue, then split the problem: internal versus external, which platform, which category, which region, new versus returning users. Flipkart panels like commerce detail, so mention things like sale events, seller supply and delivery pincodes when they are relevant.
Estimation. State assumptions out loud and do the arithmetic slowly. For "colored TV sales during Diwali," a clean path is households, TV buyers per year, the share buying online, the share of those buying during the sale window, and Flipkart's share. Sanity check the final number.
Strategy. For "launch grocery on Flipkart," cover why now, who the customer is, how grocery differs from electronics (frequency, perishability, basket size, delivery speed), and what you would launch first.
Behavioral. Rare in the data (3 of 88), but culture fit is explicitly tested in the final round [3]. Have two or three short stories ready about a problem you solved, a disagreement, and a failure.
How AllthingsPM does this
The AI interviewer on AllthingsPM asks follow-ups the way a panel does ("Why that segment?", "What if the data says otherwise?"), then scores the answer. Doing ten of these before placement week is how you find the gaps a real panel would find.
What does a Flipkart APM earn?
Flipkart does not publish APM pay on its program site, so use crowd-sourced data with care:
- Levels.fyi shows a median total compensation of about INR 21.4 lakh a year for Associate Product Manager I at Flipkart, and about INR 30.3 lakh for Associate Product Manager II, based on 150 product manager submissions for the company [5].
- PW Skills reports first-year cash of 16 to 18 lakh for APM 1, plus 8 lakh in stock over four years [6].
- For history, Business Today reported in 2017 that a Flipkart assistant product manager (non IT) role at IIT Delhi placements carried a CTC of Rs 26 lakh per annum [7].
These figures come from different years and methods. Your offer letter is the only number that counts.
How AllthingsPM does this
The money follows the offer, and the offer follows the reps. AllthingsPM costs INR 1,200 a month or INR 8,400 a year, with a free daily JD mock and resume review, which is a small fraction of any figure above.
What should you read to prepare?
Flipkart's own resources page recommends six books: Decode and Conquer and The Product Manager Interview by Lewis Lin, Preparing for Product Interviews by Advaith Sridhar and Akash Ramdas, Swipe to Unlock, Case Interview Secrets by Victor Cheng, and Cracking the PM Interview [4]. It also links articles including "A day in the life of an APM @ Flipkart," "What to do when your metrics dip," and Flipkart's own product and tech blog [4].
You do not need all six. Read one framework book, then spend the rest of your time answering questions out loud.
How AllthingsPM does this
AllthingsPM has a free Decode and Conquer summary with its core frameworks, alongside 111 other book summaries, so you can get the ideas in an evening and move to practice.
What is a 6-week Flipkart APM prep plan?
Most candidates only have the 8 to 10 weeks of the process itself [3]. Start before Flipkart arrives on campus if you can.
| Week | Focus | On AllthingsPM |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Learn one framework each for product sense, root cause and estimation | Book summaries, course lesson on the product sense round |
| 2 | Draft your case study idea: user, pain, evidence | Mock the "problem that bothers you" question |
| 3 | Finish the submission: options, pick, metrics, MVP | Metrics interview questions |
| 4 | One Flipkart product sense question a day, out loud | Flipkart company page |
| 5 | Root cause and estimation, timed | Flipkart root cause and Diwali TV questions |
| 6 | Full mocks with your buddy and the AI; polish your resume | Mock interview, resume review against a JD |
How AllthingsPM does this
The free tier covers one JD mock and one resume review every day, enough for weeks 4 to 6 on its own. If your placement cell shares a Flipkart role description, paste it into the JD mock and the AI builds the interview around that exact role.
Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for Flipkart APM prep
Flipkart gives you a workshop, one buddy and a few weeks. The gap between a shortlist and an offer is how many real cases you have answered out loud before the campus interviews, and that is where AllthingsPM wins.
- The questions are real and Flipkart-specific. 88 Flipkart questions, each with its own page, answer guide and mock, inside a bank of 4,122 from 260 companies.
- It practices back. AI mocks ask follow-ups and score you, in text or voice, from any question or any pasted job description.
- It covers the whole application. Resume review against a JD, an AI PM course built from 604 real PM job postings, book summaries and 455 PM portfolios to study how working PMs present their work.
- It is priced for students. Free every day, then INR 1,200 a month.
Your APM buddy is valuable: a current Flipkart APM knows the panel's taste, and you should use every session. But a buddy gives you a few mocks. AllthingsPM gives you one every day, on real Flipkart questions, for the whole placement season. Use both, and let AllthingsPM carry the volume.
