APM Programs in India 2026: Google, Flipkart and More

Google runs an APM cohort in Bengaluru and Flipkart runs India's original campus APM program. Uber and Atlassian run formal APM programs abroad but hire in India. AllthingsPM lets you practice real questions from all four with AI mocks built from the job description.

Four programs, four very different doors in. Know which one you can actually knock on.

If you want an Associate Product Manager (APM) program in India in 2026, two are genuinely India-based: Google's APM program in Bengaluru, which you apply to online, and Flipkart's APM program, which hires only through campus placements. Uber and Atlassian run well-known APM programs too, but their formal cohorts sit outside India, so Indian candidates reach them through other doors. Whichever you target, the fastest way to prepare is AllthingsPM: paste the posting into an AI mock built from that exact job description and practice from 948 real Google questions, 151 Uber questions and 88 Flipkart questions, one free mock a day.

AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. This guide lists what each program is, who can apply, when, and how the interviews run, with every fact linked to its source.

The chart shows why the question bank is the right starting point: Google alone has 948 real questions on AllthingsPM, more than most candidates will ever see from seniors or placement notes.

How AllthingsPM does this

Each company in the table has its own company page on AllthingsPM, and every question on it can start a scored mock. Pick the program you are targeting, open its page, and run one question a day on the free tier.

What is the Google APM program in Bengaluru?

Google's APM program is its early career product management track for new graduates. The 2026 University Graduate posting was based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, with applications open from 30 September 2025 to 28 October 2025 and onboarding between April and August 2026 [1]. Google describes it as "a highly competitive opportunity designed for exceptional graduates" in a "global rotational programme" [1]. Leland describes it as about two years across two product teams, roughly a year each [2].

Who can apply. The minimum qualifications ask for a degree in product management, computer science, engineering, data science, mathematics, statistics or a related technical field, plus prior internship or academic experience in product management or software development, leadership through entrepreneurial projects, and experience giving technical presentations [1]. Preferred qualifications include exposure to AI and ML concepts in product features, programming, and data analysis or product design experience [1].

How the interviews run. Leland lays out the stages as a recruiter screen, a written assessment, then three to four interview rounds covering technical skills, problem solving, communication and product knowledge [2]. Expect product design ("design X for Y"), product improvement, estimation and analytics questions, plus a technical round.

When to watch. The last cycle opened at the end of September. If the pattern holds, the next Bengaluru cohort posting is the one to watch this autumn on Google's careers site [3].

For the full loop, see our Google product manager interview guide.

How AllthingsPM does this

Paste the Google APM posting into the JD mock and the AI interviewer builds the interview around that role and level, asks follow-ups, and scores each answer. Then work through the 948 Google questions, each with an answer guide.

How does the Flipkart APM program work?

Flipkart says it "was the first in India to create an APM program" [4], and its program site dates the start to 2015 [5]. It is a two-year program of "two 1-year rotations in different product teams," with "business and design bootcamps, monthly seminars and 1:1 mentorship" [4]. When you finish, you "graduate and become a product manager" and can apply to whichever team you want [4].

Who can apply. Flipkart looks for "fresh graduates who have the curiosity to ask the right questions and a drive to solve problems that create an impact" [4]. The catch is the route: Flipkart says it is "currently hiring for the APM role only through our on-campus recruitment program," and tells students to reach out to their college placement coordinators [4]. The program site lists alumni from BITS Pilani, IIT Madras and IIT Bombay [5].

When to watch. The program site says applications for the APM Class of 2028 are open [5]. If your college is on Flipkart's list, the timeline is your placement cell's timeline.

What the interviews test. Our bank has 88 real Flipkart questions, and they skew to commerce problems: launch grocery on Flipkart, the earphone category has too many returns, and estimate colour TV sales during Diwali. Root cause, guesstimate and product improvement all show up.

How AllthingsPM does this

Open the Flipkart company page and start a mock from any of its 88 questions. Before placement week, run the Flipkart posting your cell shares through the resume review against a JD so your one page matches what the panel reads.

Can you join the Uber APM program from India?

Uber's APM program is for "recent university grads with a technical background (computer science degree or equivalent) graduating this year or within one year of graduation" [6]. APMs complete "3 rotations over the course of 24 months across all of Uber," start with a two-week boot camp, and after the first rotation join their class "on a world tour to 4 of Uber's most operationally challenging and unique cities" [6].

Where it runs. APM List describes the flagship program as based in San Francisco and in person, with international candidates who have work authorization able to apply [7]. Uber's own APM page lists Bengaluru and Hyderabad among its locations [6], and Uber hires many product roles in Bengaluru, so an Indian graduate can target both the global cohort and India-based product openings.

How the interviews run. Uber's page lists "a resume review, a take-home product exercise, and several interviews with members of the Uber team across Product, Engineering, and Design" [6]. APM List adds detail: the take-home arrives about two weeks after you apply, you get roughly a week, and it is a slide deck covering the problem, users, solution with wireframes, MVP scope, metrics and go-to-market; then two 45-minute first-round interviews and a virtual onsite of four 45-minute interviews [7]. It says the take-home "decides most outcomes" [7].

When to watch. APM List puts the application window at late August to September, with the deadline historically in late September [7].

How AllthingsPM does this

Uber's take-home is a written product case, and the AI PM course teaches that flow: discovery, metrics, MVP scope and launch, with graded case studies. Then rehearse the interviews on the 151 Uber questions, such as improve the driver pickup experience.

Is the Atlassian APM program open in India?

Atlassian's APM program runs "two, 12-month rotations" and says it does not look for a specific background or degree; it wants communication skills, "a learning mindset and curiosity," leadership, and delivering outcomes [8]. Its APM page says the program "is available to candidates based across North America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand" [8]. India is not on that list.

Atlassian does run graduate hiring in India. Its early careers page lists an India recruiting period of July to December, with the graduate program starting in July [9]. So for Indian students, the realistic path is Atlassian's India graduate intake and later product roles in Bengaluru rather than the APM cohort itself.

What the interviews test. Atlassian builds tools for teams, so expect B2B product sense, prioritisation and strategy. Two of our 13 Atlassian questions: if you were the CPO of Atlassian, what would your growth strategy be, and plan an expansion as a PM at Atlassian.

How AllthingsPM does this

Atlassian postings are B2B and increasingly AI-heavy, so paste the exact posting into the JD mock instead of guessing. The course chapter on the AI PM interview loop covers the strategy and prioritisation answers these panels expect.

Which other companies hire APMs in India?

Beyond these four, Indian startups and SaaS companies hire entry level PMs, often under the title "Product Manager" rather than "APM". Product Leadership names Razorpay, Swiggy, Meesho, CRED and Zomato as companies that "regularly hire APMs or junior product roles," and Zoho, Freshworks, Chargebee, Postman and BrowserStack as SaaS companies building global products from India [10]. IIT Kanpur's EICTA guide notes that Indian companies are "less formalised into annual programme cycles" than US firms, with applications year round and referrals from existing PMs raising your interview odds [11].

That changes the prep: instead of one big October deadline, you face a steady stream of postings, each slightly different. Our longer list of APM programs for 2026 and 2027 covers the global programs, and how to become an AI PM in India covers the AI angle.

How AllthingsPM does this

Resume Job Match finds open PM roles and, if you add your resume, ranks them by fit. Every posting you find can go straight into a JD mock, so a year-round hiring market becomes a year-round practice list.

How should you prepare for an APM interview in India?

All four programs test the same core skills: product sense, analytical thinking, estimation, a bit of technical depth, and clear communication. A realistic eight-week plan:

  1. Weeks 1 and 2: foundations. Learn one structure for product design and one for root cause. Work through the product sense interview guide and the PM interview guide.
  2. Weeks 3 and 4: volume. One mock a day from your target company's page. Write down where the follow-ups caught you.
  3. Weeks 5 and 6: the posting. Paste the actual posting into a JD mock. Google's asks for AI and ML exposure [1]; your answers should show it.
  4. Week 7: the take-home or written test. Uber's take-home and Google's written assessment both reward clear written product thinking [2][7]. Write two full practice cases.
  5. Week 8: polish. Resume against the JD, then one mock a day in voice mode.

Seniors and peer mocks help with calibration. Add one or two, but do not wait for them to start your daily reps.

How AllthingsPM does this

Every step of this plan sits in one account: the question bank for volume, the mock interview for type or voice practice, the JD mock for the posting, and the course for foundations. The free tier covers one JD mock and one resume review a day.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for APM program prep in India

APM interviews in India are short, structured and unforgiving: a campus panel or a Google loop gives you a handful of questions, and each one needs a clear structure, a real metric and a good answer to the follow-up. That skill comes from reps against realistic questions, which is exactly what AllthingsPM is built for.

Here is what you get in one place. AI mocks built from the job description you paste, in text or voice, with follow-ups and a score. 4,122 real questions from 260 companies, including 948 from Google, 151 from Uber and 88 from Flipkart, each with its own page and answer guide. An AI PM course built from 604 real job postings, with 14 graded case studies that train the written thinking Uber's take-home and Google's written test reward. Resume review against a JD, Resume Job Match, 111 book summaries and 455 PM portfolios for career proof.

Other options have real strengths. Seniors who cracked Flipkart know the campus format, and paid coaches can calibrate you before a final round. Use them for one or two sessions late in your prep. For the daily practice that actually builds the skill, AllthingsPM is free to start and INR 1,200 a month for unlimited mocks, less than one coaching hour usually costs.

The verdict: pick your program from the table above, open its company page, and start your first free JD mock today.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to prepare for APM programs in India?

The best way is AllthingsPM: practice real questions from your target company, then run an AI mock built from the exact posting, daily, with a score and follow-ups. Add one or two sessions with a senior or coach for calibration before the final round.

Does Google have an APM program in India?

Yes. Google's 2026 University Graduate APM posting was based in Bengaluru, with applications from 30 September to 28 October 2025 and onboarding from April to August 2026 [1]. It asks for a technical degree and prior product or software experience.

Can I apply to the Flipkart APM program off campus?

Not currently. Flipkart says it hires APMs "only through our on-campus recruitment program" and asks students to contact their placement coordinators [4]. If your college does not host Flipkart, target its PM roles later or other Indian startups that hire junior PMs year round.

Is the Uber APM program open to Indian students?

Uber's flagship APM cohort is in-person in San Francisco, and international candidates with work authorization can apply [7]. Uber also hires product roles in Bengaluru, and its APM page lists Bengaluru and Hyderabad among its locations [6].

Does Atlassian run its APM program in India?

Its APM page lists North America, Australia and New Zealand only [8]. Atlassian does run India graduate recruiting from July to December with a July start [9], which is the practical route for Indian students.

How long are APM programs?

Most run about two years. Flipkart and Atlassian use two 12-month rotations [4][8], Uber uses three rotations over 24 months [6], and Google's runs about two years across two teams [2].
