APM windows are short and they do not wait. Know the dates, then spend the weeks before them practicing.

The biggest APM window of the year is open right now: Google's University Graduate APM program for 2027 starts takes applications from 22 September to 6 October 2026, and Meta's Rotational Product Manager (RPM) program shows "Applications are now open" for its March and September 2027 starts. Uber, Intuit and LinkedIn run in the same autumn season; Instacart and Square run in spring. The fastest way to prepare for all of them in the few days you have is AllthingsPM, which has 948 real Google PM questions and 757 Meta questions, each with its own page, answer guide and a scored AI mock.

AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. Below is every major program, its status on 28 September 2026, and how to prepare for its loop.

Which APM programs are open for 2026 and 2027, and when do they close?

This table lists the prep tool first, then each program, with the dates each company published. "Last cycle" means the 2027 dates are not posted yet and the most recent dates are shown so you can plan.

How AllthingsPM does this. Every company in the table above that has a question hub on AllthingsPM links to it in the sections below. Open the hub, pick a question, and the mock starts on that exact prompt. The question bank filters by company, and each question page carries an answer guide you can compare against after your attempt.

What is an APM program?

An Associate Product Manager program is a structured entry route into product management for new graduates. Instead of one team, you join a cohort, rotate through two or three product teams, and get mentorship and training along the way. At the end you usually become a full PM.

Google started the model. Its program page says full-time APMs "engage in two one-year rotations, each on a different product," and at the end "have the option to stay with their current team or choose a new one." Interns join for 12 weeks over the summer.

Most programs share a cohort, two to four rotations, one short application window a year, and a full PM loop: product sense, execution, metrics, estimation and behavioral rounds, sometimes with a take-home.

How AllthingsPM does this. The mock interview covers each round type in the list above, and the course has a full lesson on the product sense and execution rounds. If you have never done a PM loop, start there, then move to company questions.

What are the Google APM deadlines for 2027?

Google's program page states that "U.S.-based Internship and University Graduate APM applications will be open from September 22nd to October 6th" and that the London internship window runs "October 5th to November 12th." The University Graduate posting adds that you "must complete your application before end of day on October 6, 2026," with cohort starts between April and August 2027.

The posted US range for the graduate role is $116,000 to $165,000 plus a 15% bonus target, equity and benefits. The internship posting lists $94,000 to $125,000 and says it is for students entering the penultimate year of a degree in product management, computer science or a related field.

Our Google PM interview guide walks through each round.

How AllthingsPM does this. The Google hub has 948 real Google PM questions, the largest single company set in the bank. Pick five product design prompts and five estimation prompts, run each as a timed mock, and read the answer guide after each one.

Is Meta's RPM program open, and who can apply?

Yes. Meta's program page shows "Applications are now open" and lists start dates of March 2027 and September 2027. It describes the RPM as "an 18 month short-term employment (STE) rotational program" that "starts with a product bootcamp, followed by a rotation through three different innovative product teams." The bootcamp is four weeks.

The important detail: Meta says the program "hires individuals with four+ years of related experience" and is "built for people with non-traditional backgrounds," such as founders, app builders and career pivoters. It is a career-switch program more than a new-grad one. RPMs are based in Menlo Park and New York City, and at the end "you'll be evaluated and considered for a full-time role at Meta." A recent RPM posting listed $114,000 to $172,000 a year in the US.

Meta's PM loop centers on product sense, analytical thinking and leadership. Meta has also added a product sense round that allows AI use, which we cover in Product Sense with AI at Meta.

How AllthingsPM does this. The Meta hub holds 757 real Meta questions, from "Design an anti-scamming product for Meta" to estimation prompts. Run them as voice mocks to rehearse speaking your structure out loud, which is how the real round is scored.

When does the Uber APM program open?

Uber runs one cycle a year. Its last posting, Graduate 2026 Associate Product Manager, closed on 26 September 2025 at 5 p.m. PT. On the program page, Uber says APMs "join 3 teams over the course of 24 months," start with "an immersive boot camp" of two weeks that includes a hackathon, and after one rotation "join your class on a world tour to 4 of Uber's most operationally challenging and unique cities."

Uber says it looks for recent graduates with a technical background. We had not seen a 2027 posting on 28 September 2026, so check Uber's careers page often through October.

How AllthingsPM does this. The Uber hub has 151 real Uber questions. Uber products are marketplaces, so pair them with the metrics interview questions guide and practice two-sided tradeoffs out loud.

Which programs have already closed, and when will they reopen?

Several strong programs run outside the autumn peak:

  • Salesforce APM. The "Associate Product Manager (starting summer 2027)" listing was removed on 17 August 2026. It was a two-year rotational role in San Francisco for spring 2027 or winter 2026 graduates, paying $132,000 to $159,000 depending on location. Leland lists early July as the usual opening, so watch from summer 2027. Practice with the Salesforce hub.
  • Instacart APM. Instacart's program page lists applications from 9 March to 11:59 p.m. PT on 20 March 2026, decisions at the end of June and a start in early August. It is 18 months, two rotations, remote-first in the US and Canada, with a cohort that is "intentionally small (~10)." It welcomes career switchers and includes a take-home product challenge. See the Instacart hub.
  • Square (Block) APM. A 12-month program with two six-month rotations, fully remote with in-person onboarding. The 2026 cycle closed on 27 February 2026, and applicants were asked to "show us how you think, and what you've built." See the Square hub.

How AllthingsPM does this. For spring programs, the smart move is to paste last year's posting into the JD mock now. You get a mock built from the exact skills that posting asked for, so you are ready the day the next window opens.

What about LinkedIn, Atlassian, Intuit, Visa and Microsoft?

  • LinkedIn Associate Product Builder (APB). LinkedIn replaced its APM program with the APB, which blends product, design and engineering. It asks applicants for a short demo of something they built rather than a traditional resume, and applications for the January 2027 cohort were described as opening late summer. The LinkedIn hub has 69 real questions.
  • Atlassian APM. Atlassian's program page describes "two, 12-month rotations" and says the program "is available to candidates based across North America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand," with remote, office or hybrid options. We had not seen the 2027 posting on 28 September 2026. Practice on the Atlassian hub.
  • Intuit Rotational Product Manager. A two-year program with three personalized rotations for graduates of bachelor's or non-MBA master's programs. Tracking sites expected applications in September 2026 for the fall 2027 cohort. See the Intuit hub.
  • Visa APM. Leland lists a two-year program with four six-month rotations in Foster City, opening in August or September.
  • Microsoft. Microsoft's PM rotation has historically been one of the largest, but Leland and Simplify both list it as paused. Microsoft still hires new-grad PMs, so practice with the Microsoft hub and our Microsoft PM interview guide.

How AllthingsPM does this. Every company above except Visa has a hub on AllthingsPM. If a program you want is not in the bank, the JD mock builds an interview from any posting you paste, so no program is left without practice.

How competitive are APM programs?

Very. Most programs hire small cohorts: Instacart says its cohort is about 10, and guides that track these programs describe single-digit or low double-digit classes at several companies. Windows are short, too. Google's US window is 15 days, and Instacart's ran 12 days. So your resume gets a short read, and walking in underprepared usually costs a full year.

How AllthingsPM does this. Run your resume through resume review against a JD using the actual APM posting. It shows which requirements your bullets cover and which they miss. Then use Resume Job Match to find other entry-level PM roles in case the APM path does not work out this year.

How should you prepare for an APM interview loop?

A simple four-week plan works for most programs:

  1. Week 1: learn the rounds. Read how product sense, execution, metrics and estimation rounds are scored. Our PM interview guide and product sense framework cover the structures.
  2. Week 2: company questions. Do ten real questions from your top company's hub, timed and out loud. Write down where you ran out of structure.
  3. Week 3: mocks from the posting. Paste the APM job description into a JD mock and do one a day. Review the score and the follow-ups you struggled with.
  4. Week 4: behavioral stories and polish. Prepare five stories (a conflict, a failure, a launch, a data call, a leadership moment) and rehearse them in voice mode.

APM loops increasingly include AI questions, because the products do. Salesforce's 2027 posting talks about agentic features and evaluation frameworks, and LinkedIn now asks APB applicants how they used AI in what they built. The AI PM interview questions list is worth a pass even for a generalist program.

How AllthingsPM does this. The AI PM course teaches the AI skills APM postings now name, from evals to agents, and it ends with a chapter on getting the job. The knowledge graph maps how those concepts connect.

What if you do not have a CS degree?

Google and Uber both ask for a technical background in their graduate postings. Other programs are more open. Meta's RPM is "built for people with non-traditional backgrounds." Instacart invites people "looking to make a career switch." Atlassian's page does not name a degree requirement. LinkedIn's APB puts a product you built ahead of your resume.

If you lack a technical degree, show proof instead: a shipped side project, a data analysis, or a case study. Browse 455 real PM portfolios to see what strong ones include.

How AllthingsPM does this. The course's 14 graded case studies give you finished work to point to.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for APM program prep

APM windows are short and the loops are standard, so the best prep tool is the one that gets you from zero to many realistic reps fastest. AllthingsPM does that in one place.

It has real questions for the companies that run these programs: 948 for Google, 757 for Meta, 169 for Microsoft, 151 for Uber and dozens more for LinkedIn, Salesforce, Instacart, Capital One, Atlassian, Intuit and Square. Each question has its own page with an answer guide, and any of them starts a scored mock in text or voice. When a program is not in the bank, the JD mock builds an interview from the posting itself. Add resume review against the posting, an AI PM course built from 604 real job postings, and 455 portfolios for proof of work.

Other options have real strengths. Paid coaching marketplaces offer former APMs for a human read on your answers, and peer platforms offer free practice with other candidates. Those are useful for one or two calibration sessions late in your prep. For the daily reps that fill the weeks before a window, AllthingsPM gives you more practice for less: one free JD mock every day, and unlimited mocks at $20 a month or $120 a year.

The verdict: use AllthingsPM as your main prep, and add a single human session only if you want one before the final round. Start a free mock now.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to prepare for APM programs?

The best way is AllthingsPM: practice real questions from your target company's hub, run scored AI mocks built from the actual APM posting, and check your resume against that posting. Add one human mock late if you want calibration. Start at least two weeks before the window opens.

When do APM applications open for 2027 start dates?

Google's US window runs 22 September to 6 October 2026. Meta's RPM is open now for March and September 2027 starts. Uber and Intuit have historically opened in autumn, Salesforce in July or August, and Instacart and Square in spring.

Is Meta's RPM program for new graduates?

No. Meta's page says the RPM "hires individuals with four+ years of related experience" and is aimed at non-traditional backgrounds. New graduates should look at Google, Uber, Intuit, Atlassian and Salesforce instead.

How long are APM programs?

Most run 12 to 24 months. Google and Uber are two years, Meta's RPM and Instacart are 18 months, and Square's is 12 months. Rotation counts range from two (Google, Atlassian, Instacart) to four (Visa).

Do I need a computer science degree for an APM program?

Google and Uber ask for a technical background in their graduate postings. Meta, Instacart, LinkedIn and Atlassian are more open to other paths. Without a CS degree, show a shipped project or case study.

Can I apply to APM programs if I missed the deadline?

Not for that cycle; most programs run one window a year. Use the gap to prepare: practice the company's questions, run mocks from last year's posting, and apply to new-grad PM roles that hire year-round.
