A Decagon product manager is usually a Senior Agent Product Manager: a senior individual contributor who wins a Fortune 500 account, builds its AI support agent and owns the relationship with the customer's C-suite. AllthingsPM holds 10 Decagon PM job descriptions in its jobs catalog, and each one has a scored mock interview built from its own text, the fastest way to rehearse for the exact Decagon role you want. 7 of the 10 are Senior Agent PM roles (US pay $200K to $285K plus equity), and 3 are platform PM roles (Product Manager, Enterprise Agent Platform and Duet, at $232K to $290K plus equity).
AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. Below is what every Decagon posting says, what it pays, what it quietly screens for, and how to prepare.
How did we read Decagon's PM job descriptions?
We pulled every Decagon posting from the AllthingsPM jobs catalog on 29 September 2026. The catalog read them from Decagon's Ashby job board on 22 September. We cut the text every posting shares (the About Decagon block, the four company values and the benefits list) and counted what remained: years, pay, customer work, technical depth, languages and regulated data.
The same day we checked Decagon's live board through Ashby's public job API [1]. It listed 9 PM roles, all 9 of them in our catalog. The one we hold that had come down is Product Manager, Duet. We kept it, because it is the clearest view of what Decagon wants from a PM on an AI product rather than an account, and it is still good practice.
How AllthingsPM does this. Every row in the next table is a page in our jobs catalog with the full posting and a Start mock button. The JD mock interview asks questions drawn from that posting's own requirements, follows up on weak answers and scores you, typed or spoken. You do not paste or prompt anything.

What does a Decagon Senior Agent PM actually do?
The seven Agent PM postings share one core. The role "owns the successful delivery, adoption, and expansion of AI solutions for Decagon's customers, serving as the primary technical and strategic owner" [2]. You earn the trust of the customer's leadership, scope a solution, then build the working agent.
Decagon is blunt about the altitude. "Your counterpart is the C-suite," the team section says, and the job is described as "the executive influence of a top strategy consulting leader, the instincts of a product builder, and the ownership of a founder" [2]. The postings also say what it is not: "not a standardized implementation role, and it is not an account management or customer success role."
The six duties repeat almost word for word across all seven:
- Own the technical win on Decagon's largest strategic deals, with Sales, Solutions Engineers and forward deployed engineers.
- Serve as executive partner to Fortune 500 C-suites and own their AI transformation roadmap.
- Design, build and optimize enterprise-grade agents in production.
- Turn your frameworks and playbooks into reusable assets that feed Decagon's product roadmap.
- Direct forward deployed engineers and partner teams while staying accountable for the outcome.
- Run tight feedback loops into Product and Engineering.
Decagon's own blog backs this up. Max Lowenthal, an Agent PM there, wrote that the team works "directly with brands to bring their AI agents to life, and then grow them into core parts of their businesses" [6]. For a longer look at how this job differs from a classic PM seat, read our explainer on the Agent Product Manager role.
How AllthingsPM does this. The Agent PM job is half pre-sales and half build, so the mock built from the San Francisco Senior Agent PM posting asks both kinds of question: how you would win a skeptical buyer and how you would design the agent after the signature. Our bank has the real version of that tension, such as a Fortune 500 prospect who doubts an AI agent can match their brand.
What background does Decagon want for Agent PMs?
Six of the seven Agent PM postings list the same five requirements. The seventh, Australia, has a placeholder in its requirements section, so we count only what it states.
- 6+ years of "owning ambiguous, high-stakes outcomes and earning the trust of senior executives."
- A builder's instinct: you want to build the solution, "not just diagnose the problem."
- Strong technical acumen: you can "understand and shape AI agent designs."
- Executive presence and a record as a trusted advisor at large organizations.
- Comfort with ambiguity where you "shape the solution as much as you implement it."
The candidate pool is spelled out, and it is wider than most PM postings. Decagon names "engagement managers, project leaders, and senior managers from top consulting firms, as well as product managers, founders, and forward-deployed or solutions roles at high-growth technology companies" [2]. If you come from consulting, this is one of the few AI PM jobs that invites you in by name.
The "Even better" list is identical across all seven: a CS, Engineering or Math degree or equivalent hands-on experience; an MBA or equivalent business and technology experience; and experience selling, deploying or advising on enterprise software at the Fortune 500 level.
How AllthingsPM does this. Consultants who apply here usually need the technical half; engineers usually need the executive half. The AllthingsPM AI PM course covers both, with a chapter on agents and agentic architecture and one on shipping into somebody else's company, which is the Agent PM job in one line.
How are the language and healthcare Agent PM roles different?
Two postings add a language. The Brazil role requires "Fluent in Brazilian Portuguese," and the New York role requires "Fluent in Spanish" [3][12]. The rest of both postings match the general Agent PM text.
The healthcare role is the most distinct of the ten. It asks for 6+ years with "at least 3 of those years in healthcare" and covers customers "across Payer, Provider, Pharmacy, Labs, and Life Sciences" [5]. It names the workflows you would build agents for: benefits and eligibility, claims and prior authorization status, scheduling, Rx and adherence outreach, care-gap closure, post-discharge follow-up and HCP inquiries.
It also adds a duty no other posting has: owning "the trust posture on your accounts," from PHI handling and consent to escalation to licensed clinical staff and the audit evidence a security review will ask for. It wants experience with "HIPAA, BAA, PHI minimization, SOC 2 or HITRUST." You would be "among the first dedicated healthcare Agent PMs on the team."
How AllthingsPM does this. The healthcare mock asks about exactly those constraints, because it is built from that posting. For the security review angle, practice a top bank whose security review blocks launch, and read our study of healthcare AI PM roles across companies.
What do Decagon's platform PM roles ask for?
The other three postings sit on the Product Management team that "owns Decagon's platform and foundational features: agent building, testing, experimentation, analytics, QA, versioning, integrations, and enterprise controls" [4]. All three say you will be "one of our founding PMs."
Product Manager (general). You own the roadmap for a major product area. Examples include AI features that "turn raw conversation data into instant, actionable insights" and self-serve configuration "powered by real-time AI guidance." It asks for 6+ years as a PM, founder, engineer or researcher, and comfort "discussing APIs, data models, and architecture with engineers" [7].
Product Manager, Enterprise Agent Platform. You own integrations, headless and SDK deployment, external APIs, developer experience and channel partnerships. Decagon calls it "the least solved part of enterprise AI," because getting an agent live in a bank "means wiring into systems built decades before LLMs existed, then clearing a security organization whose job is to say no" [8]. It wants experience building API platforms or developer products, and comfort with security reviews. Pluses include iPaaS, RPA, browser automation, and GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and PCI.
Product Manager, Duet. Duet analyzes production conversations, finds where agents fall short and "generates and validates AOP updates" with human approval gates [4]. The posting's thesis: "the initial deployment is 10% of the work. The other 90% is what comes after." It is the only posting that asks you to "develop evaluation criteria for Duet's AI output quality," and to "read an agent trace." It wants 5+ years of PM experience at an AI, developer tooling or enterprise software company.
AOPs, or Agent Operating Procedures, are Decagon's core idea. Its product page says they let you "define agent behavior in natural language, the same way you train human agents with SOPs" [9]. Expect to discuss them in any platform interview.
How AllthingsPM does this. Each platform role has its own mock, so you can rehearse Enterprise Agent Platform and Duet separately. For the Duet eval duty, the course lesson on agent evals walks through judging agent output, and our bank asks how you would build a metrics framework for Decagon's developer experience.
How does Decagon pay compare across its PM roles?
Decagon publishes pay on 9 of 10 postings. Three things stand out.
- Platform PMs have a higher base band in the US. $232K to $290K against $200K to $285K for Agent PMs [1].
- Agent PMs in the US and Brazil also get commission. The live board lists "Offers Commission" on those roles, which fits a job that owns the technical win on deals. The London and platform roles do not list it.
- London is lower. £145K to £180K plus equity. Australia publishes no range.
Every posting describes Decagon as "an in-office company." That is worth weighing before you apply. The company has the backing to pay these ranges: in January 2026 it raised a $250 million Series D led by Coatue and Index Ventures at a $4.5 billion valuation [10], and in March 2026 it ran an employee tender at the same valuation [11].
How AllthingsPM does this. Pay bands this high come with a hard loop. Before you apply, run your resume through resume review against a JD on the exact Decagon posting, then use Resume Job Match to see similar Agent PM roles elsewhere.
What does Decagon quietly screen for?
Read the ten postings together and four signals repeat.
- Builder over advisor. "If you have ever wanted to build the solution instead of hand off the recommendation" appears in all seven Agent PM postings. Say what you built, not what you recommended.
- Leverage through others. Agent PMs "direct" forward deployed engineers. Show you have led people who did not report to you.
- Playbooks, not one-offs. Every Agent PM posting asks you to turn account lessons into "reusable assets." Our bank asks how you would convert a flagship deployment into reusable playbooks.
- Judgment on AI output. The platform roles want you to have opinions on whether an output "is good or not." Bring one example of a quality bar you defined.
How AllthingsPM does this. Our Decagon interview guide covers the loop candidates describe, and the Decagon company page has 47 questions with answer guides. The mock then pressure-tests all four signals with follow-ups.
Why is AllthingsPM the better choice for Decagon PM prep?
Decagon's own careers page tells you what the job is. It does not let you practice it. Generic PM prep sites give you product sense and estimation drills, which matter less here than winning a skeptical C-suite and designing an agent that holds up in production.
AllthingsPM is built around the posting. All 10 Decagon PM job descriptions are in the jobs catalog, each with a mock interview generated from its text, typed or spoken, with follow-ups and a score. Alongside that you get 47 Decagon questions with answer guides, a 4,122 question bank across 260 companies, and an AI PM course built from 604 real PM job postings with chapters on agents, evals and enterprise deployment.
Human coaching platforms have experienced interviewers, and that has real value for a final round. For the daily reps that a 6+ year, C-suite-facing role demands, AllthingsPM gives you the course, the questions, the JD mocks and resume review against the same posting for $20 a month or $120 a year, with a free tier to start.
If you are applying to Decagon, the verdict is simple: rehearse on the posting itself. Start a free Decagon mock on AllthingsPM.
