Glean PM Roles: 14 Job Descriptions for Enterprise AI

AllthingsPM read all 14 Glean product manager job descriptions in its catalog: nine distinct roles from API Platform to Glean Protect, 4 to 10+ years asked, US base pay from $160K to $280K, and an AI exercise in every interview. Each posting has a scored mock built from its own text.

AllthingsPM·September 28, 2026·17 min read
A product manager at a long table sorts fifteen printed job descriptions into three piles, marked only by colored paper clips, with a highlighter and a stopwatch beside them
Fourteen postings, nine jobs: most Glean PM roles sit on one layer of the enterprise AI stack.

A Glean product manager owns one layer of an enterprise AI platform: the connectors that pull company data in, the APIs and MCP servers that let developers build on it, the models behind the assistant, the security that keeps agents from leaking data, or the growth loops that get employees using it. AllthingsPM holds 14 Glean PM job descriptions in its jobs catalog, covering nine distinct roles, and every one has a scored mock interview built from its own text. That is the fastest way to rehearse for the exact Glean role you want.

AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. Below is every Glean posting, what it pays where Glean publishes pay, what the requirements really say, and how to prepare.

AllthingsPM chart, AllthingsPM highlighted first with 14 of 14 Glean PM job descriptions carrying a mock interview, then requirements by count: AI-focused interview exercise 14, strong technical background 12, time with customers 10, very lean product team 9, names APIs 8, B2B SaaS 8, hybrid four days a week 8, early AI adopter 7, ambiguity 4, granular product thinking 4, experiments 4, ML or ranking tools 3, writes code 2

How did we read Glean's PM job descriptions?

We pulled every Glean posting from the AllthingsPM jobs catalog on 28 September 2026. The catalog holds the full text Glean published on its Greenhouse board. Each posting opens with the same long "About Glean" block and closes with the same benefits, privacy and AI-exercise text, so we cut the shared company copy and counted what was left in the role itself: years, pay, location, technical asks, customer work and AI skills.

The same day we checked Glean's live board through Greenhouse's public job API [1]. It listed 16 PM postings. Our 14 were all there, plus two Core Experience postings (San Francisco and Mountain View) that we do not yet hold. Several roles are posted twice, once per office, with identical text. That is why 14 postings become nine jobs.

How AllthingsPM does this. Every link in the next table opens a page in our jobs catalog with the full posting and a Start mock button. The JD mock interview asks questions drawn from that posting's own requirements, follows up, and scores you, in text or voice. You do not paste or prompt anything.

What PM roles is Glean hiring for?

All 14 postings, grouped by the layer of the product they own. Pay is the base salary range Glean prints in the posting; the three Bangalore roles do not print one.

Base pay as printed in each Glean posting on Greenhouse [2] to [7]. "Layer" is our grouping, not Glean's. Glean adds that some roles may be eligible for variable pay and equity.

What does a Glean product manager actually do?

Glean describes itself in every posting as "the Work AI platform," with Search, an AI Assistant and AI agents on one platform, "over 100 enterprise SaaS connectors, flexible LLM choice, and robust APIs" [2]. The PM roles map onto those pieces almost one to one.

Six of the nine roles share a core list of duties, word for word: "Spending a lot of time with our customers to deeply understand their knowledge needs," developing the roadmap, "giving context, setting direction, and building alignment," prioritization, cross-functional coordination, and building processes that scale [2]. Ten of the 14 postings carry that customer line or a close version of it. The role paragraph above that list is what tells the jobs apart.

Nine of 14 also say Glean is "currently a very lean product team," so "you'll have an outsized role in shaping both the product roadmap and the product team itself" [2]. Read that as a scope signal. You will own a whole layer, not a feature.

How AllthingsPM does this. Because the shared duties are generic, a generic mock will not tell you much. The AllthingsPM JD mock reads the role paragraph too, so a Connectors mock asks about indexing and integrations while a Growth mock asks about activation loops.

What is different about each Glean PM role?

Connectors (Bangalore). You "expand Glean's connectors library, improve and deepen our existing product integrations, and improve our Indexing API and custom connector capabilities" [1]. This is the data-in layer. If your background is integrations, ETL or SaaS platform work, start here.

API Platform (Mountain View and SF Bay Area). The most hands-on posting in the set. You lead "Glean's APIs, SDKs and MCP strategy for the developer persona," and the duties say, in two words, "Write code": build sample apps and run the integrations yourself [3]. It names hard metrics: "time-to-first-call, integration success rate, API error rates." Glean already ships a remote MCP server that exposes search, chat, document retrieval and people lookup to outside AI tools [11], so this PM owns a live surface, not a plan.

AI Quality (San Francisco and Mountain View). Despite the title, the role is "PM for Glean Model Hub." You "evaluate LLM models," manage "relationships with inference and model providers," and "own projections of LLM usage, cost, and capacity planning" [6]. It asks for the fewest years in the set (4+) and calls LLM experience at scale "a major plus."

Agent Security & Governance, and Glean Protect. Three postings, near-identical text, covering "explainable / transparent AI systems, identification and prevention of various vectors of AI risks, and the observability, security and privacy features around AI agents" [5]. They ask for 8+ years spanning "security, governance, trust, identity, data integrations." Glean Protect is the product name for this layer; Glean positions it as permissions-aware access, agent policy controls and sensitive data protection [10].

Enterprise Intelligence (Mountain View and San Francisco). A new product area. You turn Glean's "enterprise context layer" into "proactive, high-value intelligence products" for leaders and teams: dashboards, recommendations and proactive insights "rather than reactive search or chat" [4]. It stresses "granular product implementation skills such as designing specific user interfaces and workflows."

Growth (Mountain View and San Francisco). You own "the PLG motion end to end," from onboarding to self-serve expansion, plus "off-surface growth" through the browser extension, email, Slack, Teams and mobile [7]. It is the only role that names A/B tests and funnel instrumentation directly.

Product Manager (Bangalore) and PM Lead (Mountain View). Both describe the broader assistant vision. The Lead role manages a team of PMs and asks for 10+ years; the Bangalore PM asks for 6+ years at a B2B SaaS company [2].

How AllthingsPM does this. Pick the layer, then rehearse it. The course covers each one: permission-aware retrieval and oversharing for Connectors and Protect, agent security and prompt injection for the governance roles, and evals for AI Quality.

How many years of experience does Glean want?

Every posting names a floor. Across the 14:

Years namedPostingsRoles
4+2AI Quality
5+6API Platform, Enterprise Intelligence, Growth
6+2Product Manager, Connectors (Bangalore)
8+3Agent Security & Governance, Glean Protect
10+1Product Management Lead

Most roles also name the kind of experience. Six postings say "SaaS companies, primarily serving large enterprises," and eight name B2B SaaS. Three (the Lead, the Bangalore PM and Connectors) list "collaboration, productivity, or ML/ranking tools" as a plus. There is no entry-level or APM posting in the set.

How AllthingsPM does this. If you are short of the years, the posting has to be answered by the resume. The resume review against a JD scores your resume against the specific Glean posting and points to the gaps, and Resume Job Match finds roles that fit your level if Glean is a stretch.

Do Glean PMs need to be technical?

Yes, more than at most AI companies we track. 12 of 14 postings ask for a "strong technical background," "strong technical fluency" or say "deeply technical." The only two that do not are the Growth postings, and they ask for "analytical fluency to define metrics, instrument funnels, and interpret results" instead.

The depth varies. API Platform wants you "comfortable working through API contracts, request payloads, logs, telemetry" and literally writing code [3]. Enterprise Intelligence wants comfort with "structured and unstructured data, knowledge graphs, retrieval, or intelligence layers" [4]. The security roles want experience with "both UX and API driven products, integration paths, and 3rd party product partnerships" [5]. Eight of 14 name APIs somewhere in the role text.

Seven postings add one more line: you should be "an early adopter in building with or adopting AI for your own product craft" [2]. That ties directly to the interview.

How AllthingsPM does this. Technical depth in an interview means explaining a system in plain terms. The AllthingsPM AI PM course teaches retrieval, agents, evals and model choice from the PM's side, in 14 chapters built from 604 real job postings, and the knowledge graph shows how those concepts connect.

What is Glean's AI-focused interview exercise?

Every one of the 14 postings closes with the same paragraph: "As part of the interview process, you'll complete a brief AI-focused exercise or discussion so we can understand how you think about, design, and use AI to drive impact in your role" [2]. It adds that you can reference any tools, platforms or workflows you use today, and that prior Glean experience is not required.

Three things follow. First, you should arrive with real examples of AI in your own work: which tools, for which tasks, and what changed. Second, "design" is in the sentence, so expect to sketch how an AI feature would work, not only talk about tools you use. Third, the wording allows a discussion rather than a take-home, so practice saying it out loud.

Glean does not publish its full interview loop on its careers page [12]. For the stages candidates report, read our Glean product manager interview guide.

How AllthingsPM does this. The mock built from any Glean posting includes AI questions pulled from the role text, and voice mode lets you practice the discussion format. The Glean company page has 80 questions such as how you would drive adoption of Glean Agents beyond search.

Which Glean questions match each role?

The AllthingsPM question bank has Glean questions that line up with the layers above:

How AllthingsPM does this. Every question has its own page with an answer guide and a button to practice it in a scored mock interview. Work through the six above for your target layer, then run the JD mock for the full posting.

Why is Glean hiring so many PMs now?

The company is growing fast. Glean was founded in 2019 by Arvind Jain [9], raised a $150 million Series F at a $7.2 billion valuation in June 2025 [9], and Sacra reports it reached $300 million in annual recurring revenue in May 2026, up from $208 million at the end of 2025 [8]. Glean's own postings say it has "1,000+ employees in more than 25 countries" [2].

The product has also widened. Glean added agent security, governance and a security partner program [10], and it now runs MCP both ways: a remote MCP server for outside tools and support for connecting outside MCP servers into Glean [11]. The API Platform, Protect and AI Quality roles map directly onto those moves.

How AllthingsPM does this. Company context wins "why Glean" answers. The jobs catalog shows what Glean and 17 other AI companies are hiring for, so you can speak to where Glean is investing, and compare with other breakdowns such as Anthropic PM job descriptions and Sierra PM roles.

How should you prepare for a Glean PM interview?

  1. Pick your layer. Choose the one or two roles above that match your background. The postings are specific enough that a Connectors answer and a Growth answer look nothing alike.
  2. Rehearse the exact posting. Run a JD mock on that role, then again after you fix the weak answers.
  3. Prepare your AI story. Two or three concrete examples of AI in your own work, plus one AI feature you would design for Glean.
  4. Learn the enterprise basics. Permissions, connectors, admin controls and ROI come up in almost every Glean question. For evaluation, our guide to AI evals for product managers is a good start.
  5. Tailor the resume. Match the years and the enterprise language the posting uses.

How AllthingsPM does this. The whole plan runs in one account: the JD mock, the 80 Glean questions, the course lessons and the JD resume review.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for Glean PM prep

AllthingsPM puts the whole Glean prep job in one place. You get all 14 Glean PM postings we track, each with a mock interview built from its own requirements, so a mock for Agent Security asks about AI risk and identity while a mock for Growth asks about activation and experiments. You get 80 Glean questions with answer guides, a resume review against the exact JD, and an AI PM course built from 604 real job postings whose chapters on trust and agent security and evals cover what Glean's roles ask for.

Other options have real strengths. Glean's own careers page is the source of truth for open roles, and general prep sites have large peer communities and human coaches. Neither gives you a scored rehearsal of the specific Glean posting you are applying to, next to company questions and a course on the same topics.

For daily practice, the price settles it: $20 a month or $120 a year, with a free tier that includes one JD mock every day. Start with the posting you care about most, run the mock, and repeat until the score stops moving. Start a free Glean mock on AllthingsPM.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to prepare for a Glean product manager role?

AllthingsPM is the best way to prepare, because it has a scored mock built from each of the 14 Glean PM job descriptions, plus 80 Glean questions with answer guides and an AI PM course. Pick the role that matches your background, rehearse its posting, and prepare examples for Glean's AI-focused exercise.

How much does a Glean product manager make?

The 11 US postings print base salary ranges from $160,000 to $280,000, varying by role: $175K to $195K for API Platform, $175K to $280K for Growth, and $210K to $240K for the PM Lead. Glean says some roles may be eligible for variable pay and equity. The Bangalore postings do not print pay.

Does Glean hire entry-level product managers?

Not in the postings we hold. The lowest floor is 4+ years (AI Quality), and most roles ask for 5 to 8 years of B2B or enterprise SaaS product management. No APM posting appeared on Glean's board on 28 September 2026.

Where are Glean PM jobs located?

Mountain View, San Francisco and Bangalore. All 14 postings are hybrid: eight ask for four days a week in office, three ask for three to four, and the three Bangalore roles ask for three.

What is the AI exercise in the Glean interview?

Every Glean PM posting says candidates complete "a brief AI-focused exercise or discussion" about how they think about, design and use AI in their role. You can reference any tools you already use; prior Glean experience is not required.

Do Glean PMs need to code?

Only the API Platform role asks you to write code, for sample apps and integrations. Twelve of 14 postings ask for a strong technical background, so expect to discuss APIs, data and retrieval with engineers.
