What this question tests

Whether the candidate can facilitate group creativity and defines success beyond just generating a lot of ideas.

How to approach it

  1. Situation: briefly set up the context, for example a stalled feature roadmap or a team lacking a clear direction.
  2. Task: state your role in organizing or leading the session and the specific goal, such as generating three viable concepts in two hours.
  3. Action: describe the structure used, such as individual silent brainstorming before group discussion, and how you managed dominant voices or scope creep.
  4. Result: state a concrete outcome, such as one idea that shipped and its measured impact, not just 'we had a good discussion'.
  5. Reflect briefly on why the structure, not just the topic, made the session successful.
