AllthingsPM vs Final Round AI: a practice tool or an interview copilot

AllthingsPM is the better Final Round AI alternative for product managers: it trains you before the interview with AI mocks built from any job description, 4,122 real PM questions and an AI PM course, for $20 a month with a free tier. Final Round AI's core product is a live copilot that feeds answers during real interviews, which Amazon and Anthropic say candidates should not use.

Short answer: if you are a product manager looking for a Final Round AI alternative, choose AllthingsPM. AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. It trains you before the interview: AI mock interviews built from any job description you paste, 4,122 real PM questions from 260 companies with answer guides, and a 101 lesson AI PM course, for $20 a month or $120 a year, with one free JD mock every day. Final Round AI is built around a different idea: its Interview CoPilot listens to your live interview and shows suggested answers in a private window. Amazon and Anthropic both tell candidates not to use AI help during live interviews unless they say otherwise.

So the real question is not "which AI is smarter". It is whether you want a tool that makes you better, or one that answers for you in the room.

Every Final Round AI fact below comes from Final Round AI's own live pages, checked on September 28, 2026. We did not buy a Final Round AI plan, so we describe its features in its own words.

What is Final Round AI, exactly?

Final Round AI sells several tools, but its headline product is Interview CoPilot. In its own words, CoPilot "listens to your live interview and delivers real-time answers in a private window only you can see". It says it works on "Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex, HackerRank, CoderPad and phone screens" and "detects behavioral, coding, system design, case and domain questions without mode switching".

Around that it adds Stealth Mode, which it describes as keeping the assistant "off screen shares and recordings", plus automatic debriefs after a session, screen help for coding and system design, and a Practice Interview mode. Its FAQ is careful on detection: it recommends "testing your setup before the interview" because "real-world setups can vary by OS, meeting app version, and device policy".

Final Round AI's real strength is breadth: it serves every kind of job seeker, claims "10M+" users in "80+ countries", and supports "143 languages and accents". If you want one tool for many job types, that reach is real.

How AllthingsPM does this: we built the opposite tool on purpose. Everything on AllthingsPM happens before the interview: you rehearse with an AI interviewer in practice, study the gaps in the AI PM course, and walk in without anything running on your screen.

Is using an AI interview copilot allowed?

For most PM candidates at large tech and AI companies, the published answer is no, unless the company says otherwise.

  • Amazon. Guidelines reported in March 2025 ask candidates: "please do not use GenAI tools during your interview unless explicitly permitted", and say breaking that can lead to disqualification. Interviewers were also given signs to watch for, such as a candidate typing while being asked a question or appearing to read an answer.
  • Anthropic. Its candidate AI guidance invites you to "use Claude to research Anthropic, practice your answers, and prepare questions for us". For live interviews it says no AI assistance unless Anthropic indicates otherwise, because "we're curious to see how you think through problems in real time".
  • Google. In 2025, Sundar Pichai said Google would make sure candidates have at least one in-person interview round, a move widely reported as a response to AI cheating in virtual interviews.

Notice the pattern. Employers are not against AI in prep. Anthropic explicitly encourages practice with AI. What they rule out is help inside the live interview, which is the core job of a copilot.

How AllthingsPM does this: AllthingsPM sits entirely on the allowed side of that line. It is the "practice your answers" part of Anthropic's guidance, done with an interviewer that asks follow-ups and scores you. You can even rehearse on a live posting such as Product Manager, Growth at Anthropic and read the Anthropic question hub before the real loop.

Why does a copilot fit PM interviews badly?

Even where a copilot is not banned, PM interviews are an unusually poor fit for one.

A PM product sense or strategy round is a conversation. The interviewer pushes on your assumptions ("why that user segment?", "what would you cut?") and follows your reasoning for 30 to 45 minutes. The signal is how you think in real time, which is exactly the phrase Anthropic uses. A short answer streamed into a side window cannot know which trade off you set up two minutes ago, and reading it aloud is the behaviour Amazon's interviewers were told to look for.

PM loops also end in person more and more often. Google's move to at least one in-person round means that whatever you practised with has to live in your head by the final stage.

That is why the prep that works for PMs is testing yourself out loud, many times, before the day. Learning research supports it: Roediger and Karpicke (2006) found that practising retrieval produced better recall a week later than re-reading the same material. A good AI interviewer is a cheap way to get those reps.

How AllthingsPM does this: every one of our 4,122 question bank pages lets you answer out loud, take follow-ups and get a score, then read the written answer guide on the same page. Our course lesson on the AI product sense and execution rounds teaches the structure the interviewer is listening for.

How do the mock interviews compare?

Both products have an AI interviewer you can practise with. The differences are in who it is built for and where it starts.

The AllthingsPM JD mock interview page: paste a job description and get a mock built around that exact role, company and level, scored like a panel
AllthingsPM JD mock: questions come from the responsibilities, product area and seniority in the job description, September 2026
  • Starting point. On AllthingsPM, you paste any job description and the interview is built from its responsibilities, product area and seniority. Final Round AI's free plan parses a JD into a "prep checklist"; its Practice Interview mode is listed under Pro.
  • Focus. AllthingsPM is PM only, so the question types are the ones PM loops use: product sense, execution and metrics, strategy, estimation and behavioral. Final Round AI covers many job families across 8 practice scenarios.
  • Free access. AllthingsPM gives you one JD mock a day free, with no card. Final Round AI's pricing page says "there is no free trial" for live sessions, and practice sits in Pro.

We have not run both interviewers on the same answer, so we will not claim ours scores more accurately. The simplest test is free: spend today's JD mock on the role you actually want, and judge the follow-ups yourself.

How AllthingsPM does this: one session screen lets you switch between typing and speaking at any point, every follow-up is anchored to the job description or question you chose, and each session is saved with its transcript and feedback so you can see where you improved. Start from the JD mock or from any posting in our jobs catalog.

Bar chart: AllthingsPM, highlighted first, costs $20 a month including the course, against Final Round AI's listed $25+ a month; AllthingsPM includes a free JD mock a day, while Final Round AI lists practice interviews under Pro
AllthingsPM vs Final Round AI: AllthingsPM costs less per month and includes free daily mock practice. Sources: allthingspm.app/pricing and finalroundai.com/pricing, September 28, 2026

What that means:

  • Per month, AllthingsPM is cheaper: $20 against a listed "$25+", and ours includes a full AI PM course.
  • For free practice, only AllthingsPM gives you a mock interview without paying.
  • Per year, AllthingsPM is $120. Final Round AI shows "up to 40%" off on longer plans but did not list a yearly figure on the page we checked, so compare at checkout.

How AllthingsPM does this: one subscription covers mocks, the whole AI PM course, unlimited resume reviews against a JD and the library. Use the free tier first and look at pricing only once the daily JD mock has shown you it helps.

What else do PMs get on AllthingsPM?

A copilot helps with one hour. PM job hunts take weeks, and most of the work happens before any interview is booked.

How AllthingsPM does this: all of it sits behind one login, so the gaps a mock exposes lead straight to a lesson, a question guide or a resume fix. For AI company loops specifically, pair it with our Anthropic PM interview guide and OpenAI PM interview guide.

A 5 day plan that replaces a copilot with preparation

If you were tempted by a copilot because the interview is close, here is a short plan that builds the same confidence, using the free plan first.

  1. Day 1: map the role. Run the free JD resume review against the posting. Write down the two or three responsibilities your resume does not prove.
  2. Day 2: first JD mock. Paste the posting into the JD mock, answer by voice, and save every follow-up that caught you.
  3. Day 3: study the gaps. AI specific gaps go to the matching course lesson; core PM gaps go to the company's answer guides, for example Amazon or Google.
  4. Day 4: drill out loud. Answer five questions from that company hub in practice before reading each guide. Testing first, reading second.
  5. Day 5: second JD mock. Same posting, fresh session. Compare the score and the follow-ups with Day 2.

By Day 5 the answers are yours, which is the only kind that survives an in-person round. For more free options, see our free AI mock interview guide for PMs.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for PM interview prep

The choice turns on what you want the tool to do. If you want to get better at PM interviews, AllthingsPM wins on every point we could check:

  • It trains you instead of answering for you. AI mocks built from any job description, with follow-ups and a score, so you perform on your own in the room.
  • It stays on the right side of employer rules. Anthropic invites candidates to practise with AI; Amazon's guidelines warn that GenAI inside the interview can lead to disqualification. Practice is always allowed.
  • It is built for PMs. 4,122 real questions from 260 companies with answer guides, and a 14 chapter, 101 lesson AI PM course built from 604 job postings.
  • It covers the whole search. 116 live AI company roles with mocks, resume review against a JD, Resume Job Match, books, podcasts and portfolios.
  • It costs less. $20 a month or $120 a year with a free daily JD mock, against Final Round AI's listed "$25+" a month with practice in Pro.

Final Round AI's genuine strength is reach: many job types, many languages and a large user base. For product managers who want to earn the offer themselves, our verdict is clear: AllthingsPM is the better Final Round AI alternative. Start a free JD mock or compare plans.

Start today, free: pick the job you want most, paste its description into the JD mock, and after one session you will know which questions will push you and what to study next. No card needed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Final Round AI alternative for product managers?

AllthingsPM. It prepares you before the interview with AI mocks built from any job description, 4,122 real PM questions with answer guides and a 101 lesson AI PM course, for $20 a month or $120 a year with a free daily JD mock. It is built only for PMs, so every question type matches real PM loops.

Is Final Round AI cheating?

It depends on the employer's rules. Amazon's guidelines ask candidates not to use GenAI tools during interviews unless explicitly permitted, and Anthropic says live interviews should have no AI assistance unless it indicates otherwise. Using AI to practise beforehand, which is what AllthingsPM does, is allowed and even encouraged by Anthropic.

Can interviewers tell if you use an AI copilot?

Final Round AI's own FAQ does not promise it cannot be detected; it advises testing your setup because results vary by OS, meeting app and device policy. Amazon gave its interviewers signs to watch for, such as typing during questions or reading answers. In-person rounds, like the one Google now includes, rule copilots out entirely.

Does Final Round AI have a free plan?

Yes, a $0 plan with Goals, JD parsing into a prep checklist and the desktop app. Live CoPilot sessions and practice interviews are listed under Pro, and the site says there is no free trial for live sessions. AllthingsPM's free plan includes one AI JD mock a day.

Which is cheaper, AllthingsPM or Final Round AI?

AllthingsPM, per month: $20 against Final Round AI's listed "$25+", with an AI PM course included. AllthingsPM is $120 a year; Final Round AI shows "up to 40%" off on longer plans without a listed yearly figure on the page we checked. Prices checked September 28, 2026.

Can I use AllthingsPM during a real interview?

No, and that is deliberate. AllthingsPM is a practice and learning platform: you rehearse in practice or the JD mock beforehand so you can answer on your own when it counts.
