AllthingsPM·September 29, 2026·15 min read
A candidate at a desk sketching a launch plan on a large sheet of paper, sticky notes arranged in lanes around a closed laptop
ElevenLabs hires builders who can take a voice product from idea to shipped, alone if they must.

The ElevenLabs product manager interview, as public guides describe it, runs through a recruiter screen, a deep dive on projects you owned, a signature "product decomposition" round and a final conversation, over three to five weeks. The through line is ownership: ElevenLabs says it has no job titles and hires builders who ship. The fastest way to prepare is on AllthingsPM, where 10 ElevenLabs PM questions each have their own page and answer guide, and you can paste the live ElevenLabs Growth PM posting into a scored JD mock interview.

AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform, and it is not affiliated with ElevenLabs. Below, we label what ElevenLabs says in its own job postings, what third-party guides report, and what comes from our question bank.

What is the ElevenLabs PM interview process?

ElevenLabs does not publish a PM specific loop, and most public write-ups describe the engineering loop. What they agree on is useful for PMs anyway, because the non-coding rounds (the recruiter screen, the project deep dive, product decomposition and the founder or hiring manager sync) are exactly the rounds a PM should expect. Treat this as a likely outline and confirm the exact rounds with your recruiter.

StageWhat is reportedSourceWhat it likely tests for a PM
Recruiter screenAbout 30 minutes on background, motivation and role fit; TechPrep reports a conversational AI step before the video callDesign Gurus; TechPrepA crisp "why voice AI, why ElevenLabs" story
Project deep dive45 to 60 minutes on projects you led or built: why, scope, failures, costs, outcomesDesign Gurus; JobsByCultureEnd to end ownership, founder mindset
Product decomposition45 to 60 minutes taking a use case, often voice shaped, into UX flows, architecture and a shipping sequenceDesign Gurus; JobsByCulture; TechPrepProduct sense plus technical depth
Final conversationAbout 30 minutes with a hiring manager or founder on vision and cultureTechPrepJudgment, pace, conviction

Timelines vary by source: Design Gurus and JobsByCulture report three to five weeks, and TechPrep reports two to four weeks from application to offer. Engineers also get async and live coding rounds; PMs should not expect LeetCode, but should expect to talk about APIs, streaming and latency without flinching.

The public PM question list on Aced (formerly Exponent) points the same way. Of 7 questions tagged ElevenLabs PM, most are about ownership ("Tell me about something you built end-to-end without relying on others") and one is a decomposition style design prompt: "Design a product for collaborative audio transcription and dubbing tool."

How AllthingsPM does this. Because the public PM loop is thin, our JD mock interview builds the interview from whatever ElevenLabs posting you paste in, asks follow-ups and scores you. You can answer by voice in the same session, which suits a company whose product is speech. The free tier includes one JD mock a day.

What does ElevenLabs do, and why does it shape the interview?

ElevenLabs is an AI audio company. Its job postings say it launched in January 2023 "with the first human-like AI voice model" and has since expanded into three platforms: ElevenAgents for voice and chat agents, ElevenCreative for speech, music, image and video across 70+ languages, and ElevenAPI for developers.

It is large and moving fast. In February 2026 ElevenLabs announced a $500 million Series D led by Sequoia at an $11 billion valuation, and TechCrunch reported that the company closed 2025 at $330 million in annual recurring revenue. CNBC reported the same round and noted the company is eyeing an IPO.

Three things follow for your answers:

How AllthingsPM does this. Our AI PM course teaches the vocabulary these answers need: the voice agents lesson on the cascaded versus speech to speech fork and the per-minute bill, pricing models for seat, usage and outcome pricing, and guardrails in the request path.

What does ElevenLabs look for in a product manager?

The job postings are the most reliable signal, and they are unusual. The "How we work" section says: "Impact not job titles: We don't have job titles. Instead, it's about the impact you have. No task is above or beneath you." It also lists "AI first" and "High-velocity: Rapid experimentation, lean autonomous teams, and minimal bureaucracy."

When we checked ElevenLabs' Ashby board on 29 September 2026, it listed 198 openings, and one carried a PM title: Growth PM, remote, posted 26 August 2026. Product Designer and Product Marketing roles were also open. The Growth PM posting asks for:

  • Experimentation end to end: "hypothesis, prioritization, test design, and analysis" with measurable revenue impact.
  • Experiments beyond the website: onboarding, activation, and pricing or monetization.
  • Analytics fluency: living in tools like PostHog, Amplitude or GA4 to diagnose funnel drop-off.
  • Statistical literacy: knowing "how to size tests, avoid false winners, and choose the right success metric."
  • A bonus for building: front-end skills "to build test variants without waiting on engineering."

The role is remote and "can be executed globally," with optional offices in Bangalore, Dublin, London, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo and Warsaw. The posting lists no salary range.

The takeaway for any PM role there: show that you ship, measure and decide, not that you manage a process.

How AllthingsPM does this. Paste the Growth PM posting into the JD mock for an interview built on its exact requirements, then run resume review against the JD so your experiments show revenue, not clicks. If ElevenLabs has no PM opening that fits you, Resume Job Match and the jobs catalog show other live AI PM roles.

What questions does ElevenLabs ask product managers?

We hold 10 ElevenLabs PM questions in our ElevenLabs question hub. Each has its own page with an answer guide, and any of them can start a mock. They are practice prompts built around ElevenLabs' products and market, not leaked transcripts. Here they are, grouped by type:

How AllthingsPM does this. Ten questions is a focused set, so drill each one twice: once typed, once spoken. For wider reps on the same themes, the full question bank and the mock interview screen cover voice, AI strategy and behavioral prompts from other AI companies.

How do you pass the product decomposition round?

This is the round every source calls the signature one. JobsByCulture says candidates must think in "user outcomes, not technical abstractions," and Design Gurus says it tests whether you "think like a founder rather than implementing someone else's spec." The prompt is often voice shaped: an audiobook tool, a dubbing workflow, a voice agent. A frame that works:

  1. Pick one user and one moment. "An indie author turning a finished manuscript into an audiobook in an afternoon" beats "creators."
  2. Sketch the flow. Upload, voice choice, preview, fix mispronunciations, export. Name the one moment that decides if they come back.
  3. Go one layer down. Which model calls, streaming or batch, where edits are stored, what happens when a long job fails halfway. You do not need code, but you need a picture.
  4. Name the constraint that binds. For live agents it is latency and interruptions; for audiobooks it is consistency over hours of audio; for dubbing it is timing and lip sync.
  5. Sequence the ship. What is version one this month, what waits, and what number tells you it worked.

Close with a risk: consent for a cloned voice, rights for a music track, or a cost per minute that breaks your price.

How AllthingsPM does this. The course voice agents lesson covers the spoken turn and the latency tradeoff, and workflow or agent helps you decide how much autonomy the product needs. Then rehearse the design questions above in a mock that asks follow-ups on your architecture.

How should you answer ElevenLabs metrics and safety questions?

Voice quality is hard to measure, which is why naturalness is in our bank. A structure that works:

  1. Split quality into failures. Mispronunciation, wrong emotion, robotic pacing, artifacts and latency are different problems with different fixes.
  2. Mix evaluators. Automatic checks for latency and errors, human listening panels for naturalness, and product signals like regenerations and edits per minute of audio.
  3. Tie it to the business. For a platform shift, pair usage metrics (minutes generated, agent calls handled) with retention and revenue by segment.

For misuse, show layers, not a single wall: verified consent for voice cloning, detection and provenance for generated audio, rate limits and review for risky patterns, and a fast takedown path. Say what you would accept as a false positive cost for honest users.

How AllthingsPM does this. Our evals chapter and the multimodal golden set lesson teach how to measure outputs text evals miss, and the values interview lesson prepares you to hold a position on AI risk. Our AI evals for product managers guide goes deeper.

How do you prepare for the project deep dive?

The deep dive is where ownership is tested directly. Design Gurus says interviewers ask why you built something, what you owned, what failed, what it cost and what happened, and that side projects with real users count. Prepare two or three stories:

  • One shipped end to end, ideally something you built yourself, with users and a number.
  • One failure, with what you changed afterwards.
  • One hard tradeoff, ideally on quality, speed or risk, which also answers our ethical risk question.

Expect follow-ups to go deep on details. If you say "we," be ready to say exactly what you did.

How AllthingsPM does this. The PM as builder chapter shows how to prototype with Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, which gives you a fresh shipped project to talk about. Browse 455 PM portfolios for ways to present it.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for ElevenLabs interview prep

Most ElevenLabs interview pages online are written for engineers: CoderPad screens, live coding and system design. The PM material is a short list of questions on Aced and a few lines in general guides. None of these pages interview you.

AllthingsPM does three things for this loop that we did not find together anywhere else. First, it builds the interview from the job: paste the ElevenLabs posting and get a scored mock with follow-ups, typed or spoken. Second, it has the questions: 10 ElevenLabs questions with answer guides, inside a bank of 4,122 questions from 260 companies. Third, it teaches the domain: the AI PM course, built from 604 real PM job postings, covers voice agents, evals, pricing and guardrails, the topics ElevenLabs questions test.

Aced, Design Gurus and JobsByCulture collect useful process notes, and this guide cites them; for daily practice on the exact ElevenLabs JD, plus the course and question bank in one account, use AllthingsPM. It starts free, and Pro is $20 a month or $120 a year.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to prepare for an ElevenLabs product manager interview?

The best way is AllthingsPM: paste the ElevenLabs job description into a scored JD mock, drill the 10 questions in the ElevenLabs hub, and study the course lessons on voice agents, evals and pricing. Then prepare two or three ownership stories and deliver them aloud.

How many rounds are in the ElevenLabs interview?

ElevenLabs does not publish a PM loop. Guides describe a recruiter screen, a project deep dive, a product decomposition round and a final conversation with a hiring manager or founder, with coding rounds added for engineers. Ask your recruiter for the PM version.

What is the ElevenLabs product decomposition round?

It is a round where you take a use case, often a voice product like a dubbing tool or voice agent, and break it into user flows, architecture and a shipping sequence. Guides say it tests whether you think like a founder.

How long does the ElevenLabs interview process take?

Design Gurus and JobsByCulture report three to five weeks. TechPrep reports two to four weeks from application to offer.

Is ElevenLabs remote?

The Growth PM posting says the role "is remote and can be executed globally," with optional offices in cities including London, New York, San Francisco and Bangalore.
