Lovable interviews reward PMs who can scope a slice, ship it fast and prove it works for real users.

The Lovable product manager interview, as public accounts describe it, runs in four steps: a short application, an intro call with the team, a take-home case presented in a short recorded video, and a paid work trial of about two days, preferably in Stockholm. The trial is the stage that decides the loop. The fastest way to prepare is on AllthingsPM, which has 30 Lovable PM questions with answer guides and a scored mock built from each of the 2 live Lovable PM job descriptions we track: Product Manager (Agents) and Product Manager (Build Experience).

AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform and is not affiliated with Lovable. Below, we label what Lovable publishes and what others report.

What is the Lovable PM interview process?

Lovable's current PM postings on its careers site ask you to apply in English and do not list the rounds. The stage list below comes from a Design Gurus guide that summarizes Lovable job postings and candidate reports, and from CEO Anton Osika's account of hiring on Lenny's Podcast, where he described "work trials (one day to one week) to evaluate fit."

StageWhat is reportedSourceWhat it tests
ApplicationA short form; evidence that you have shippedDesign Gurus, citing Lovable postingsTrack record of building
Intro callA conversation with the team on motivation, fit and expectations; candidates also report a recruiter screenDesign GurusWhy Lovable, pace, ownership
Take-home caseWritten work plus a short recorded video presenting itDesign GurusScoping, clarity, communication
Paid work trialAbout two days with the team, preferably on-site in Stockholm; some roles extend to a weekDesign Gurus; Osika on Lenny's Podcast (one day to one week)Real collaboration, speed, quality

Treat this as the typical shape. Few public PM reports exist, because Lovable only started hiring product managers recently: in a post on X, Osika announced "We're hiring our first product managers at Lovable" and listed "Bias to ship" and "User-obsessed" first. Ask your recruiter for the exact rounds before you start.

How AllthingsPM does this. Because the public round list is thin, our JD mock interview builds the interview from the exact Lovable posting you pick, asks follow-ups and scores you, typed or spoken. You can rehearse the Product Manager (Agents) role and the Product Manager (Build Experience) role separately instead of guessing. The free tier includes one JD mock a day.

What does Lovable do, and why does it shape the interview?

Lovable is a software creation platform: you describe an app in plain language and its AI agent builds it. Anton Osika and Fabian Hedin founded it in Stockholm in 2023 as the open-source project GPT Engineer, and it rebranded to Lovable in December 2024, according to Wikipedia. Its PM postings say people have built "over 60 million projects on Lovable since its launch in November 2024," from solo founders to teams at Adidas and Zendesk.

The company is growing fast. TechCrunch reported on 12 August 2026 that Lovable raised $400 million at a $13.3 billion valuation, with $500 million in annualized run rate revenue as of June 2026.

Three things follow for your answers:

  • The agent is the product. When the agent fails mid-task, the user's whole project stalls. Interviewers want to hear how you find the failures that hurt trust most.
  • Credits are the business model. Several questions in our bank ask about credit costs, bill shock and gross margin, because every agent step costs money.
  • The audience is wide. Non-technical founders, designers, developers and enterprise teams all use the same product. You will be asked who you serve first.

How AllthingsPM does this. Our AI PM course covers this vocabulary: PM as builder teaches you to prototype by what it must prove, and prove it paid off covers seat, usage and outcome pricing. Those are the words a Lovable interviewer will use.

What does Lovable look for in a product manager?

The job descriptions are the most reliable signal. We track 2 live Lovable PM postings in our jobs catalog, both senior, both in Stockholm.

Product Manager (Agents) leads "the Lovable agent end-to-end," owning "quality, roadmap, and the feedback loops that make it better." It asks for "8+ years in the software industry, with direct ownership of an AI or LLM-powered product," hands-on experience with agents ("tool use, planning loops, multi-step reasoning, and how agents fail"), and the ability to "read model outputs, traces, and evals with confidence." You "program or have programmed." First projects: rebuilding the agent evaluation framework to catch regressions before they ship, discovery on agent reliability and trust, and shipping better agent error recovery.

Product Manager (Build Experience) owns "visual editing, content editing, design systems, and theming, all AI-first." It asks for 8+ years with experience on "design tools, visual editors, or creative platforms (Figma, Canva, Webflow, or similar)" and "a sharp eye for what makes visual output feel professional rather than amateur." You "don't need to code." First projects: auditing AI-generated visual output, the first coherent theming and design system experience, and discovery on where visual editing breaks down.

Both postings share the same core duties: "Represent the user," "Run discovery end-to-end," own the quality bar, "Scope ruthlessly," and enable sales, support and marketing.

Product Manager (Build Experience)Stockholm, on-site8+ years, design tools or creative platformsNo, "technical curiosity"

Checked 29 September 2026 on Lovable's careers pages. The postings do not list salary.

Lovable's careers page lists three values: "Drivers, not passengers," "Care deeply" and "Build a legacy," with lines such as "Move fast, ship often. Results over talk" and "Choose candor over comfort." Have a story ready for each.

How AllthingsPM does this. Each Lovable role in our catalog has its own page with the full JD and a mock built from it. Run our resume review against the JD on the posting you want, so your resume shows shipped AI work and speed in the same lines. If neither role fits, Resume Job Match shows which other open AI PM roles do.

What questions does Lovable ask product managers?

We hold 30 Lovable PM questions in our Lovable question hub. By primary tag: 10 product design, 6 product strategy, 6 metrics, 3 AI and evals, 3 behavioral, and 2 technical or estimation. Each has its own page with an answer guide, and any of them can start a mock.

The mix leans to product design, which matches a company whose product is a builder. Real questions by type:

Reported by candidates (Aced, formerly Exponent): two Lovable questions appear there, without a role label: "Tell me about something you built end-to-end without relying on others" and "Tell me about your interest in AI."

Product strategy:

Metrics:

AI, technical and behavioral:

How AllthingsPM does this. The Lovable hub groups all 30 questions by type, so you can drill the design and strategy questions that dominate the mix. For wider reps, the full question bank and the mock interview screen let you switch between typing and speaking in one session.

How do you prepare for the Lovable take-home and recorded video?

The take-home is reported as written work plus a short recorded video. The video matters: Lovable PMs "bring findings with conviction," and a recording shows whether you can.

  1. Use the product first. Build a small app on Lovable before you write a word. Note where the agent stalled, what cost you credits, and where you wanted more control.
  2. Scope a thin slice. Both postings say "Scope ruthlessly." Pick one user, one problem and the smallest shippable change.
  3. Show how you would know it worked. Name one success metric and one guardrail, such as project completion and credits per working app.
  4. Prototype if you can. For a company whose product builds apps, a working mock of your idea beats a slide.
  5. Record in one clear take. Lead with the recommendation, then the evidence, in a few minutes.

How AllthingsPM does this. Our course has a lesson on the take-home, the presentation and the portfolio, and one on building and iterating in Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Our guides to the PM vibe coding interview and the case study presentation cover the rest.

How should you prepare for the Lovable work trial?

Osika's own words describe the goal: evaluating fit through work trials of one day to one week. Design Gurus reports the trial is paid and preferably in Stockholm, and that the team watches how you scope tasks, ask questions, handle feedback and finish things.

  • Arrive with context. Know both postings' first projects. On the Agents track, that is evals, reliability and error recovery; on Build Experience, visual quality, theming and editing.
  • Talk to users early. "Represent the user" is the first duty in both postings. Ask to sit in on user calls or read feedback on day one.
  • Ship something by the end. A small finished result beats a large plan. "Results over talk" is a stated value.
  • Say what you would cut. Scoping is scored as much as building.

How AllthingsPM does this. For the Agents track, the evals chapter teaches the moves a trial may need: reading real traces, naming failures from one taxonomy and evaluating an agent, not an answer. Our AI evals guide is the short version.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for Lovable interview prep

Most Lovable prep pages describe the loop and list generic questions; they do not interview you. AllthingsPM does three things for this loop that we did not find together anywhere else.

First, it has the roles. We track both live Lovable PM job descriptions, Agents and Build Experience, and each has a scored mock built from it, typed or spoken, with follow-ups. One role wants a PM who reads traces and codes; the other wants a PM with a designer's eye. A generic mock cannot tell them apart.

Second, it has the questions. 30 Lovable questions, each with its own answer guide, sit inside a bank of 4,122 questions from 260 companies, so you can drill the design, strategy and metrics mix Lovable leans on.

Third, it teaches the domain. The AI PM course, built from 604 real PM job postings, covers agents, evals, prototyping and pricing, the topics the Lovable postings name.

Aced (formerly Exponent) and Design Gurus collect useful candidate reports, and this guide cites them; for daily, role-specific practice on the exact Lovable JD, plus the course and question bank in one account, use AllthingsPM. It starts free, and Pro is $20 a month or $120 a year.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to prepare for a Lovable product manager interview?

The best way is AllthingsPM: run a scored mock built from your exact Lovable job description, drill the 30 Lovable questions in the Lovable hub, and study the course chapters on building with AI and evals. Then build a few real apps on Lovable and practice a recorded take-home.

How many rounds are in the Lovable PM interview?

Public accounts describe four stages: a short application, an intro call, a take-home case presented in a recorded video, and a paid work trial. Candidates also report a recruiter screen. Lovable's current PM postings do not list the rounds, so confirm with your recruiter.

Does Lovable do work trials?

Yes. CEO Anton Osika described using work trials of one day to one week on Lenny's Podcast. Design Gurus reports the trial is paid, about two days, and preferably on-site in Stockholm.

Do Lovable PMs need to code?

It depends on the role. The Product Manager (Agents) posting says "you program or have programmed." The Product Manager (Build Experience) posting says "you don't need to code," but asks for technical curiosity about how design tools and AI systems work.

Is Lovable remote?

Both live PM postings we track are on-site in Stockholm. Lovable says it has growing teams in London, Boston, New York and San Francisco, and its careers page also lists some remote positions.

How many years of experience does Lovable want for PMs?

Both live PM postings ask for 8+ years in the software industry, in product management or engineering leadership.
