What does an ISB product management programme cost, and what do you get?

ISB runs two product management programmes online, both delivered with Emeritus.

The ISB Online Product Management Programme is 16 weeks at 4 to 6 hours a week, for ₹1,59,900 plus GST, which is ₹1,88,682. You get more than 140 recorded faculty videos, 15 live sessions with programme leaders, 5 live masterclasses with industry experts, 3 hands-on projects built on Flipkart, Swiggy and Paytm, 20+ assignments and quizzes, 4 case studies and a capstone. It covers 11 tools including Figma, Jira, Mixpanel and SQL, and has modules on AI and generative AI. Any graduate can apply, and you need a 70% score for the certificate. The ISB Professional Certificate in Product Management is the longer version: 28 weeks, ₹2,71,900 plus taxes (₹3,20,842). It adds two AI modules and four live masterclasses on generative AI, and grants ISB Online alumni status. Its page is clear that the live doubt sessions are run by programme leaders, not ISB faculty.

ISB's real strength is the name, one of the best known business schools in India. If your employer pays and you want that line on LinkedIn, it is a fair choice.

There is no single "IIM PM course". Several IIMs run their own, and they differ a lot.

• IIM Trichy, Programme in Product Management in the Agentic AI Era: 60 hours of live sessions on Sundays over six months, ₹85,000 plus GST (₹1,00,300). Masai handles marketing, fees and tech; IIM Trichy teaches and certifies. Both parts of the fee are non-refundable. Any graduate can apply.

An optional one day campus event costs ₹13,000 to ₹15,000 more. Four modules cover generative AI in product management.
• IIM Indore, Certificate Programme in Product Management: about 100 hours over eight months, live online plus a three day campus module, ₹2,59,600 including GST. It needs two years of full time work after graduation, and Batch 01 starts on 18 October 2026.
• IIM Lucknow, Executive Programme in Data Driven Product Management in the Age of AI: ten months of live Sunday evening sessions plus a three day immersion at the Noida campus, ₹2,35,000 plus GST (₹2,77,300). It needs a year of work experience, and alumni status is an extra ₹10,000 plus GST.

The IIMs' strength is live teaching and, for Indore and Lucknow, time on campus with a peer group. For people who learn best on a fixed weekly schedule, that structure is real value.

This is the part the brochures handle carefully, and it is worth reading closely.

ISB's page says it plainly: "Emeritus and ISB make no promise or guarantee regarding placement or career transition. We do not offer any placement services or assurances in securing employment outcomes." ISB's marketing does cite an "88% career impact" figure, but that is Emeritus survey data on learners reporting a positive career effect within 12 months, not a placement rate.

IIM Kozhikode offers 15 recorded career sessions on resumes, job search, interviews and LinkedIn, for Indian residents only. IIM Indore points to its general career services office. IIM Trichy calls its offering a certificate programme to help executives upskill, not a degree. None of the IIM pages we read publish placement numbers for these certificates.

Then there is the hiring side. When we read 677 PM job postings from 103 companies for our analysis of whether PM certifications are worth it, not one asked for a product management certification. Indian PMs discussing IIM and IIT certificate courses on Reddit raise the same doubt: the certificate is a signal of interest, but the interview is still the gate.

So the honest outcome of an ISB or IIM PM programme is knowledge plus a brand line. The job depends on how you perform in the product sense, metrics, strategy and behavioural rounds, which none of these pages say they rehearse with you.

Are ISB and IIM PM courses good for AI product management?
