What this question tests
Whether you can connect your specific strengths to what this Meta team actually needs, instead of giving a generic self promotion answer.
How to approach it
- If the role or team was not already described, ask what problem this PM opening exists to solve.
- Pick two or three strengths that map directly to that problem, such as shipping under ambiguity or driving a metric at scale.
- For each strength, give one concrete result with a number attached.
- Name what makes you different from a competent generic candidate, not just qualified.
- Close by saying what you would focus on in the first few months.
What a strong answer includes
- Names the likely team or product area (for example Reels or Ads) and ties your background to its known priorities rather than PM traits in general.
- Uses one or two real metrics as proof, such as growing activation 18 percent or shipping to four markets in a quarter.
- Shows awareness of a real gap and how you are closing it, which reads as honest rather than rehearsed.
Common mistakes
- Listing adjectives like strategic or data driven with no evidence behind them.
- Talking only about past wins with no link to this specific role.
- Sounding like a memorized script instead of a real conversation.
Likely follow-up questions
- What would you do differently if that project had failed?
- How do you know this team needs that particular strength?
