A general interview coach or one built for the PM loop.

Short answer: if you are interviewing for product manager roles, AllthingsPM is the better Huru AI alternative. It is built only for PM interviews: it builds a mock from the exact PM job description you paste, follows up on your answer and scores it. Around that sit 4,122 real PM questions from 260 companies, each with its own answer guide, plus an AI PM course. Huru is a general AI interview coach covering 242+ career roles, and its home page now says every job seeker feature is free.

AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. Every Huru fact below comes from Huru's own home page, checked on September 29, 2026, or from dated third party reviews, which we name. We did not use a Huru account, so we describe its features the way Huru describes them.

Features and prices checked on September 29, 2026 on AllthingsPM/pricing and huru.ai. Earlier 2026 reviews listed Huru at $24.99 a month and $99 a year; Huru's own page now shows $0 for job seekers.

What is Huru, and what does it do well?

Huru is an AI interview practice platform. You answer questions out loud, on camera, for any of 242+ roles, and Huru's model scores each answer on relevance, structure, specificity, impact and articulation. It then adds feedback on accuracy, grammar and confidence, a stronger version of your answer and a structure for the next take. It runs as a web app, an iOS app and a Chrome extension that turns job posts on LinkedIn or Indeed into a practice session.

Its home page says Huru "specializes in behavioral interviews (with a focus on the STAR method)" and also supports technical roles "including common questions for roles in software engineering, data science, product management, marketing, and more." It claims a library of 50,000+ questions and a rating of 4.8/5 from 20,000+ users. As of September 29, 2026 the pricing section reads "Huru is free for everyone", with an Enterprise plan for universities and hiring teams.

Reviewers credit it for delivery work. Final Round AI's review says its feedback "covers filler words, grammatical errors, pacing, and sentence construction", and The Offer Inbox calls it strong on "delivery and clarity". The same reviews flag limits: Final Round AI notes "Most candidates fail interviews because of answer structure and content, not because they say 'um' too often", and Interview Sidekick reports users hitting bugs creating interviews from LinkedIn.

How AllthingsPM does this: we put the effort where PM interviews are decided, which is the content of the answer. Every one of our 4,122 questions has a written answer guide on its own page in the question bank, so after you answer out loud in practice you can compare your structure with a model answer for that exact question.

Why does a PM-specific mock beat a general one?

A PM loop is not one interview type. A typical loop mixes product sense ("design X for Y"), metrics and analytics, execution and prioritisation, strategy, estimation and behavioral rounds. A general coach tuned for STAR stories covers only the last of those well.

The difference shows up in the follow-ups. A good PM interviewer does not stop at your first answer. They push: why that user segment, what would you cut, which metric would tell you it failed, what is the counter metric. Practising without those pushes means you meet them for the first time in the real loop.

That is why AllthingsPM is built around PM rounds, not generic competencies. Our product sense guide and metrics interview questions for PMs show the rubric interviewers use, and the mock applies the same pressure.

Bar chart: AllthingsPM, highlighted first, offers 4,122 PM interview questions; Huru's 50,000+ questions over 242+ roles average about 207 per role
AllthingsPM vs Huru: questions available to a PM candidate. AllthingsPM is all PM questions. Sources: allthingspm.app/question-bank and huru.ai, September 29, 2026

A caution on the chart: Huru does not publish how many of its questions are PM questions. The 207 figure is simply 50,000 divided by 242 roles, an average. The point stands either way: on AllthingsPM, all 4,122 are PM questions, drawn from 260 companies, each with an answer guide.

How AllthingsPM does this: our interviewer follows up on what you actually said, in text or voice, and scores the answer against the round and role you chose. Pick a question type in practice, or start from a company hub such as Google or Anthropic to drill the exact questions that company asks.

Which is better for building a mock from a job description?

Both tools do it, and this is Huru's closest overlap with us. Huru lets you paste a job title and description, or use its Chrome extension on a job board. AllthingsPM's JD mock does the same for any posting you paste, and in our review of AI mock tools only 4 offered JD based mocks at all.

The difference is what surrounds the mock. On AllthingsPM, the posting generates questions from the role's responsibilities, product area and seniority, runs them as a complete timed loop, scores you like a panel and saves every transcript so you can see where you improved.

The AllthingsPM JD mock page: "Rehearse the interview you're actually walking into", with Start a JD interview and four features: questions from the real role, a full timed mock, scored like a panel, a record to learn from
AllthingsPM JD mock: paste a posting and get a mock built for that role, September 2026

We also keep 116 live PM job descriptions at 18 AI companies in our jobs catalog, each with its own mock and a resume check. A role such as Product Manager, Growth at Anthropic takes you from reading the JD to rehearsing it in one click.

How AllthingsPM does this: paste the posting into the JD mock, answer by voice or text, then run the free resume review against the same JD so the stories you tell in the interview match what your resume promises.

Is Huru really free, and what does AllthingsPM cost?

On September 29, 2026, Huru's home page listed one job seeker plan at $0 with "No subscription": unlimited mock interviews, full AI feedback reports, the 50,000+ question library, custom interviews, the Chrome extension and multiple languages. Reviews earlier in 2026 listed paid plans ($24.99 a month in Final Round AI's review; $24.99 a month or $99 a year in The Offer Inbox's). Check Huru's page on the day you sign up.

So price is not the reason to choose. The question is what you get for the hours you spend. A free general coach gives you delivery practice. AllthingsPM's free tier already gives you PM specific answer guides for 4,122 questions and a daily mock built from the role you want, and the paid plan adds a full AI PM course.

How AllthingsPM does this: start on the free tier, run your daily JD mock and read answer guides in the question bank. Upgrade on the pricing page only if the course and unlimited mocks are worth it to you.

Which is better for AI PM roles?

AllthingsPM, clearly. AI company loops test things a general coach does not cover: evals, model tradeoffs, agent failure modes, AI product metrics. Our AI PM course was built from 604 real PM job postings and is updated weekly. Lessons such as the AI product sense and execution rounds and the AI PRD teach those skills, and the knowledge graph maps how the concepts connect.

The question bank leans the same way, with a hub per AI company such as OpenAI and Anthropic. A real example: "After launching an enterprise AI agent, what primary success metric and guardrail metrics would you track?" A STAR structure will not carry that answer; knowing AI product metrics will.

How AllthingsPM does this: learn the concept in the course, answer a matching question in practice, then rehearse on a live AI company role from the jobs catalog. Our AI product metrics guide is a good first read.

What do candidates say about AI mock interviews?

We did not find independent reviews that compare Huru and AllthingsPM directly. On AI mocks in general, the case for them is volume: a candidate on Reddit in August 2025 described running more than 60 timed voice AI rounds because "peer mocks weren't reliable, everyone's busy and you don't get high quality feedback". Learning research agrees that practice beats rereading: Roediger and Karpicke (2006) found that testing yourself produced better recall a week later than restudying.

Volume only helps if the reps match the real test. Sixty STAR reps will not prepare you for a metrics round. Sixty PM reps, each ending with an answer guide, will.

How AllthingsPM does this: every rep ends with a model to compare against. Answer out loud, get follow-ups and a score, then read the written answer guide on the same question page. A 5 day plan that uses AllthingsPM for a real PM role

  1. Day 1: resume first. Pick a real posting, for example from our jobs catalog, and run the free JD resume review. Note two or three responsibilities your resume does not prove yet.
  2. Day 2: first JD mock. Paste the same posting into the JD mock. Save the follow-ups that caught you out; they are your study list.
  3. Day 3: learn the gaps. AI specific gaps go to the matching course lesson; core PM gaps go to answer guides in the question bank.
  4. Day 4: drill by company. Answer five questions from the company's hub out loud in practice before reading each guide.
  5. Day 5: second JD mock. Same posting, new session. Compare scores and follow-ups with Day 2.

If you want a final delivery check on camera, a general tool can add polish. The substance comes from the four days before it.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for PM mock interviews

If the interview you are preparing for is a product manager interview, AllthingsPM fits it better on every point we could check:

  • Built only for PMs. Product sense, metrics, execution, strategy and behavioral rounds, with follow-ups that push the way PM interviewers do.
  • A mock from your exact role. Any pasted PM job description, plus 116 live AI company roles with their own mocks.
  • Answers you can learn from. 4,122 real questions from 260 companies, every one with its own page and answer guide.
  • A course behind the practice. 14 chapters, 101 lessons and 14 graded case studies, built from 604 real PM job postings and updated weekly.
  • The rest of your application. Resume review against a JD, Resume Job Match, 111 book summaries and 455 PM portfolios.

Huru's genuine strengths are real: it is free for job seekers, works in five languages and gives detailed on camera delivery feedback across 242+ roles. That makes it a good general coach. But PM offers are won on the content of product sense and metrics answers, and that is what AllthingsPM is built for. Our verdict: for PM and AI PM interviews, choose AllthingsPM. Start a free JD mock or compare plans.

Start today, free: paste the PM job you most want into the JD mock. After one session you will know which follow-ups the interviewer will push on and exactly what to study next. No card needed.
