Pick a real portfolio to copy, then pick the cheapest builder that can make it.

The best product manager portfolio website template is not a theme from a marketplace. It is a real PM's live site that already works, and AllthingsPM lists 455 of them free in its PM Portfolios directory, filterable by level and industry. Pick the layout you like there, then rebuild it on the cheapest builder that fits: Carrd ($19 a year with a custom domain), Framer (from $10 a month), Webflow (from $15 a month billed yearly), Notion, Squarespace or free GitHub Pages.

AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. The directory sits next to the course, JD mock interviews and resume review you need to turn a portfolio into an offer.

Which PM portfolio website builders and templates are worth using?

Here is the short list, with what each costs and what real PMs in our directory actually use. Prices were checked on 29 September 2026 on each vendor's own page, except Webflow, whose page would not load for us, so its prices come from a September 2026 pricing guide.

Prices checked 29 September 2026 on each vendor's page. Squarespace showed rupee prices from India. Subdomain counts are from the AllthingsPM directory data on the same day.

Bar chart led by the AllthingsPM directory (us) with 455 real PM portfolios, then counts of portfolios on builder subdomains: about.me 21, github.io 12, webflow.io 11, vercel.app 11, netlify.app 7, notion.site 5, framer.website 4, squarespace.com 1, carrd.co 1
AllthingsPM PM Portfolios directory: 455 real PM portfolios, 73 on a builder subdomain. Counted 29 September 2026

One caveat on the chart: it only sees builders that show in the address. A site on its own .com can still run on Framer, Webflow or Squarespace underneath, so these are floors, not market shares. What the data does show clearly is that 382 of 455 PMs pay for, or at least point, their own domain.

Why should a real PM portfolio be your template?

Template marketplaces are built for designers. Their pages lead with image grids, mood shots and "selected works". A PM's proof is different: a positioning line, the problems you owned, the decisions you made and the numbers that moved. A designer template forces you to fake visuals you do not have.

A real PM's site has already solved that. When you open ten portfolios at your level, you see the same shape again and again: name as the domain, one line on what you build, a short career story, and two or three pieces of proof. Our study of the full set, What 455 PM portfolios have in common, found 83% on their own domain and 87% with the owner's name in the address.

So the fastest workflow is: find one site you would be proud to have, note its sections in order, and rebuild that skeleton on a builder. You copy structure, never words or design assets.

How AllthingsPM does this. The PM Portfolios directory lists 455 live sites with each person's title, level, company and a one-line summary, so you can shortlist templates in minutes. Filter to your level first; a VP's site is built to sell leadership, a PM's site to sell shipped work.

Which builder should you pick for a one-page PM portfolio?

Most PM portfolios in our directory are closer to one strong page than to a ten-page site. For that, you want low cost and a custom domain.

Carrd is the cheapest route we found. Its Pro Standard plan is $19 a year for up to 10 sites, and every Pro plan includes custom domains, with a 7-day free trial of Pro features. It is built for one-page sites, which suits a positioning line, a short story and links to case studies.

about.me is even simpler: a free about.me/yourname page, or Pro at $7.50 a month ($90 a year) for a custom domain and a portfolio section of up to 30 photos or videos. It was the most common builder subdomain in our data, with 21 PMs. The trade-off is that it looks like a profile card, not a portfolio, so it works best as a front door that links out to your real proof.

Notion Sites suits writers. Free users can publish unlimited pages and claim one notion.site domain; a custom domain needs a paid plan plus an add-on. Five PMs in our directory publish this way. If you already write case studies in Notion, this is the lowest-effort path.

How AllthingsPM does this. Before you pick a tool, open the one-page sites in the PM Portfolios directory and check what they fit above the fold. Then use the course lesson on the take-home, the presentation, and the portfolio recruiters read first to decide what earns that space.

Which builder is best if you want case studies and a blog?

Once you plan three or more case studies, or you write regularly, you need a CMS: a way to add pages from a template without redesigning each one.

Webflow is built for that. Its free Starter plan publishes to webflow.io with 2 static pages. Basic, at $15 a month billed yearly ($25 month to month), adds a custom domain, and Premium at $25 a month billed yearly is the tier aimed at blogs and case study collections. Eleven PMs in our data still publish on a webflow.io address.

Framer trades some CMS depth for design polish. The free plan runs on a Framer domain with no custom domain. Basic is $10 a month with a free custom domain and 2 CMS collections; Pro is $30 a month with 10 collections. Four PMs in our directory show a framer.website address, and many more may use it behind their own domains.

Squarespace is the no-code, template-first choice. From India we saw Basic at ₹630 a month billed yearly and Core at ₹720, after a 14-day free trial. Only one PM in our set shows a squarespace.com address, but its templates are a fair pick if you want something presentable in an afternoon.

How AllthingsPM does this. A CMS is only as good as the case studies in it. Our guide to the PM portfolio case study gives a template, and the AI PM course gives you graded case studies you can publish as proof.

What about free options like GitHub Pages, Vercel and Netlify?

These are the builders of choice for technical and AI PMs, and they show up more often than the design tools: 12 PMs in our data use github.io, 11 use vercel.app and 7 use netlify.app.

GitHub Pages hosts a static site from a repository and supports custom domains. Published sites can be up to 1 GB, with a soft bandwidth limit of 100 GB a month, far more than a portfolio needs. You write in Markdown or HTML and pick a static theme.

Vercel has a free Hobby plan described as for personal, non-commercial use, and a Pro plan at $20 a month. Netlify plays the same role. With AI coding tools, a PM can now describe a portfolio and ship it here in an evening, which is itself a small piece of proof for an AI PM role.

The cost is maintenance. You own the code, so broken builds and outdated dependencies are yours to fix.

How AllthingsPM does this. If you are building your site with code to show AI fluency, turn it into a real project using our list of AI PM projects to build for your portfolio, and browse the AI product manager portfolio examples for how others present that work.

How do you choose between these builders?

Use three questions, in this order.

  1. How many pages do you need? One page: Carrd, about.me or Notion. Several case studies or a blog: Webflow, Framer or Squarespace.
  2. Will you pay for a domain? Do it. Your name as the address is the most common pattern in real PM sites, and every option above supports a custom domain on some plan.
  3. Do you like code? If yes, GitHub Pages or Vercel cost nothing and double as proof. If not, stay with a visual builder.

Spend your time on content, not tooling. A portfolio that ships this week on Carrd beats a Webflow site that is still "in progress" next month.

How AllthingsPM does this. Our step-by-step guide, create a product manager portfolio website, walks from domain to first screen to case studies, and links every step to real examples in the directory.

What should go on a PM portfolio template?

Whatever the builder, the sections that recur across real PM sites are simple:

  • A positioning line. One sentence on what you build and for whom.
  • Proof. Two or three short case studies: problem, your decision, the result.
  • A career story. Where you have worked and what you owned, in a few lines.
  • A clear contact route. Email or LinkedIn, easy to find.

Keep claims specific and honest. In our 455, only 4% of summaries quote a percentage or dollar figure, so a single real metric already sets you apart.

How AllthingsPM does this. Once the site is live, run your resume through resume review against a job description so the story on your site and on your resume match the role. Browse senior PM portfolio examples if you are past your first PM role.

How do you turn a portfolio website into interviews?

A portfolio gets you a second look. The interview decides the offer. Hiring managers who open your site will ask about the projects on it, so rehearse each case study as a spoken answer.

Paste the job description into a JD mock interview and practice the product sense and execution questions that role will ask. Then drill company-specific questions in the question bank, which holds 4,122 real questions from 260 companies, each with an answer guide.

How AllthingsPM does this. The portfolio, the resume review and the JD mock live in one account, with one free JD mock and one resume review a day on the free tier. That loop, site to resume to mock, is the part a website builder cannot give you.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for PM portfolio website templates

Website builders solve hosting and layout. None of them tells you what a product manager's portfolio should say. Carrd is the cheapest way to get a one-page site on your own domain, Webflow is strong for case study collections, and Framer is the most design-forward, and any of them is a fine place to build. But their template galleries are generic, made for designers, agencies and small businesses.

AllthingsPM gives you what those galleries lack: 455 real PM portfolio sites, from PM to VP and CPO, all link-checked, all free to browse, filterable by level and industry. That turns "which template?" into "which proven PM site do I want to be like?", a question you can answer in ten minutes.

Then it goes further than any builder. The same account holds an AI PM course built from 604 real PM job postings, with a lesson on the portfolio recruiters read first; resume review against a job description; mock interviews built from any JD; and a bank of 4,122 real questions from 260 companies. Your portfolio becomes the start of a job search, not a side project.

The verdict: use AllthingsPM to choose your template and prepare for the interviews it earns, and use the cheapest builder that can reproduce the layout. Browse the PM Portfolios directory free.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best product manager portfolio website template?

The best template is a real PM's live site at your level. AllthingsPM lists 455 of them free in its PM Portfolios directory, filterable by level and industry. Pick one, copy its section order, and rebuild it on a builder such as Carrd, Framer or Webflow.

What is the cheapest way to build a PM portfolio with a custom domain?

Among the options we checked, Carrd Pro Standard at $19 a year was the cheapest plan with custom domains. GitHub Pages hosting is free and supports custom domains, but you pay for the domain itself and need to be comfortable with code.

Is Notion good enough for a PM portfolio?

For a writing-led portfolio, yes. Free Notion users can publish unlimited pages to one notion.site domain, and five PMs in the AllthingsPM directory use it. A custom domain needs a paid plan plus an add-on.

Should I use Webflow or Framer for a PM portfolio?

Choose Webflow if you plan many case studies or a blog, since its Premium plan targets collections. Choose Framer for design polish at a lower entry price, $10 a month on Basic with a custom domain. Either works; content matters more than the tool.

Do I need a custom domain for my PM portfolio?

It is strongly recommended. In the AllthingsPM directory, 382 of 455 PM portfolios avoid builder subdomains, and most put the owner's name in the address. A name domain is easy to remember and looks deliberate.

How long does it take to build a PM portfolio website?

With a template chosen from real PM sites and a one-page builder, a first version can go live in a day. The slow part is writing case studies, so start with one strong one and add more later.
