Exponent (Aced) pricing in 2026, explained

Aced (formerly Exponent) costs $0 on Basic, $79 a month or $144 a year on Pro, and $99 a month or $240 a year on Expert, with coaching from $249 an hour. For AI mock interviews built from your real job description, AllthingsPM costs $120 a year and has a free tier.

Exponent, now called Aced, has three plans in 2026: Basic is free, Pro is $79 a month or $144 a year, and Expert is $99 a month or $240 a year. Expert is the only plan with AI mock interviews. Human coaching is never included: one hour is $249, 3 sessions $675, 5 sessions $999. Refunds are only within 5 days, and every plan renews automatically. If what you want is AI mock practice for PM roles, AllthingsPM gives you mocks built from any job description plus a 4,122 question bank with answer guides and an AI PM course for $120 a year, half the price of Expert annual, with a free tier that never expires.

Every Aced price below comes from its own public pages, checked 26 September 2026, and is linked in the Sources. This is a buyer's guide: what each Aced plan really costs over the weeks you will actually prepare, and where our plan gives you more interview reps per dollar.

How much does Exponent (Aced) cost in 2026?

Exponent announced on 17 August 2026 that it is becoming Aced [2]. The pricing page is still at tryexponent.com/upgrade [1]. Here is how it compares with AllthingsPM, which we list first because it is the plan we would pick for AI mock practice.

PlanBilled monthlyBilled annually (charged per year)AI mock interviewsWhat it includes
AllthingsPM Pro$20 (INR 1,200)$120 (INR 8,400)Yes, from any JD, text or voice, with follow-ups and scoresAI PM course (14 chapters, 101 lessons), 4,122 questions from 260 companies with answer guides, 116 live AI company JDs with mocks, resume review, book and podcast summaries

Aced Basic$0$0NoSample lessons, 5 peer mocks a month, sample questions
Aced Pro$79$144NoAll courses, video solutions, company guides, unlimited peer mocks, question database, Slack
Aced Expert$99$240Yes, assigned questions over audioEverything in Pro plus AI mocks, AI feedback, AI coach chat

Aced prices checked 26 September 2026 on its pricing page [1]; AllthingsPM prices from our pricing page [13]. List prices before tax or promotions.

Aced labels Pro annual "Save 70%", which undersells it: twelve months at $79 is $948, so $144 is about 85% less. Expert annual ($240) against twelve months at $99 ($1,188) is a similar gap. Even at those discounts, the cheapest Aced plan with AI mocks ($240 a year) costs double our Pro plan.

How AllthingsPM does this: one plan, two prices, no feature tiers. Pro at $20 a month or $120 a year unlocks everything: JD-based mocks, the course, the full bank and resume review. You never have to pay a second tier just to reach the AI interviewer. See the details on our pricing page.

What is the difference between Pro and Expert?

Pro is content and people; Expert adds AI. Pro unlocks all courses (the PM course is 7 courses, 44 videos and 23 hours in its 2026 edition [3]), the question database, video answers and unlimited peer mocks [1]. Expert adds AI mock interviews, AI feedback and chat with the AI coach [1].

Aced's AI interviewer assigns you a popular question, you answer out loud, and feedback arrives "based on realistic interview rubrics after the session ends" [4]. That is the $96 a year you pay for Expert over Pro.

This is where AllthingsPM wins on price and fit. Our JD mock interview builds the interview from the exact job description you paste, asks follow-ups like a real interviewer and scores each answer, by text or voice. Only 4 tools we found do JD-based mocks, and we are the only one that also has a course, a question bank and live JDs. For $120 a year you get that plus everything else in the table, against $240 for Expert annual. Our roundup of the best AI mock interview tools for product managers lists prices side by side.

Here is what that difference looks like in practice. Say you are targeting an AI PM role at a fintech. On Aced Expert you might get a classic product design prompt. On AllthingsPM you paste that fintech's JD and the mock asks about the model quality tradeoffs, the metrics and the stakeholders that JD actually names, then pushes back with follow-ups when your answer is vague. That is rehearsal for the interview you will actually face, not a generic one.

How AllthingsPM does this: open JD mock interview, paste the job description, choose text or voice, and get a score per answer at the end. If you do not have a JD yet, pick one of the 116 live AI company job descriptions and run the mock attached to it.

Is the annual plan billed monthly or all at once?

All at once. "$12 a month" is a single $144 charge, and "$20 a month" is $240 [1]. A 2023 Reddit thread titled "Funny pricing of tryExponent" made the same complaint: "the monthy payment is 12$, but I will have to commit 144$ for the complete year" [8].

The cheapest Aced option depends on how long you prepare:

  • One month: Pro monthly at $79.
  • Two months or more: Pro annual at $144, because two monthly payments cost $158.
  • Expert: annual ($240) wins from month three.

One commenter "paid the $79 / month price and probably used it for 3 months - so not a cost efficient way to use it" [8]. On AllthingsPM, three monthly payments are $60, less than one month of Aced Pro, so you do not have to gamble on a year's commitment.

How AllthingsPM does this: monthly billing at $20 is a real option, not a penalty price. Prep for six weeks, cancel, and you have spent $40. Start on the free tier first, and you may not need to pay until your interviews are booked.

Horizontal bar chart of total cost, AllthingsPM first and highlighted: AllthingsPM Free $0 with one AI mock a day, AllthingsPM Pro annual $120, then Aced Basic $0, Pro one month $79, Pro annual $144, Expert annual $240, Pro three months monthly $237, Pro annual plus three coaching sessions $819, Ace the Interview program $1,499

How much does Aced coaching cost?

Coaching is never included in a membership [1]. Aced says it has 100+ expert coaches for PM candidates [5]. On a coach's profile, mock coaching is priced like this [6]:

Coaching optionPriceWhat you get
AllthingsPM AI mock$0 to $20 a monthJD-based AI mocks with follow-ups and scores; one a day free [13]
1 session$249One 1-hour video session with written feedback
3 sessions$675Three 1-hour sessions
5 sessions$999Five 1-hour sessions
Applying to Jobs Program$999Two sessions, all Aced courses, 20% off future coaching
Ace the Interview program$1,499Five sessions, 1 year of courses and community, 20% off future coaching

Checked 26 September 2026 on an Aced PM coach's profile [6]. Coaches can price differently.

IGotAnOffer (which sells competing coaching) says annual members can get one 60-minute session for $199 [7], and Lodely says salary negotiation coaching is $249 an hour [9]; we could not confirm either on Aced's pages.

Aced's human coaches are a real strength. But one coached hour ($249) costs more than two years of AllthingsPM Pro. The efficient plan is to do the reps daily with AI mocks built from your target JDs, and spend on a human only for the final round that matters most.

How AllthingsPM does this: you can run a mock every day for the price of a single coaching hour spread over two years. The feedback arrives right after the session, so you can fix one weakness, rerun the same JD and see if the score moves. That loop is where most interview improvement comes from, and it is the loop a $249 hour cannot give you daily.

Does Aced have a free trial or a refund policy?

No formal trial of paid plans. Instead:

  1. Free Basic plan with 5 peer mocks a month [1].
  2. A 5-day full refund: "We offer full refunds within 5 days of purchase" [1].
  3. Automatic renewal until you cancel from the account page [1]. Turn off renewal the day you buy; you keep access to the end of the term.

AllthingsPM's free tier has no time limit: the full question bank and one AI mock a day, so you can judge the product over weeks, not five days.

How AllthingsPM does this: sign up free, browse questions by company on the question bank, and run your daily mock. Upgrade only when you want unlimited mocks and the full course; there is no clock ticking on your decision.

Are there Exponent discount codes or student discounts?

  • Aced's own promotions. The page already shows Pro annual "Save 70%" [1], and Aced ran a Black Friday 2025 "70% OFF Annual Plan" offer [10].
  • Referral links. Reddit threads about Exponent are full of member referral links for "10% off" [8][11], which also means glowing comments there may be motivated by the discount.
  • Coupon sites. Aggregators claim 20% to 75% off; we could not verify any.

We found no public individual student discount on Aced's pages; its "For universities" page is for schools [1].

How AllthingsPM does this: no coupon hunting needed. Our list price, $120 a year, is already below Aced's discounted Pro annual ($144), and the free tier covers students who just want to start practicing.

How much does Aced cost in India?

When we loaded the pricing page from an Indian connection for our Aced review, it showed USD prices. A March 2025 Reddit post priced the annual plan at "₹12K/year" [12], and your card may add a foreign transaction fee. AllthingsPM has a rupee plan: ₹1,200 a month or ₹8,400 a year [13], billed in rupees, so there is no foreign exchange surprise. Indian candidates also get the same JD mocks, question bank and course as everyone else. Our best product management courses in India guide compares local options.

A 7-day plan you can run on AllthingsPM today (free)

  1. Day 1: Pick one target role. Paste its JD into the JD mock interview and do the mock by voice.
  2. Day 2: Read the answer guides for the 3 questions you scored lowest on in the question bank.
  3. Day 3: Rerun a mock on the same JD. Compare scores.
  4. Day 4: Run your resume through resume review against the same JD.
  5. Day 5: Start the AI PM course chapter closest to the JD's biggest gap.
  6. Day 6: Pick a second JD from live AI company jobs and mock it.
  7. Day 7: Decide. If you used a mock every day and want more, Pro is $20 a month. If not, you spent $0.

Compare that with Aced, where the same week of AI mocks needs Expert at $99 for the month.
