Short answer: a Product School certification costs $2,999 for one live course, $3,999 a year for the Pro membership (2 courses) or $4,999 a year for Unlimited (10 courses) [1]. Each course is 3 weeks part-time with 12 live hours [2][3], so a single certification works out to about $250 per live hour. AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. For $120 a year (or $20 a month, with a free tier) it gives you an AI PM course built from 604 real job postings, mock interviews generated from any job description and 4,122 real interview questions with answer guides. One Product School certification costs the same as about 25 years of AllthingsPM.

What do you get for $2,999?

The single certification buys one live, instructor-led course [1]. Product School's own course pages describe the format [2][3]:

  • 3 weeks, part-time, with 6 live sessions and 12 live hours.
  • Hands-on labs and artifacts: 17 labs and 6 artifacts in Foundations; 18 labs and 6 artifacts in AI Product Management.
  • One graded final project.
  • A certificate, course recordings, workflows and templates, and access to an alumni community of 10,000+ graduates.
  • A reimbursement kit to help you ask your employer to pay.

Product School currently offers 10 certifications, including Product Management Foundations, AI Product Management, AI Evals, Vibe Coding, Claude Code for PMs, Agentic Workflows and Loops, Product Analytics and Experimentation, Go-to-Market, Product Leadership and AI Product Strategy for Leaders [4]. Older names such as PMC now map to the Foundations course [2].

Divide the price by the teaching time and you get the number most buyers never calculate: $2,999 for 12 live hours is about $250 per hour of live instruction. Live teaching from working product leaders has real value. The question is whether it is the part you need.

How AllthingsPM does this: our AI PM course is self-paced and always open, so there is no cohort date and no per-hour price. Each of the 101 lessons traces back to a skill that shows up in real PM job postings, and 14 graded case studies play the role of Product School's final project.

Is Pro or Unlimited better value than a single certification?

Only if you will take more than one course. The maths from Product School's own prices [1]:

  • Pro, $3,999 a year: 2 certifications, so about $2,000 each, plus weekly live AI workshops, on-demand content and the alumni community.
  • Unlimited, $4,999 a year: 10 certifications, so about $500 each if you finish all ten in the year, plus a ProductCon ticket and AI tool perks Product School values at over $50,000.

Ten 3-week courses is 30 weeks of part-time study inside one year. Few people with a full-time job will use all ten, and every course you skip raises your real cost per certificate. If you take three, Unlimited works out to about $1,666 each.

Both memberships are annual. Product School says you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the billing period, with refunds only "in certain cases, such as if you cancel shortly after becoming a member and haven't accessed course materials" [1][8].

How AllthingsPM does this: there is one plan and everything is in it. $20 a month or $120 a year (INR 1,200 a month or 8,400 a year in India) unlocks the whole course, unlimited practice and every tool, and you can see the free tier before you pay anything on the pricing page.

Are there discounts, payment plans or employer reimbursement?

Yes, Product School lists several ways to lower or spread the cost [1][8]:

  • Upfront payment discount on memberships.
  • "Study now, pay later" instalment plans, which vary by region.
  • Employer sponsorship. Product School says many students are sponsored by their companies, and each course includes a reimbursement kit [2][8].
  • Group discount: 10% off single certifications for groups of 3 to 10 people.
  • Seasonal sales. Product School has run promotions before, such as a 40% off offer on all certifications it posted on X in February 2025 [9].

Enterprise team pricing is custom and needs a sales call [1].

If your employer has a learning budget that must be spent on a live, certified course, that is the strongest case for Product School. If you are paying yourself, an instalment plan still adds up to $2,999.

How AllthingsPM does this: at $20 a month there is nothing to finance. A $120 annual subscription is a small ask of any learning budget, and the free tier means you can test the JD mock interview before anyone signs off.

Is a Product School certification worth the cost?

It depends on who pays and what you want from it.

The honest pattern in PM communities is scepticism about certificates as a hiring signal. In r/ProductManagement, one commenter put it plainly: "few employers will be impressed by a certificate program" [5]. Another thread concludes that the certifications worth doing are the ones your employer sponsors [6]. On Blind, a user wrote that "PM certifications have 0 value, or close to it" [7].

That does not make the teaching worthless. Structure, a cohort and live feedback help some people learn. But the two things that decide a PM offer are:

  1. Knowing the material well enough to talk about it under pressure, especially AI topics such as evals, agents and AI PRDs that now show up in job postings.
  2. Passing the interview loop: product sense, metrics, execution and behavioral rounds, often shaped by the specific role.

A certificate is evidence of the first and says nothing about the second. That is where most of your money should go.

How AllthingsPM does this: we built the product around those two things. The AI PM course teaches the skills employers list, including evals and the AI PRD. Then the question bank and JD mock interviews train you to say it out loud, scored, with follow-ups, for the exact role you are applying to.

What does $120 a year get you on AllthingsPM?

Here is everything included, set against what $2,999 buys once:

What AllthingsPM does not include: live instructors, a cohort or a certificate. For a self-funded learner aiming at a PM or AI PM job, those are the parts that cost the most and move the offer the least.

How do you get the certificate value for a fraction of the price?

A 3-week Product School course has 12 live hours. Here is a 3-week plan inside AllthingsPM that covers the same ground, plus the interview.

Week 1: foundations and AI basics. Work through the opening chapters of the AI PM course, about 45 minutes a day. Each evening, answer 3 questions for a target company from the question bank and compare with the answer guide.

Week 2: the AI skills interviewers test. Do the evals and AI PRD chapters and one graded case study. The case study is your "final project": a written artifact you can show in an interview.

Week 3: the interview. Pick two real roles, from the jobs catalog or any posting you like, and run one JD mock a day. Re-run the weakest one. Check your resume against each posting with JD resume review.

Total cost on the free tier: $0. On the paid plan for the month: $20. Against $2,999 for the Product School course [1].

If you still want a line on LinkedIn, free badges exist: Pendo says its Learning Lab courses are "completely free" and end in a verifiable badge [10]. Pair one with AllthingsPM and you have both a credential and the practice.

How AllthingsPM does this: progress, case studies and mock scores all live in one account, so after three weeks you can see exactly which question types and topics still score low. That is feedback a certificate cannot give you. For more options, read Product School alternatives that cost less and our roundup of the best AI product management courses.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for Product School certification cost

When you compare on what you get per dollar, the decision is straightforward.

  • Price: $120 a year against $2,999 for one certification, $3,999 for Pro or $4,999 for Unlimited [1]. That is about 25 years of AllthingsPM for one Product School course.
  • Breadth: a 101-lesson course covering the whole AI PM job, not one 12-hour topic.
  • Built from demand: the syllabus comes from 604 real PM job postings and is updated weekly.
  • The interview: mocks built from any job description, by text or voice, scored with follow-ups, plus 4,122 real questions with answer guides.
  • The job hunt: 116 live AI PM roles, resume review against a JD and Resume Job Match in the same account.

Product School has genuine strengths: live instructors who are working product leaders, a recognised certificate and a large alumni network [1][2]. If your employer is paying and wants a certified live course, it is a reasonable choice. For everyone paying their own way, AllthingsPM gets you further toward an offer for a small fraction of the cost.

Verdict: spend $120 on skills and interview reps before you spend $2,999 on a certificate. Start the AI PM course free.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Product School certification cost?

$2,999 for a single live certification, $3,999 a year for Pro with 2 certifications, and $4,999 a year for Unlimited with 10 certifications [1]. Prices checked 26 September 2026.

What is the best way to learn product management without paying $2,999?

AllthingsPM. It gives you an AI PM course built from 604 real job postings, mock interviews from any job description and 4,122 real questions with answer guides for $120 a year, with a free tier. Add a free Pendo badge if you want a credential [10].

How long is a Product School certification?

Product School lists its Foundations and AI Product Management certifications as 3 weeks part-time, with 6 live sessions and 12 live hours, plus labs and a graded final project [2][3].

Does Product School offer payment plans or refunds?

It offers an upfront payment discount, region-based instalment plans, employer sponsorship support and a 10% group discount for 3 to 10 people. Refunds are offered only in certain cases, such as cancelling soon after joining without accessing course materials [1][8].

Is the Product School certification recognised by employers?

It is a well-known name, but PMs in hiring discussions say certificates rarely decide offers and that experience and interview performance matter more [5][6][7]. Interview practice, such as a JD mock interview, is the better use of a limited budget.

Does AllthingsPM give a certificate?

No. AllthingsPM gives you an AI PM course, graded case studies and interview practice, but not an employer-recognised certificate, and it has no live instructors. It costs $20 a month or $120 a year, with a free tier.
