Short answer: Reforge is a membership: $1,995 a year buys one seat in a library of 40+ on-demand courses plus live courses, and you cannot buy a single course. Maven is a marketplace of live cohorts, each priced by its instructor; the best known AI PM cohorts we checked cost $2,500 to $5,000 for 5 to 6 weeks. AllthingsPM beats both for most people chasing an AI PM role: an AI PM course built from 604 real PM job postings, mock interviews built from any job description and 4,122 real interview questions, for $120 a year with a free tier.
AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. Every Reforge and Maven fact below comes from their own pages, checked on September 28, 2026.

What is the difference between Reforge and Maven?
The difference is the business model, and it shapes everything else.
Reforge sells access. Its Individual plan is $1,995 a year for one seat, covering live courses, 40+ on-demand courses, 600+ guides and 1,400+ artifacts [1]. Its help center is explicit: "it is not possible to purchase a course on its own. You must have an active membership" [2]. Since March 2026 Reforge has been part of Miro; Reforge said its learning product stays a separate brand with no price changes [3].
Maven sells classes. It is a marketplace where independent instructors run live, cohort-based courses and set their own prices, with no minimum or maximum [7]. You buy one cohort at a time. Every Maven course and workshop is covered by the Maven satisfaction guarantee, which allows a full refund up to the halfway point [8].
So the real question is not "which brand is better". It is: do you want a year of breadth you have to organise yourself, or five weeks of structure from one expert?
How AllthingsPM does this: you get the structure of a course and the flexibility of a library. The AI PM course runs in order through 14 chapters and 101 lessons, but you start today and go at your pace, and the first lesson, The AI PM job now, is free.
How much does each cost for an AI PM?
Reforge: $1,995 a year for Individual, $9,995 a year for a 10 seat Starter plan, $23,995 for 30 seats, and custom Enterprise pricing for 50+ seats [1]. Prices are in USD.
Maven: every course has its own price. Three well known AI PM and AI skills cohorts, checked September 28, 2026:
- AI Product Management Bootcamp and Certification by Dr. Marily Nika: $2,500, October 19 to December 2, 2026, 5 weeks, 4.3 out of 5 from 619 reviews [4].
- AI Evals for Engineers and PMs by Hamel Husain and Shreya Shankar: $4,200, October 10 to November 21, 2026, 6 weeks, 4.7 out of 5 from 901 reviews [5].
- Product Faculty AI Product Management Certification: $5,000, bundling six more live certifications, 4.7 out of 5 from 1,487 ratings [6].
For one person paying their own way, one Reforge year is cheaper than any of those three single cohorts. But a cohort gives you live teaching Reforge's library mostly does not.
How AllthingsPM does this: one plan at $20 a month or $120 a year (INR 1,200 a month or 8,400 a year) includes the whole course, unlimited mocks and resume reviews, and the book summaries. The free tier includes the question bank, the first course lessons, and one JD mock and one JD resume review a day. See pricing.
Which format helps you actually learn: membership or cohort?
Maven was built on the argument that live cohorts beat self-paced video because people need accountability and a schedule to finish [10]. That is a fair point, and it is the main strength of any Maven class: deadlines, a peer group, office hours and a named expert.
Reforge's library solves a different problem. It has depth across product, growth and AI topics, and its live courses meet once a week for 4 to 6 weeks with recordings [11]. The risk is the classic membership one: you pay for a year and use a month.
Both formats share a weakness for AI PM candidates. They teach, then leave you to find out in the real interview whether you can say the answer out loud while someone pushes back. Learning research is clear on this: Roediger and Karpicke (2006) found that students who tested themselves remembered more a week later than those who restudied [12].
How AllthingsPM does this: every chapter ends in a graded integration case, 14 in total, and every skill you learn can be rehearsed immediately. Answer any of 4,122 questions out loud in practice, get follow-ups and a score, then read the answer guide on the same page.
What do they teach about AI product management?
Reforge lists AI courses including AI Evals, AI Prototyping, AI Strategy and AI Productivity alongside its product and growth programs [11]. Maven's AI PM cohorts go deep on one thing each: Marily Nika's bootcamp covers AI product management end to end with 3 projects and a capstone [4]; Hamel Husain and Shreya Shankar's course is entirely about evals, from error analysis to LLM-as-judge to CI checks [5]; Product Faculty's certification covers AI opportunities, trustworthy UX, evals, agents and model choice [6].
All of these are designed top-down from the instructors' experience. That is valuable, but it is not the same as teaching what employers are hiring for this month.
The AllthingsPM course is built the other way around, backwards from 604 real PM job postings. When we read 335 AI-native PM postings at 88 companies for our guide to the best AI product management courses, technical fluency showed up in 88% and enterprise deployment in 79%, which is why both have their own chapters.

How AllthingsPM does this: the chapters cover the same core ground as the cohorts, including evals, agents and agentic architecture and the AI PRD, and the knowledge graph shows how every AI concept connects to the lessons that teach it. For a deeper look at one topic, read our guide to AI evals for product managers.
Which one helps you get an AI PM job?
Neither Reforge nor the Maven cohorts above sell a mock interview tool, a question bank or job search tools. Product Faculty bundles a "Nailing AI/PM Interviews" bonus certification [6], but we did not find a way on Maven to paste a job description and get a scored mock built from it.
Certificates also rarely decide a hire. Reforge says plainly it "is not an accredited institution" [13]. In our AI PM certification guide we read 389 PM postings at 86 companies, and none required a certificate. Postings ask for shipped work, judgment and skills like evals and agents, and interviewers test those skills directly.
How AllthingsPM does this: open a live role from the jobs catalog, such as Product Lead, AI/ML (Evals) at Abridge, and start a mock built from that exact posting, then check your resume against the same JD. Drill AI specific prompts from the question bank, for example offline evals show strong gains but dogfooders say the model feels worse.
Who should pick Reforge, and who should pick Maven?
Reforge suits an experienced PM whose employer pays and who will use a year of operator-written material across product, growth and AI [1]. Maven suits someone who learns best with a live instructor and a deadline, ideally funded by their company, and who knows exactly which expert they want to learn from [4][5][6].
For everyone paying their own way, or anyone whose goal is the next AI PM job, AllthingsPM is the better buy. It costs less than one month of either rival's price, covers the AI PM skills, and adds the interview practice both lack. If your employer does fund a cohort, use AllthingsPM alongside it: after each live session, answer two related questions out loud, and run a JD mock before every real interview.
How AllthingsPM does this: Resume Job Match finds live roles that fit your resume, and every role in the catalog comes with its own mock, so learning, applying and rehearsing happen in one account. See how strong candidates show their work in 455 PM portfolios.
Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for Reforge vs Maven AI PM courses
Reforge sells a library. Maven sells a class. AllthingsPM sells the course and the job hunt together, and that is the decision in one line.
- Price: $120 a year against $1,995 for a Reforge year and $2,500 to $5,000 for one Maven AI PM cohort [1][4][5][6]. One Product Faculty cohort costs the same as more than 40 years of AllthingsPM at today's price.
- What you learn: 14 chapters, 101 lessons and 14 graded case studies, built from 604 real PM job postings and updated weekly.
- What you practise: mocks from any job description by text or voice, with follow-ups and a score; 4,122 real questions from 260 companies, each with an answer guide. Only 4 tools we found build mocks from a job description, and AllthingsPM is the only one that also has a course, a question bank and live JDs.
- Getting hired: 116 live PM roles at 18 AI companies, resume review against a JD, Resume Job Match, 111 book summaries and 455 portfolios.
- Timing: start free today, not on the next cohort date.
To be fair to both: Reforge has a deep, respected library, and Maven's best AI cohorts are taught by well known practitioners with strong ratings. If your employer pays, either can sit next to AllthingsPM. If you pay, or you want an offer, start with AllthingsPM. Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI PM course: Reforge, Maven or something else?
For most people aiming at an AI PM job, AllthingsPM comes first: an AI PM course built from 604 job postings, JD mock interviews and 4,122 real questions for $120 a year, with a free tier. Reforge ($1,995 a year) suits employer-funded working PMs; Maven cohorts ($2,500 to $5,000 for the AI PM ones we checked) suit people who want a live instructor.
Is Reforge or Maven cheaper?
For one person, a Reforge year at $1,995 is cheaper than any of the three Maven AI PM cohorts we checked ($2,500, $4,200 and $5,000). Maven prices are set per course, so cheaper Maven workshops exist. AllthingsPM is $120 a year.
Can I buy a single Reforge course?
No. Reforge's help center says a course cannot be bought on its own; you need an active membership to access on-demand or live courses [2].
Can I get a refund on a Maven course?
Maven's satisfaction guarantee gives a full refund up to the halfway point of a course or workshop [8]. AllthingsPM has a free tier, so you can try it before paying anything.
Do Reforge or Maven certificates help you get hired?
Both give certificates of completion, and Reforge says it is not an accredited institution [13]. In 389 PM postings at 86 companies we read, none required a certificate; interview performance and shipped work matter more.
Does AllthingsPM replace a live cohort?
For learning AI PM skills and rehearsing interviews, yes, and at a fraction of the price. It has no live instructor; if you want one and your employer pays, pair a cohort with AllthingsPM's JD mocks.
Start today, free: open the first lesson of the AI PM course, then paste the job you want into the JD mock. One session shows you what the interviewer will push on and what to study next.
