Three things jump out. First, AI companies that post pay sit well above the national AI PM average: the median posted floor in our data ($214,300) is above Glassdoor's national AI PM average ($194,644), and the median midpoint ($261,000) is above Glassdoor's 75th percentile ($240,069). Second, London pays roughly a third more than the UK average. Third, India is a two-tier market: product companies and global capability centres pay several times what services firms pay.
What do AI companies actually post for PM pay?
Salary sites average self-reported numbers from every kind of employer. Job descriptions are different: US pay transparency laws in states such as California, New York and Washington push employers to print the base range they will pay for that role. So we read them.
We pulled every PM posting in the AllthingsPM jobs corpus that printed a salary, removed duplicates (the same role listed twice) and one non-PM role, and were left with 62 unique postings from nine AI companies, posted between April 2025 and September 2026.
The pattern by company:
- Anthropic posts two bands: $305,000 to $385,000 for most PM roles (Safeguards, Research, Public Sector, Claude Science) and $385,000 to $460,000 for others (Growth, Labs, Cybersecurity, Business Technology). Levels.fyi's self-reported Anthropic PM data lands in the same place, an average of $374,000 to $440,000 total.
- Suno posts $200,000 to $330,000, with ML Research and Mobile Creation at the top.
- Harvey posts $177,700 to $266,500 for senior PMs and $213,600 to $300,000 for staff PMs.
- Decagon posts $200,000 to $285,000 for Senior Agent PMs and $232,000 to $290,000 for platform PMs.
- Scale AI runs from $171,200 to $214,000 (AI PM, Coding/Multimodal) up to $210,000 to $345,000 (Staff PM, Agentic Platform; Forward Deployed PM, Public Sector). Levels.fyi lists Scale AI PM pay at $173,000 to $259,000.
- Figma posts very wide bands, $169,000 to $303,000 for PMs and $204,000 to $348,000 for PM managers.
- Glean posts $160,000 to $280,000, the lowest floor in the set.
The median midpoint across all 62 is $261,000. That is base salary only. Almost all of these companies add equity on top.

Level matters more than title. KORE1's June 2026 guide splits US AI PM pay like this:

Levels.fyi, which verifies submissions against offer letters, shows a median total compensation of $230,000 for all US product managers, rising to $306,000 in the San Francisco Bay Area and $460,000 at the 90th percentile.
Location still moves the number. KORE1 estimates senior AI PM total pay at about $366,000 in the Bay Area against about $260,000 in remote, non-hub roles.
Startups pay differently. Paraform, citing Wellfound hiring data, puts the average expected AI PM salary at startups at $163,000, with a range of $97,000 to $253,000, and more of the upside in equity.

Is there an AI premium over regular PM pay?
Yes, though the size depends on who measures it. Product School puts AI PM base pay at $130,000 to $200,000 against $101,000 to $158,000 for general PMs, a gap of about $29,000 to $42,000 at each end. That is a comparison of ranges, not a controlled study.

The honest reading: "AI PM" is not one job. KORE1 notes that applied AI PMs (adding AI features to a product) and core model PMs (working on the model itself, evals, data) are paid very differently. The top bands in our data belong to model companies: Anthropic's Research, Safeguards and Labs roles, and Scale AI's agentic and data roles.

- UK national: £65,000 (25th percentile) to £92,000 (75th percentile), median £73,750.
- London: £88,500 to £125,000, median £100,250.
Levels.fyi, which covers all PMs and includes bonus and stock, shows a UK median total compensation of £104,903, with £145,000 at the 75th percentile and £191,000 at the 90th. London's median on Levels.fyi is £110,493.
The gap between those two sources is mostly composition. Robert Half measures salary for the role across the market; Levels.fyi skews towards big tech employers that pay in stock. If you are aiming at a US AI lab's London office, the Levels.fyi end is the more realistic reference.

India has the widest spread of the three markets. Levels.fyi shows a median total compensation of ₹44.9 lakh for product managers in India, with the 25th percentile at ₹29.5 lakh, the 75th at ₹69.3 lakh and the 90th at ₹95.1 lakh. By city, Hyderabad leads at ₹54.4 lakh, then Bengaluru at ₹40.6 lakh and Pune at ₹36.0 lakh.
For the AI PM title specifically, Product Leadership reports a Glassdoor India average of ₹30 lakh (May 2026) and a company type spread that is worth knowing:

- Target model and AI-native companies. The top of our chart is dominated by companies whose product is the model or an agent: Anthropic, Scale AI, Suno, Harvey, Decagon. Adding AI to a legacy product usually pays closer to general PM rates.
- Interview at the next level. Bands overlap across levels. A senior band at Harvey ($177,700 to $266,500) and a staff band ($213,600 to $300,000) overlap by more than $50,000, so the level you are hired at matters more than negotiating inside a band.
