What is the real difference between AI mocks and peer mocks?
A peer mock is two candidates taking turns. On StellarPeers you "book sessions on the community calendar, take turns interviewing, and exchange structured feedback with peers." That is real practice with a real person, and it is free.
The catch is that your interviewer is also a candidate. They may not know what a strong answer at Meta looks like, they may not push back, and they may not show up prepared. One candidate on r/APMprograms said about half of their peer partners did no prep at all. StellarPeers has community rules for no shows and late cancellations, which tells you the problem is real enough to need rules.
An AI mock removes those variables. The interviewer is available at 2 a.m., asks follow-ups every time, and scores you against the same bar every session. What you lose is the human in the room; what you gain is volume and consistency.
How AllthingsPM does this: you open practice, pick any question or paste a posting into the JD mock, and answer by voice or text in one session screen. The AI interviewer follows up on what you actually said ("why that segment?", "what would you cut?"), then returns a score with specific notes on what to fix.

Why does practice volume matter so much?
Because retrieval under pressure is a skill. Roediger and Karpicke (2006) found that students who tested themselves remembered more a week later than students who re-read the same material. Answering out loud, then checking against a model answer, is testing yourself.
Peer mocks limit that volume. Each one needs a partner, a time slot and an hour, half of which you spend interviewing the other person. On a busy week, that can mean two or three reps.
How AllthingsPM does this: every one of our 4,122 questions in the question bank has its own page with an answer guide, so each rep ends with a model to compare against. You can run a mock on a question, read the guide on the same page, and go again in the same sitting.
Which is better for a specific company or role?
AllthingsPM. StellarPeers organises content "by company, question type, and subtype," and its paid plans add frameworks for Amazon, Meta and Google. That helps if you are interviewing at one of those three.
But interviews differ by role, not only by company. A Growth PM and a Platform PM at the same company face different questions, and the job description is the best public clue to which. We did not find a way to paste a job description into StellarPeers and have the mock built from it.
How AllthingsPM does this: the JD mock shapes the interview to the responsibilities and seniority in any posting you paste. Our jobs catalog lists 116 live PM roles at 18 AI companies, each with its own mock, and every company has a hub, such as Meta, with its real questions. For Meta specifically, see our Meta PM interview guide.

What that means:
- For one month, AllthingsPM is about a quarter of the price ($20 against $79).
- For a year, AllthingsPM is $60 cheaper ($120 against $180) and includes a full AI PM course.
- StellarPeers says it does not offer refunds and its plans renew automatically unless you cancel.
- StellarPeers' free plan is generous for human reps. Unlimited peer mocks cost nothing but time. The paid plan mainly buys frameworks, solved cases and videos, not better mocks.
- One StellarPeers expert mock ($250) costs more than two years of AllthingsPM on the annual plan.
How AllthingsPM does this: one subscription covers the mocks, the whole AI PM course, unlimited resume reviews and the library, so you are not paying separately for practice and learning. Start on the free tier and check pricing only after a free JD mock has shown you it helps.
Frameworks or feedback: which helps you more?
StellarPeers' paid content is built around frameworks: 60+ of them, for generic questions and for Amazon, Meta and Google. Frameworks help you structure an answer. They do not tell you whether your answer was good.
Interviewers score what you say out loud under follow-up pressure. That is why feedback on your own answers matters more than another framework to memorise. A peer can give it, but their feedback is only as good as their own prep.
How AllthingsPM does this: each answer guide in the question bank shows a strong structure for that exact question, and each mock scores your version against it. For the theory behind the product sense round, our course lesson on the AI product sense and execution rounds and the product sense interview framework cover the structure; the mocks then test whether you can use it.
Which is better for AI PM roles?
AllthingsPM, clearly. StellarPeers' frameworks and videos focus on Meta, Google and Amazon. AI company loops increasingly test evals, model tradeoffs, agent failure modes and AI product metrics, which a peer who has never shipped an AI product will struggle to probe.
Our AI PM course was built backwards from 604 real PM job postings and is updated weekly. Lessons such as the AI PRD teach the skills, the knowledge graph maps how the concepts connect, and the jobs catalog lets you rehearse them on real roles at AI companies.
How AllthingsPM does this: pick a live AI company role, check your resume against it with resume review, run its mock, and study the lesson that matches the follow-up you fumbled. If you are still looking for roles, Resume Job Match finds openings that fit your resume.
Can you use both?
Yes, and the mix is simple. Use AllthingsPM for daily reps: one mock on the job you want, one or two questions from its company hub, the answer guide after each. Add a StellarPeers peer mock once a week if you want a live human to practise nerves and small talk.
A sample week before a PM loop:
- Day 1: run the free resume review against the posting and note the gaps an interviewer will probe.
- Day 2: run your first JD mock on the same posting and save the follow-ups that caught you out.
- Day 3: study those gaps in the AI PM course or the company's answer guides.
- Day 4: answer five questions from the company hub out loud in practice, reading each guide after.
- Day 5: second JD mock on the same posting; compare your score with Day 2.
- Day 6: optional StellarPeers peer mock for a live human rep.
- Day 7: rest, and skim a framework summary such as Decode and Conquer.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice as a StellarPeers alternative
The decision comes down to what limits your prep. For most candidates it is not frameworks; it is getting enough good reps on the interview they will actually face. On every point we could check, AllthingsPM fits that better:
- No waiting for a partner. The AI interviewer is available any time, asks follow-ups and scores every answer.
- It starts from your role. Mocks are built from any job description you paste, which we did not find on StellarPeers.
- More questions, each with a guide. 4,122 real questions from 260 companies, against 1,100+ community questions.
- It teaches, not only tests. A 14 chapter, 101 lesson AI PM course with 14 graded case studies, built from 604 real job postings.
- It costs less. $20 a month against $79, $120 a year against $180, with resume tools and a library included.
StellarPeers' genuine strength is a live human across the table, free, plus founder coaching for those who can pay for it; that is worth a weekly session, not your whole plan. Our verdict: for daily practice, role-specific prep and AI PM roles, AllthingsPM is the better choice. Start a free JD mock or compare plans.
Start today, free: paste the job description you most want into the JD mock, answer out loud, and after one session you will know exactly where the interviewer will push and what to study next. No card needed.
