Best Peer Mock Interview Communities for PMs (2026)

The best way to run PM mock interview practice in 2026 is AllthingsPM for daily scored mocks built from your job description, plus a free peer community such as StellarPeers, Lewis C. Lin's Slack group or Aced for live human reps.

AllthingsPM·September 28, 2026·15 min read
Two candidates on a video call take turns interviewing each other, one with a laptop and a paper timer, the other holding a notepad of blank questions
Peers give you a live human across the table. A daily scored mock keeps you sharp between sessions.

The best setup for PM mock interview practice in 2026 starts with AllthingsPM: one free AI mock a day built from the exact job description you are interviewing for, with follow-ups and a score, and 4,122 real questions from 260 companies to bring into any peer session. Add one free peer community for live human reps: StellarPeers (unlimited peer mocks), Lewis C. Lin's PM interview community (free Slack group and sign-up sheet) or Aced, formerly Exponent and now home of Pramp (5 peer mocks a month free).

AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. Every provider detail below was checked on its own page in September 2026.

Bar chart of free PM practice sessions per 30 days: AllthingsPM first and highlighted at 30 scored mocks built from your job description, then StellarPeers and Lewis C. Read the chart this way: the peer communities with no stated cap are generous, but every session needs another candidate with a free hour. AllthingsPM is the only option in the chart that runs the moment you sit down.

Why do PMs practice with peers at all?

Because the real interview is a live human. A peer mock trains the things a solo drill cannot: talking while someone watches, handling an interruption, and reading whether the listener is following.

Intrico's guide to peer mocks recommends six to eight weeks of preparation, with experienced hires completing "at least 40" mock interviews, and notes that even one or two sessions before an interview help [9]. Few people can find 40 human partners. That gap is exactly where daily AI practice fits.

How AllthingsPM does this. Use the JD mock for volume: paste the posting, answer out loud or in text, get follow-ups and a score. Save your peer sessions for what only a human gives you, and walk in already fluent in the format.

The communities, ranked

1. AllthingsPM: the practice layer every peer community is missing

AllthingsPM is not a peer network, and that is the point. It gives you everything a peer session lacks: a question tied to your target company, an answer guide to score against, and a mock you can run tonight without booking anyone.

  • JD mocks. Paste any job description into the JD mock and the interviewer builds the round around that company, role and level, with follow-ups and a score.
  • Question pages to share. Each of the 4,122 questions in the question bank has its own page and answer guide, grouped by company, such as Google and Meta. Send the link to your peer before the call.
  • Live AI roles. The jobs catalog lists 116 live PM job descriptions at 18 AI companies, each with a ready-made mock, such as this Anthropic growth PM role.
  • Course. The AI PM course is built from 604 real PM job postings, with a chapter on the AI PM interview loop.

The free plan includes one JD mock and one resume review a day [1]. Pro is $20 a month or $120 a year for unlimited mocks. It has no human peers, so pair it with one community below.

2. StellarPeers: the most free human reps

StellarPeers' free plan includes unlimited peer mock interviews through a 24/7 community calendar, 1,200+ community-shared questions, 140+ coaching videos and the option to observe other people's mocks; you need a LinkedIn profile to use the calendar [2]. Paid plans run 1, 3 or 12 months and add solved questions and company frameworks for Amazon, Meta and Google [2]. Intrico notes that joining requires approval and that preparation levels vary between partners [9].

How AllthingsPM does this. Before a StellarPeers call, pick a question from the company's page in our question bank and send your partner the answer guide. They now have a bar to score you against. The next day, run the same question solo in a mock interview to see if the fix stuck.

3. Lewis C. Lin's PM interview community: best for framework-trained partners

Lewis C. Lin, author of well-known PM interview books, runs a Slack community for PM candidates with peer networking, study materials and job updates, plus a free mock interview sign-up sheet where you pick an interviewer and book through Calendly [3]. Partners find each other through Slack posts and a new Google Sheet each month [4]. Intrico's view: members have "typically read Lewis' books and have studied frameworks," though inexperienced members still sign up [9].

How AllthingsPM does this. Framework-trained partners are good at structure and weaker at company context. Our JD mock fills that in: an AI lab role gets asked about evals and model limits, a growth role about metrics. Read more in AI PM interview questions.

4. Aced (formerly Exponent), including Pramp: easiest matching

Aced matches you automatically with a peer preparing for the same interviews; you take turns as interviewer and candidate for about 30 minutes each [5]. Free users get monthly credits, and paid members get unlimited peer mocks [5]. Pramp is now part of Aced and old Pramp accounts can be linked [5]. On the pricing page we checked on 26 September 2026, Basic included 5 peer mocks a month and Pro cost $12 a month billed annually or $79 month to month [6]. Intrico credits Pramp-style matching as easy "without fighting Slack, Google Sheets or Calendars," with less control over company-specific prep [9].

How AllthingsPM does this. Aced assigns the question; you do not choose your target company's round. With AllthingsPM you practice the exact posting, so your 5 free peer mocks go on realism while daily JD mocks cover the company. Compare them in AllthingsPM vs Exponent.

5. Product Management Exercises: community answers plus peers

Known for a large bank of community answers. Free accounts see 30+ questions; peer practice comes with the $12 a month Interview Prep plan [7]. It suits people who learn by reading many answers to one question. See AllthingsPM vs PM Exercises.

6. Reddit volunteers: free calibration from working PMs

Working PMs sometimes post free mock offers. In May 2026 a PM on r/prodmgmt offered product sense, metrics and behavioral mocks with "no coaching or upsell; just paying it forward" [10], and a similar r/ProductManagement_IN thread ran in December 2025 [11]. Reply fast with your target role and round.

7. ADPList: free mentors, some of whom run mocks

ADPList says it is "100% free," with 36,000+ active mentors across design, product, engineering and more [8]. Mock interviews are not its main product, so ask a PM mentor directly whether they will run one.

8. HelloPM: free volunteer mocks in India

HelloPM runs free 45 to 60 minute Zoom mocks on weekends and holidays, tailored to your round and target company, and says it cannot promise every applicant a slot [12].

How AllthingsPM does this. Volunteer and mentor time is scarce, so do not spend it on basics. Run a week of JD mocks first, then bring your two weakest answers to the volunteer. Our free AI mock interview guide shows how to score yourself between sessions.

What goes wrong in peer mock interviews?

Three things, mostly.

Partners who did not prepare. One r/APMprograms user wrote that about half of their peer partners "don't do any prep at all beforehand" [13]. You lose half the hour to a partner reading the question for the first time.

No bar to score against. Two candidates can agree an answer was good when a hiring manager would not. Without an answer guide, feedback is opinion.

No-shows and scheduling. Calendars and Slack threads cost time. Intrico's etiquette advice is to cancel responsibly, and to offer "an apology gift of a tough practice question or helpful tip" if you must [9].

How AllthingsPM does this. Each question page in the question bank has an answer guide, so your partner can score you on structure, metrics and trade-offs rather than gut feel. If your partner does not show, open the JD mock and run the hour anyway.

How do you run a great peer mock?

Use the same script every time. It takes the guesswork out for both of you.

  1. Pick the question the day before. Choose it from your target company's page, for example design an anti-scamming product for Meta, and send the link and answer guide to your partner.
  2. Agree the round and the time. Product sense, execution, metrics or behavioral; about 30 minutes each way, as on Aced [5].
  3. Interviewer pushes back. Ask at least two follow-ups: "Why that user?" and "What would you cut?"
  4. Feedback in three lines. One strength, one fix, one moment the listener lost the thread.
  5. Re-run the question solo two days later in a mock interview to check the fix held.

How AllthingsPM does this. Steps 1 and 5 happen inside AllthingsPM: the question and answer guide come from the bank, and the solo re-run is a scored mock with follow-ups. For AI PM roles, read the AI product sense round lesson first so both of you know what a strong answer covers.

What weekly routine combines peers and AI?

A plan most candidates can keep, assuming a real loop in two to three weeks:

DayPracticeWhere
Monday to FridayOne JD mock on the posting you applied toAllthingsPM
TuesdayPeer mock on your weakest roundStellarPeers or Lewis C. Lin's community
ThursdayPeer mock on a question from your target companyAced or StellarPeers
SaturdayReview scores, reread answer guides, fix one habitAllthingsPM question bank
Before the final roundOne volunteer or mentor mockReddit, ADPList or HelloPM

That is roughly 20 scored mocks and 8 human mocks a month for free, which covers most of Intrico's suggested volume [9]. On the last day, check your resume against the JD so every story you tell is on the page.

How AllthingsPM does this. The weekday column runs entirely on the free plan: one JD mock and one resume review a day. If you want two or three mocks a day in the last week, Pro makes them unlimited for $20 a month.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for PM mock interview practice

Peer communities are generous and worth joining. StellarPeers gives unlimited free human reps, Lewis C. Lin's group gives framework-trained partners, and Aced makes matching painless. Use one of them twice a week for the feeling of a live interviewer.

But peer practice has a ceiling. It depends on another candidate's calendar, the question is rarely tied to your target role, and the feedback comes from someone at your own level. The daily work that actually moves your score needs three things peers cannot promise: relevance, a real bar and availability.

AllthingsPM gives you all three:

  • Relevance. The mock is built from the job description you paste, so you rehearse that company, role and level, not a random question.
  • A bar. 4,122 real questions from 260 companies, each with an answer guide, plus a score and follow-ups on every mock.
  • Availability. One free JD mock every day, 30 a month, at any hour, with no partner to book.

Around that sits the rest of your prep in one account: an AI PM course built from 604 real job postings, 116 live AI company job descriptions and resume review against a JD. Unlimited mocks cost $20 a month, less than the $79 month-to-month price of Aced Pro.

The verdict: make AllthingsPM your daily practice and add one peer community for human reps. Start your free JD mock.

Your next peer mock is only as good as the practice you do before it. Open AllthingsPM, paste the posting, and run today's free mock; you will walk into your next peer session knowing exactly which answer to fix.
