How the options are ranked
Everything here is free, so price does not separate them. What does is how close the practice is to your real interview, and how useful the feedback is. They are ranked on three things:
- Relevance: is the question written for the role, company and level you are interviewing for?
- Feedback: do you get follow-ups and a score against what PM interviewers look for?
- Reliability: can you get a session tonight, without a no-show?
Unlimited generic reps score well on volume but poorly on relevance. A daily mock built from your actual posting wins on relevance and reliability, which is why it is listed first.
How AllthingsPM does this: our JD mock scores high on all three at once. Relevance comes from the posting you paste, feedback comes from follow-ups and a score on every answer, and reliability comes from the fact that there is no partner to book: the free mock is there at 7 AM or midnight. Volume stays honest too, because 30 targeted mocks a month is more than most candidates can properly review.
The 9 best free PM mock interview options, ranked
1. AllthingsPM: best free mock for the job you actually applied to
Paste any job description into the JD mock. An AI interviewer asks questions written for that role, company and level, follows up the way a real interviewer does, and scores your answer. You can type or speak. One full JD mock a day is free [1]. Only 4 tools we found build mocks from a job description, and AllthingsPM is the only one that also gives you a course, a question bank and live job descriptions in the same place.
The free question bank holds 4,122 real PM interview questions from 260 companies, each on its own page with an answer guide, and every company has a page, such as Google (948 questions) and Meta (757). You can start a mock interview from any of them. If you are targeting AI product roles, the jobs catalog holds 116 live PM job descriptions from 18 AI companies, each with its own mock, like this Anthropic growth PM role.

The catch: one full mock a day on the free tier, and no human coaches or peers. Pro ($20 a month or $120 a year; INR 1,200 a month) makes mocks unlimited. The same account also has the AI PM course, built from 604 real PM job postings. Our free AI mock interview guide shows how to run and score a mock step by step.
2. StellarPeers: best free human reps
StellarPeers' free plan includes unlimited peer mocks through a 24/7 booking calendar, the option to observe other people's mocks, and 1,100+ community questions; you need a LinkedIn profile to join [2]. It is the most live practice you can get for free. The catch is that your interviewer is another candidate: one candidate on r/APMprograms said about half of their peer partners did no prep at all [12]. Bring a question from our bank and its answer guide so your partner has something to score against.
How AllthingsPM does this: every one of the 4,122 questions in our question bank has its own page and answer guide, so a peer session stops being two people guessing. Open the page, share it with your partner, and score each other against the guide. Then run the same question solo in a mock interview the next day to see if the fix stuck.
3. PMMockr: unlimited generic AI reps
PMMockr's pricing page says free users "can run unlimited Top-MNC mocks", with no card required [3]. That is good volume on classic product design, metrics and strategy cases. Company-specific sets are paid (INR 1,000 a month at list price), and it does not build a mock from your job description [3]. Use it for extra reps; use your daily JD mock for the interview you actually have.
4. Aced Basic, formerly Exponent (and Pramp): capped peer practice
Pramp now runs inside Aced, the new name for Exponent. Basic includes 5 peer mocks a month [4], with PM sessions at fixed times: 2 AM, 8 AM, 12 PM and 6 PM Pacific [13]. Aced has a long track record and a big community; for daily practice beyond 5 sessions a month, a free daily JD mock covers the gap. More in Pramp alternatives and Is Exponent worth it?.
5. Volunteer PMs on Reddit: free calibration, if you can get it
Working PMs post free mock offers. In May 2026 a PM on r/prodmgmt offered product sense, metrics and behavioral mocks with "no coaching or upsell; just paying it forward" [5], and a similar r/ProductManagement_IN post in December 2025 drew replies for weeks [6]. Reply fast with your experience, target role and round, and bring a question you have already practiced so the hour goes on feedback.
How AllthingsPM does this: volunteer hours are rare, so do not spend them on warm-ups. Run five or six daily JD mocks first, note the follow-ups where your score dipped, and bring exactly those to the volunteer. You arrive with a known weak spot instead of a blank slate.
6. HelloPM free mocks: free human mock in India
HelloPM runs free 45 to 60 minute Zoom mocks on weekends and holidays, tailored to your round and target company, and says it cannot promise every applicant a slot [7]. Apply early if your interview is booked.
7. ADPList: a free session with an experienced PM
ADPList lists 36,000+ mentors with "no monthly fees" [8]. Pick a PM at your target company type and ask for a 30-minute mock plus feedback. Mentors are volunteers, not trained interviewers, so bring the question yourself.
8. ChatGPT or Claude: a free fallback
ChatGPT's free plan includes unlimited text chats and limited voice [9]. You have to build every interview yourself, and chatbots tend to agree with you: OpenAI rolled back a 2025 GPT-4o update for being "overly flattering or agreeable" [14]. A purpose-built mock that writes the question from the job and scores you strictly saves the setup. If you do use a chatbot, our free AI mock guide has a strict prompt.
9. Product Sandbox and productinterview.com: one-time benchmarks
The Product Sandbox free plan includes one complete AI mock, then $39 for 30 days or $99 for 90 days [10]. productinterview.com includes one scored mock free, then $29 a month for unlimited [11]. Useful once, as a second opinion on your level.
Which free options are not really free?
- Product Management Exercises gives free accounts 30+ questions; peer mocks need the $12 a month plan [15]. See AllthingsPM vs PM Exercises.
- Coach marketplaces such as Prepfully and IGotAnOffer have no free sessions; PM coaching runs roughly $100 to $250 an hour and up [16].
How AllthingsPM does this: our free tier is a real daily allowance, not a one-time trial: one full mock and one resume review every day [1], with the whole question bank and the jobs catalog open. If you outgrow it, Pro at $20 a month is less than one paid AI trial month at $29 to $39 and a fraction of one coaching hour.
A free two-week plan, by situation
| Situation | Weekdays | Twice a week | Once, before the final |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interview booked at a named company | AllthingsPM JD mock on that posting | StellarPeers or Aced peer mock | A volunteer PM who knows the company |
| AI PM role | JD mock on the AI company's posting, plus the course chapter on the AI PM interview loop | Peer mock on AI PM interview questions | An ADPList mentor who shipped AI products |
| First PM job, no interview yet | AllthingsPM question-bank mock | StellarPeers peer mock | Volunteer PM or ADPList mentor |
| In India, no budget | AllthingsPM JD or question-bank mock | StellarPeers or a Reddit partner | HelloPM free mock |
How AllthingsPM does this, starting today: a mini plan you can run in the next hour.
- Paste your target posting into the JD mock and answer out loud. Note your score.
- Open the company page in the question bank and read the answer guide for the question type you scored lowest on.
- Run the free daily resume review against the same job description, so your resume and your stories match.
- Tomorrow, repeat the mock and compare scores. Two weeks of this is 14 scored, job-specific reps for $0.
Verdict
If you can only use one free tool, use AllthingsPM: it is the only free option we found that rehearses the exact job you applied to, scores you, and backs it with 4,122 real questions, company pages and live AI PM job descriptions. Read the answer guides on the company pages, add StellarPeers or Aced for live human reps, and one volunteer PM before your final round. Next step: paste your job description into the JD mock and run today's free mock.
Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for free PM mock interviews
Most free options give you one of three things: human volume (StellarPeers, Aced), generic AI volume (PMMockr, ChatGPT), or a single benchmark (Product Sandbox, productinterview.com). AllthingsPM is the one free option that gives you relevance, feedback and reliability at the same time.
- Relevance: the JD mock writes questions from the posting you applied to, so you rehearse that company, level and product area, not a generic case.
- Feedback: every answer gets follow-ups and a score, and the question bank pairs each of 4,122 questions with an answer guide you can check yourself against.
- Reliability: a mock is available whenever you are, with no booking slot and no no-show partner.
- Breadth: the same free account includes resume review against a job description, the jobs catalog with 116 live AI PM roles, and the AI PM course.
To be fair to the rest: StellarPeers and Aced give you a real human across the table, which is great for nerves, and a volunteer PM gives the sharpest calibration. Use them once or twice a week. For the daily practice that actually moves your score, and for rehearsing the job you applied to, AllthingsPM is the stronger free choice, and at $20 a month Pro stays cheaper than a single paid AI trial plus one coaching hour.
