How did we pick the best product manager interview courses?

Four questions decided the order:

  1. Does it make you practice, not just watch? Research on test-enhanced learning found that retrieving an answer beats rereading it for long-term retention [9]. An interview is retrieval under pressure, so a course should make you answer.
  2. Does it fit the role you are applying for? Loops differ by company and level. A course that adapts to your job description beats a generic one.
  3. Does it cover AI PM work? Aced now teaches AI product sense and GenAI rounds [2]. A 2026 course should cover evals, agents and model limits.
  4. What does a year cost? Most job searches run for months, so we compare a full year at list price.

How AllthingsPM does this. Every lesson in the AI PM course ends in something you do, and chapter 14 is the AI PM interview loop. When you finish a lesson, you run a scored mock on the same skill in practice, so learning and answering happen in the same session.

The 7 best PM interview prep courses, ranked

1. AllthingsPM: best overall PM interview course

AllthingsPM combines three things that other vendors sell separately.

  • The course. 14 chapters and 101 lessons, each with a short video, a written lesson and an exercise, plus 14 graded case studies. It was built from 604 real PM job postings and is updated weekly, so it teaches what hiring managers ask for today, including the AI product sense and execution rounds.
  • The mock interviewer. Paste any job description into the JD mock and the AI builds the interview around that company, role and level, asks follow-ups and scores each answer, by text or voice.
  • The question bank. 4,122 real questions from 260 companies, each with its own page and answer guide. Company pages such as Google and Anthropic group them.

The free tier includes one JD mock and one resume review a day. Pro is $20 a month or $120 a year for unlimited mocks and the full course [11]. There are no human coaches, so add one coach session before a real loop.

2. Aced (formerly Exponent): best for video lessons plus peers

Aced's PM course covers product strategy, product sense, analytical and execution, behavioral and technical rounds, with a GenAI interviews module and more than 100 video answers [2][3]. Basic is free with 5 peer mocks a month; Pro is $144 a year or $79 month to month; AI mocks sit on Expert at $240 a year or $99 a month [1]. Coaching starts at $249 an hour [1]. Its peer community is a real strength, but its AI interviewer assigns popular questions rather than building one from your posting. More in AllthingsPM vs Exponent.

3. Product Alliance: best for one flagship company

Product Alliance sells recorded video courses. Its main course, Hacking the PM Interview, has 18 hours of video, 85 interview questions answered by PMs and 62 pages of strategy guides, for $379 with lifetime access; all 11 courses were $429 on sale against a $999 list price [4][5]. Its FAQ says there are no refunds [5]. In a Levels.fyi thread, one reply said it is worthwhile if you interview at a company with a dedicated course [6]. See AllthingsPM vs Product Alliance.

4. IGotAnOffer Strong Hire PM course: best for course plus coaches

The Strong Hire PM course costs $139 for 6 months of access, renews every 6 months, includes a database of 360+ PM questions and gives access to the other Strong Hire courses [7]. Coaching is separate: credits start at $50 and PM coaches charge 2 to 5 credits an hour [8]. It is a solid written course with a strong coach marketplace next to it.

5. Product Management Exercises: best for community answers

PM Exercises is known for its community question bank (3,185 questions across 230 companies when we checked) with peer mocks and coaches at about $200 an hour. Interview Prep is $149 a year; Lite is $139 one-time [10]. It has no AI mock interviewer that we could find. See AllthingsPM vs PM Exercises.

6. RocketBlocks: best for structured drills

RocketBlocks sells drills across product sense, strategy, analytics and technical topics, concept reviews, and a miniseries of 19 recorded mocks, for $35 a month or $155 a year with a 7-day trial; coaching is $200 an hour [12]. It suits MBA students preparing for PM and consulting together.

7. Free YouTube channels and books

Free videos and books like Cracking the PM Interview teach the formats well. They cannot hear you answer. Our list of the best PM interview books covers which ones still hold up.

How AllthingsPM does this. Whatever course you pick, the gap is the same: someone has to ask you the question, push back and score you. That is what the JD mock does every day for free, and it works alongside any of the courses above.

Is a video course enough to pass a PM interview?

Usually not on its own. Watching a PM give a strong answer to "design a product for X" builds recognition. The interview asks for recall, out loud, in 40 minutes, with follow-ups you did not plan for. The retrieval research is clear that practising recall beats rereading [9].

The vendors seem to agree: every paid course above either bolts on peer mocks, sells coaching or adds an AI interviewer next to its lessons.

How AllthingsPM does this. The course and the interviewer share one account. Finish the product sense round lesson, then open a real question such as design an anti-scamming product for Meta and answer it as a scored mock. The follow-ups probe the exact places your structure was thin.

Which course is best for AI product manager interviews?

AI PM loops now include rounds on evals, model limits, cost and latency. Aced added a GenAI module that covers retrieval, token cost and latency [2], which shows where the market is moving.

AllthingsPM was built for this. The course has chapters on agents and agentic architecture and proving an AI product paid off, and the jobs catalog holds 116 live PM job descriptions from 18 AI companies, each with a mock built from it, such as this Anthropic growth PM role. Our guide to AI PM interview questions lists what those rounds ask.

How AllthingsPM does this. Pick an AI company role in the jobs catalog, run its ready-made mock, then read the answer guides on that company's page in the question bank. You practise against the posting you will actually apply to.

How much should you spend on PM interview prep?

Less than most people think. Here is the cost of the options for a typical three-month search, using the list prices above:

SetupThree-month cost
AllthingsPM Pro, monthly$60
AllthingsPM Pro, annual$120
Aced Pro, month to month$237
IGotAnOffer course, one 6-month term$139
Product Alliance, one course$379
Any of the above plus one coach hourAdd about $100 to $250

The rule we would follow: pay for daily practice at a low monthly price, and spend on a human only when a real loop is booked.

How AllthingsPM does this. Start on the free tier: one JD mock and one resume review a day, plus the full question bank with answer guides. Move to Pro at $20 for a month when interviews are booked, and cancel when you sign.

A four-week study plan using a PM interview course

Week 1: learn the formats. Work through the interview chapter of the course and read ten answer guides for your target company.

Week 2: answer out loud. One scored mock a day on your weakest round. Re-run the same question two days later.

Week 3: rehearse the real role. Paste the posting into the JD mock and run it daily. Check your resume against the same JD so every story you tell is on the page.

Week 4: calibrate. Book one peer mock or one coach hour. Bring your two weakest stories, not your best.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for PM interview prep courses

A course only helps if it changes how you answer in the room. That is where AllthingsPM wins.

  • It teaches and then tests. 101 lessons built from 604 real job postings, followed by an AI interviewer that asks follow-ups and scores you, in text or voice.
  • It prepares you for your job, not a generic one. Mocks are built from the job description you paste. None of the six alternatives here do that.
  • It covers AI PM roles in depth. Chapters on agents, evals and AI economics, plus 116 live AI company job descriptions with ready mocks.
  • It is the cheapest paid year. $120, against $144 to $379 for the others, and $20 if you only need a month.

The alternatives have real strengths. Aced has a big peer community, Product Alliance has deep company-specific videos, and IGotAnOffer has a strong coach marketplace. For one human calibration session, any of them is fine. For the course and the daily practice that gets you the offer, choose AllthingsPM. Start your free JD mock.
