AllthingsPM vs GoPractice: two hands-on ways to learn AI PM

AllthingsPM is the better GoPractice alternative for most AI PMs: a 101 lesson AI PM course built from 604 real job postings, plus mock interviews from any job description, for $120 a year. GoPractice sells single simulators from $25 to $1,190.

Two hands-on ways to learn AI product management.

Short answer: if you are looking for a GoPractice alternative to learn AI product management, AllthingsPM is the better pick for most people. AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform. Its course has 14 chapters and 101 lessons built from 604 real PM job postings, each chapter ends in a graded case study, and the same $120 a year subscription adds AI mock interviews built from any job description and 4,122 real interview questions. GoPractice sells deep, self-paced simulators one at a time: $1,190 for its AI/ML Simulator (about 60 hours), $399 for AI Prototyping and $25 for a Generative AI mini simulator when we checked.

Both are hands-on. The difference is scope: GoPractice teaches one skill area per simulator, while AllthingsPM takes you from the AI skills the job asks for all the way to the interview loop. Prices checked 28 September 2026 on each vendor's own page.

What does each one actually teach?

GoPractice's AI/ML Simulator runs four projects across computer vision, generative AI, recommendation systems and sales forecasting, plus five study modules on ML fundamentals, model evaluation, problem solving, quality improvement and project management. It says no programming or advanced maths is needed. Its AI Prototyping simulator walks you through building prototypes with tools such as Lovable, including a Slack feature prototype and an AI product MVP. The Generative AI mini simulator covers prompting, quality evaluation and scaling around one business case: automating review analysis.

The AllthingsPM AI PM course is organised around the decisions an AI PM makes on the job. It starts with Foundations, including how to attribute every failure to a layer: model, context, harness or surface. It moves through data fluency with SQL and logs, the AI PRD, agents and agentic architecture, evals, AI UX and human oversight, economics and pricing, enterprise deployment and multimodal products, and ends with the AI PM interview loop.

The AllthingsPM AI PM course: 14 chapters and 101 lessons, each chapter ending in a graded case study, September 2026

The gap that matters: agents, evals as a product discipline, AI UX for systems that are wrong sometimes, and AI pricing all show up in AI PM job descriptions. GoPractice's AI/ML Simulator covers model evaluation and quality inside ML projects; AllthingsPM gives each of those topics its own chapter because the postings ask for them.

How AllthingsPM does this: every lesson is one short video, one written lesson and one thing you do, and every chapter ends in a graded case study inside a different real product. The knowledge graph maps how the AI concepts connect, so you can see what to learn next.

Which is more hands-on?

Both, in different ways. GoPractice is known for its narrative simulators. In its Data-Driven PM Simulator, you work with real data in the Amplitude analytics tool and move "from analyst to product director" across 235 cases. The AI/ML Simulator applies the same idea to four ML projects. That is a real strength: you make decisions and see consequences rather than watch slides.

AllthingsPM is hands-on too, and it points the practice at what an AI PM ships. You write an AI PRD that names risks, guardrails and success metrics before you build. You design evals, including a multimodal golden set. You decide when a multi-agent design is worth its cost. Each chapter's graded case study leaves you with a piece of work in a different real product, so you finish with a portfolio across the landscape rather than many pieces of work in one fictional app.

How AllthingsPM does this: the graded case studies double as portfolio pieces. To see how other PMs present that kind of work, browse 455 PM portfolios, then use our guide to AI PM projects to build for your portfolio.

Does either one prepare you for AI PM interviews?

This is where the two separate most. We did not find mock interviews, an interview question bank or job listings on GoPractice's site. It is a skills school, and a good one, but you would need a second product to rehearse the loop.

AllthingsPM puts the interview next to the learning. The JD mock builds an AI interviewer from any job description you paste; it asks, follows up on what you actually said and scores you, by text or voice. The question bank has 4,122 real PM questions from 260 companies, each with its own page and answer guide, with a hub per company such as Anthropic and OpenAI. And the jobs catalog lists 116 live PM roles at 18 AI companies, such as Product Lead, AI/ML (Evals) at Abridge and Product Manager, API Agents at OpenAI, each with a mock built from that posting.

That link between learning and interviewing matters. Finish the evals chapter, then answer a real question like how you would design an evaluation framework for enterprise agents out loud in practice, and read the answer guide on the same page.

How AllthingsPM does this: one session screen lets you switch between typing and speaking, and every follow-up is anchored to the job description or question you chose. For the full loop, read our AI PM interview questions guide.

How much do they cost?

Prices checked 28 September 2026. GoPractice lists bulk pricing for companies on request.

What that means for you:

  • For the whole AI PM curriculum, AllthingsPM costs about a tenth of GoPractice's AI/ML Simulator ($120 against $1,190), and adds interview prep.
  • Buying GoPractice's AI simulators together (AI/ML, AI Prototyping and the GenAI mini) comes to $1,614 at the prices we saw.
  • GoPractice's one-time payment means no renewal. AllthingsPM's monthly plan lets you pay $20 for a single focused month instead.

How AllthingsPM does this: one subscription covers the course, unlimited mocks and resume reviews and the library. Start on the free tier, then check pricing once the first lessons and a free JD mock have shown you it helps.

Who is each one built for?

GoPractice says its courses suit people who want to learn by doing, with no programming or advanced maths required. Its Data-Driven PM Simulator reports more than 7,000 graduates and was taught as part of Yale School of Management's product management program in 2023, according to its page. That track record is real, and it is strongest for analytics and growth skills.

AllthingsPM is built for PMs who want an AI PM role: a PM moving into AI, an engineer or analyst moving into product, or a candidate preparing for a loop at an AI company. The course is built from what 604 real postings ask for, and then the mocks, questions and job listings take you to the offer. If that is you, read our guides on how to go from PM to AI PM and the AI PM roadmap for 2026.

How AllthingsPM does this: pick a live role in the jobs catalog, run a resume review against that JD, learn the gaps in the course, then rehearse the interview with a JD mock built from the same posting.

A four week plan to learn AI PM with AllthingsPM

  1. Week 1: foundations and data. Work through Foundations and Data fluency. Finish the first graded case study.
  2. Week 2: spec and build. Do The AI PRD and Agents and agentic architecture. Read our agents vs workflows guide alongside.
  3. Week 3: prove it works. Do the evals chapter and Prove it paid off. Our AI evals guide for PMs is a good companion.
  4. Week 4: get the job. Do Get the job, pick two live roles from the jobs catalog, and run a JD mock on each. Save every follow-up that caught you out and revisit the lesson that covers it.

On GoPractice, a similar month would get you well into one simulator. The AI/ML Simulator alone is about 60 hours, and you would still need a separate tool for interview practice.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for learning AI PM

The decision comes down to the goal. If you want to learn AI product management and land an AI PM role, AllthingsPM fits better on every point we could check:

  • It covers the whole AI PM job. 14 chapters and 101 lessons, from failure attribution and SQL to agents, evals, AI UX, pricing and enterprise rollout.
  • It is built from real demand. The curriculum was built backwards from 604 PM job postings and is updated weekly, so it tracks what hiring managers ask for.
  • It is hands-on. Every chapter ends in a graded case study inside a real product.
  • It prepares you for the interview. JD mocks from any job description, 4,122 real questions with answer guides and 116 live AI company roles, none of which we found on GoPractice.
  • It costs less. $120 a year for all of it, against $1,190 for GoPractice's AI/ML Simulator alone.

GoPractice's genuine strength is its long, immersive simulators, with a track record in analytics and growth training; for a complete path from AI PM skills to an AI PM offer at about a tenth of the price, AllthingsPM is the better choice. Open the AI PM course free or compare plans.

AllthingsPM. It pairs a 101 lesson AI PM course built from 604 real job postings with AI mock interviews from any job description and 4,122 real questions with answer guides, for $120 a year with a free tier. GoPractice remains a good option if you only want one deep ML simulator.

How much does GoPractice cost?

When we checked on 28 September 2026, the AI/ML Simulator for Product Managers was $1,190, the Data-Driven Product Management Simulator $1,190, the AI Prototyping simulator $399 and the Generative AI mini simulator $25. Each is a one-time payment for that simulator.

Is GoPractice worth it?

It can be if you want deep, self-paced practice in one area, such as ML projects or product analytics, and are happy to pay per simulator. If you want the full AI PM curriculum plus interview prep, AllthingsPM gives you more for $120 a year.

Does GoPractice offer mock interviews?

We did not find mock interviews or an interview question bank on GoPractice's site in September 2026. AllthingsPM's JD mock builds an AI interviewer from any job description, with follow-ups and a score.

Do I need to code for either one?

No. GoPractice says its AI simulators need no programming or advanced maths. The AllthingsPM course teaches the data and AI fluency PMs need, including SQL and reading logs, without asking you to become an engineer.

Which is better for landing an AI PM job?

AllthingsPM, because it links the learning to the hiring: live AI company roles, resume review against a JD and mocks built from the posting you are applying to.
