Consumer PM Portfolio Examples: 45 Real Sites (2026)

The best consumer product manager portfolios lead with users reached, a retention or conversion number, and one product decision explained in plain words. Here are 12 standouts from the 45 consumer PM portfolios in the free AllthingsPM directory, plus a build plan.

A product manager pinning a row of blank index cards and small blank screen printouts to a long corkboard wall, stepping back to look at how they read together
45 real consumer PM portfolios, and what the strongest ones show about users, retention and results.

A strong consumer product manager portfolio proves three things fast: how many people used what you built, whether they came back, and which product decision you made to get there. AllthingsPM is an AI PM course and PM interview prep platform, and its free PM Portfolios directory lists 45 real consumer PM portfolio sites (out of 455 PM-level portfolios), from PMs at Spotify, Instagram, TikTok and Uber to CPOs at Polaroid and CrossFit. Filter by industry and level, then practice the interview in the same account.

Below: the 12 consumer portfolios worth studying, what each does well, the data on all 45, and a weekend plan to build yours.

Which consumer PM portfolio examples are worth copying?

We link-checked all 45 consumer entries on 29 September 2026: 44 returned a normal page and 1 (Holland Cowger's) blocked our automated request.

Company, lane and focus come from each entry in the AllthingsPM directory, checked 29 September 2026. Stats quoted below were read on each person's own site the same day.

Bar chart: AllthingsPM (us) lists 45 consumer PM portfolios. By level: PM 22, VP or CPO 10, Senior PM 8, Director 4, Group or Principal PM 1
Source: AllthingsPM PM Portfolios directory, consumer-tagged entries, September 2026

The spread is useful. Nearly half the consumer portfolios (22 of 45) are from PMs, and 14 are from Directors, VPs and CPOs. Whatever your level, the AllthingsPM directory has real peers to compare against.

How AllthingsPM does this: open PM Portfolios, set the industry filter to Consumer and the level filter to your own level. Every card shows the person's title, company and a one-line focus, and opens their live site in a new tab.

What makes a consumer PM portfolio different from a B2B one?

B2B portfolios argue about deals, accounts and workflows. Consumer portfolios argue about behavior: did millions of people try the thing, and did they come back without anyone selling it to them?

That shifts the metrics a reviewer looks for:

  • Scale. Users, MAU or installs reached.
  • Retention. Lenny Rachitsky's benchmark study puts good six-month user retention at 25% for consumer social, 30% for consumer transactional and 40% for consumer subscription, with "great" at 45%, 50% and 70% [1]. If your product beat those, say so.
  • Funnel steps. Sign-up, activation, trial to paid, checkout conversion.
  • Experiment volume. Consumer teams ship through A/B tests, so the number of tests you ran is itself a signal.

The general portfolio rules still apply. ProdPad advises you to "Choose only the projects that best showcase your relevant Product Management skills" [2], and Product Manager Job Board is blunter: "2-3 strong case studies beat 6 mediocre ones" [3]. For consumer work, make sure each of those two or three has a user number and a behavior number.

How AllthingsPM does this: the question bank has real consumer prompts to rehearse against your case studies, like How would you improve podcast engagement on Spotify? and How would you design a loyalty program for DoorDash to increase customer retention?. Each has an answer guide and can start a mock.

What do the best consumer portfolios actually show?

Here is what we read on eight of the standouts, quoted from their own sites on 29 September 2026.

Kireeti Varma (ex-OnePlus): scale up front

Kireeti's headline is "Built products for 200M+ users globally." Below it sit four stats: "200M+ Users Reached (OnePlus & OPPO)", "20+ Products Built & Shipped", "25+ Teams Globally" and "12+ Years Experience". He also names the partners he brought onto the platform: Spotify, Snapchat, Zomato, Swiggy and Grab. A reviewer knows the scale in five seconds, and the partner names do the credibility work.

Karishma Amin (Helium Mobile): a number in every bullet

Karishma's site is the best example here for a mid-level PM. Her bullets read like results, not duties: "increasing trial-to-paid conversion 27x", "Launched Group Plans from 0 to 900+ subscribers", and a beta launch "reaching 81k users with 24% 90-day retention". The retention line states the window (90 days), which makes the number checkable. Copy that habit.

Scott Bossak (Spotify): name the features

Scott writes that he has "built consumer experiences for Spotify's 700M+ users" and then lists what he shipped: "About the song, full-length music videos, podcast creation tools, mobile design systems, and Spotify's Free Tier." Named features beat vague scope. A hiring manager at a media company can picture every one.

Tom Patton (Bay Area): funnel metrics

Tom's summary says he led teams "optimizing core funnel sign-ups on targeted products by an average of 105%, driving a 20% boost in activation." He also tells a clear arc: account work at HotelTonight, a bootcamp, product engineering, then a Y Combinator startup. For career switchers into consumer PM, that story structure is worth borrowing.

Adam Lewkovitz: one positioning line

Adam's first screen reads "I craft AI-powered products people love and trust," followed by two decades at Amazon, Marriott, Walgreens and Albertsons and four years at Google. The line tells you exactly which consumer AI job he wants. Most portfolios never say that.

Vanessa Kafka (ex-Eventbrite, ex-KAYAK): the executive version

Vanessa's headline is "Clear vision. Simple products. Empowered teams." Her stats are "15+ Years in Product", "100+ Experiments Run" and "5+ Industries Deep". The experiment count is a smart consumer signal: it says she runs a testing culture, not just a roadmap.

Stine Dahlberg (Polaroid): personality with proof

Stine, CPO at Polaroid, writes with a lot of voice, then backs it with firsts: she "was the first-ever hire on Spotify's special projects 'black ops' team" and "helped lead the App Store's first-ever product reimagination." Consumer brands reward taste. Personality is fine when the proof sits right next to it.

Philippe Dubost: the format is the pitch

Philippe built his resume as a spoof shopping product page. His site notes that "After 2 months and 1,500,000 visitors, I've found THE job!" You do not need to copy the gimmick, but it shows the consumer instinct in action: he designed for the reader's attention.

How AllthingsPM does this: once you have picked a pattern, run a JD mock on the consumer role you want. Paste the job description and AllthingsPM builds a scored interview from it, with follow-ups that push on the same retention and growth claims your case studies make.

How should you structure a consumer PM case study?

CareerFoundry tells PMs "to constantly point out your own involvement in the projects and the effect that that had" [4], and Leland advises you to "Pick a few key projects that best showcase your product management skills" [5]. For consumer work, a structure that fits:

  1. Context in one line. Product, audience, platform (iOS, Android, web, device).
  2. The user problem, with evidence. A drop-off point, a research finding, a support theme.
  3. Your decision and the tradeoff. What you tested, what you cut, what you chose not to build.
  4. The result, with a window. Before, after, and the time frame, like Karishma's "24% 90-day retention".
  5. What you learned. One honest sentence, ideally about a test that failed.

Screens matter more in consumer than in B2B, so include one or two before and after images of the flow you changed, if you are allowed to share them.

What if my metrics are confidential?

Use relative numbers ("sign-ups up about a fifth") and public scale figures the company has already published. Leave out internal dashboards and unreleased designs. When unsure, ask your manager before you publish.

How AllthingsPM does this: before you send the portfolio link, run your resume through resume review against a JD. It scores the match to the consumer role you want, so the resume and the portfolio make the same claims.

What should a consumer PM portfolio look like by level?

LevelConsumer portfolios in AllthingsPMWhat the strong ones emphasizeExample
All levels in AllthingsPM45Filter to your level firstBrowse the directory
PM22One owned flow, one behavior metricKarishma Amin
Senior PM8Scale plus named featuresKireeti Varma
Group or Principal PM1Platform scope across surfacesSerko Artinian
Director4Acquisition to revenue across productsAdam Lewkovitz
VP or CPO10Teams led, experiment culture, brandVanessa Kafka

Counts from the AllthingsPM PM Portfolios directory, consumer-tagged entries, September 2026.

The directory entries are specific at every level. Serko Artinian's describes platform work across mobile, CTV and in-car with Apple, Amazon, Google and Samsung. Vanessa Kafka's notes she led 40 PMs and designers at KAYAK. Neither says "passionate about users."

How AllthingsPM does this: the level filter runs from PM to VP or CPO, and the senior PM portfolio roundup and director and VP portfolio roundup go deeper on the top levels.

Which consumer lanes do the 45 portfolios cover?

Reading the 45 entries, the lanes cluster like this:

  • Music, streaming and media: Spotify (Scott Bossak, Lu Han, Roel van der Ven), Nexstar Media's OTT team, Yandex Kinopoisk.
  • Social and messaging: Instagram, TikTok, Meta, Reddit, Tinder.
  • Travel and marketplaces: Airbnb, KAYAK, HotelTonight, Eventbrite, Uber, Meetup.
  • Devices and hardware: OnePlus and OPPO, NZXT, Polaroid, ROLI.
  • Subscriptions and growth: Helium Mobile, Microsoft SwiftKey, Kapwing.
  • Consumer AI: Jolie Huang, Adam Lewkovitz, and Dana Bamshad (former Head of Product at Airbnb), who now designs agentic AI workflows per the directory.

Pick the three portfolios closest to your lane and study those, not the most famous ones.

How do you build a consumer PM portfolio in a weekend?

Saturday morning: pick your lane and peers. Open PM Portfolios, filter to Consumer and your level, and open five sites. Note which one you would call back as a hiring manager, and why.

Saturday afternoon: write two case studies. Use the five-part structure above. Each gets a user number, a behavior number and a time window.

Sunday morning: write the first screen. One positioning line (like Adam's), three headline numbers (like Kireeti's), and links to the two case studies. A no-code builder is enough; our guide on how to build a PM portfolio website covers the options.

Sunday afternoon: pressure-test it. Take a real consumer JD, run a JD mock, and see whether your case studies survive the follow-ups. Then practice a company set, such as Uber PM interview questions, or read the Spotify PM interview guide.

Consumer products are moving fast into AI: ranking, recommendations and assistants. If your target role mentions AI, the AllthingsPM course covers evals, agents and AI product metrics, including a lesson on building a metric tree and defining activation. The AI PM portfolio examples post shows how AI PMs present that work.

How AllthingsPM does this: every step above lives in one account: the portfolio directory, the question bank, JD mocks, resume review and the course. You do not need a separate tool for each stage.

Why AllthingsPM is the better choice for consumer PM portfolio research

General PM portfolio guides mix every industry together. The AllthingsPM directory has 45 consumer entries alone, each with title, level, company and focus, filterable, and link-checked (44 of 45 loaded normally on 29 September 2026).

Other resources have real strengths. CareerFoundry, Leland and ProdPad publish solid general guides on what to put in a PM portfolio [2][4][5], and their advice matches what the best consumer sites here already do. What they do not give you is a searchable set of consumer PM peers, or anything that helps after the portfolio is finished.

That second half is where AllthingsPM wins. The portfolio earns the interview; the interview is where consumer candidates get asked to improve Spotify, grow Instagram or fix a drop in Uber confirmations. AllthingsPM gives you 4,122 real questions from 260 companies with answer guides, company pages for Spotify, Airbnb, Uber and Instagram, mocks built from any job description in text or voice, resume review against a JD, and an AI PM course, at $20 a month or $120 a year, with a free tier that includes one JD mock a day.

The verdict: use the AllthingsPM directory to find the consumer portfolios worth copying, build yours with the weekend plan above, then practice the interview it earns you on AllthingsPM. Start free on AllthingsPM.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best place to find consumer product manager portfolio examples?

AllthingsPM's free PM Portfolios directory is the best place: it lists 45 real consumer PM portfolio sites among 455 PM-level portfolios, filterable by industry and level. Each entry shows the person's title, company and focus, and links to their live site.

Do consumer product managers need a portfolio?

It is not required for most roles, but it helps when a resume cannot show how you think about users. A portfolio can show the before and after of a flow and the retention result, which one bullet cannot. Our post on whether PMs need a portfolio covers what hiring managers say.

What metrics should a consumer PM portfolio include?

Lead with scale (users or MAU reached) and one behavior metric such as retention, activation or conversion, with its time window. Lenny Rachitsky's benchmarks put good six-month retention at 25% for consumer social and 40% for consumer subscription [1], which gives you context for your own number.

How many case studies should a consumer PM portfolio have?

Two or three deep ones. Product Manager Job Board says "2-3 strong case studies beat 6 mediocre ones" [3], and the strongest consumer sites in the AllthingsPM directory follow that pattern.

How do I prepare for consumer PM interviews after building my portfolio?

Practice on real questions: AllthingsPM has company pages for Spotify, Airbnb, Uber and Instagram in the question bank, and a JD mock turns any consumer job description into a scored interview with follow-ups. The free tier includes one JD mock a day.
